The Golden Walls and the Two Princesses
Centuries ago, nestled in a majestic valley where mountain peaks brushed against the heavens and rivers flowed clear as crystal, there stood a magnificent kingdom. This realm was ruled by King Valerius, a sovereign so incredibly wealthy that his vaults overflowed with gold, diamonds, and sapphires. His sprawling palace shimmered from miles away, for its grand walls were washed in pure liquid gold, and the royal fountains continuously cast up shimmering pearls instead of water.
King Valerius harbored a deep, profound arrogance within his heart due to this boundless wealth. Whenever he sat upon his ivory throne, adjusting his heavy crown of gold, he would smile and think to himself, "There is no one in this entire world as powerful and wealthy as I. My own intellect and hard labor have elevated me to this supreme status." To him, gold was the answer to every question, and there was nothing in existence that his fortune could not purchase.
The King had two daughters whom he loved dearly. Both were exceptionally beautiful, yet their souls and temperaments were as different as day and night.
The elder daughter was Princess Lysandra. She spent the entirety of her days standing before grand mirrors, draped in the finest silks, adorned with heavy pearls, and experimenting with lavish fashions. She demanded constant adoration from the palace servants, who would endlessly chant, "Your Highness, there is no one as breathtakingly beautiful as you in the whole world!" Hearing this, Lysandra would lift her chin in arrogant pride. She truly believed that the poor were born merely to serve her desires, remaining entirely indifferent to anyone else's suffering.
On the other hand, the younger daughter was Princess Elara. Her heart was pure, gentle, and deeply compassionate. Rather than the cold glint of royal jewels, she cherished the living colors of the palace gardens. Every morning at dawn, she would walk among the flowerbeds, nurturing new plants and conversing with the birds. Miraculously, the wild birds recognized her sweet voice and would fearlessly alight on her hands to peck at grain. Whenever a palace servant fell ill, Elara would secretly arrange for medicine and nourishing food to be delivered to them. Her soul lived in a constant state of gratitude to the Almighty, knowing that earthly luxury was fleeting and that true sovereignty belonged only to the Creator.
