begining

From the very moment Taehyung stepped out from behind the silk curtain, his heart burned with an intense, volatile hatred. Jeon Jungkook wasn't just a powerful prince from a faraway land anymore; he was a tyrant. An enemy. A monster who had stood in their sacred palace and threatened his father, his people, and his sister with total annihilation.

Taehyung hurried through the winding stone corridors, his jaw clenched so tightly it ached. He needed to see Taehyun.

He found her in her chambers, surrounded by silk drapes and laughing softly as her handmaidens adjusted the heavy gold embroidery of her bridal attire. When she noticed her brother entering, her face lit up. "Taehyung! Look at this veil. Do you think it's too heavy?"

Taehyung forced the rage down deep into his chest, swallowing the bitter taste of fear. Looking at her innocent, smiling face, he couldn't bring himself to say a word about Jungkook's terrifying threats. He didn't want to ruin her final days of peace, nor did he want to panic the palace.

"It looks... beautiful, Taehyun," Taehyung said softly, his voice thick with uncharacteristic emotion. He walked over and gently touched the edge of her veil. Internalizing the heavy burden alone, he swore a silent, fierce oath to himself: I will protect you, sister. Even if I have to kill that cruel prince with my own hands.

Meanwhile, the gears of the grand alliance were turning rapidly. With King Sisodiya having accepted the terms of "friendship" to save his people from a bloody war, both kingdoms officially declared their readiness for the royal wedding.

Jungkook wasted no time. He returned swiftly to his grand estate to prepare for the arrival of his royal family. Orders were sent across the sea, and soon, the ships carrying the King and Queen of the Jeon Kingdom, along with their high-ranking ministers, docked at the harbor, ready to witness the historic union.

In his private quarters, Jungkook stood before a tall bronze mirror as his servants fastened his dark, royal wedding robes. A faint, cold smile played on his lips.

Jungkook was happy.

But his happiness had absolutely nothing to do with love. He did not care about the princess's feelings, nor did he care about the sacred sanctity of marriage. To Jungkook, this entire arrangement was a grand game of chess. Marrying the Sisodiya princess was his ultimate victory-the key to breaking the defenses of a proud, unbroken empire.

And if there was one thing Crown Prince Jungkook loved above all else, it was his own undisputed victory.

"Let the celebrations begin," Jungkook murmured to his reflection, his eyes gleaming with a dangerous, triumphant light. He was ready to claim his prize, completely blind to the fact that his perfect victory was about to shatter into a nightmare of poison, blood, and a bride who would become his deadliest match.
