Today was the day.

The day I had dreamed of for years.

After countless , sleepless nights and endless hard work, my father had finally acknowledged my potential.

A smile unconsciously spread across my lips as excitement bubbled inside me.

A familiar voice drifted through the door.

"Baby, are you awake?"

My smile widened instantly.

"Coming, Sunshine!" I called back.

I hurried to the door and pulled it open without a second thought. The moment I saw my sunshine(my mom) standing there, I wrapped my arms around her in a tight hug.

"There, there..." She chuckled softly, gently patting my back.

"Relax, baby. I know you're happy, but if you hug me any tighter, you're going to crush your sunshine."

I immediately loosened my grip and looked up with an innocent expression.

Am I really crushing you, Sunshine?

She laughed.I'm just joking.

I crossed my arms, pretending to be offended, and puffed out my cheeks.

You're so bad, Sunshine.

She laughed harder, making my fake pout disappear as I smiled once again.Before She could head downstairs, She called from outside my room.

Come down quickly for breakfast, baby. Everyone's waiting, and don't be late on your first day at the office.

Okay, Sunshine. Coming,I replied.

Five minutes later, I walked downstairs.

The moment I stepped into the dining area, I was greeted by the usual morning chaos. Everyone was busy arguing over food. Well... now it was my turn to join the madness.

Come on, guys. Eat like adults, I said, shaking my head.

My sister, Naina, and my best friend, Anika, looked at me and spoke in perfect sync.

"Shut up."

"Okay, okay... I surrender," I laughed, raising my hands. "Now pass me the sandwich beside you, dumbo."

"This one?" Naina asked, pointing at the sandwich.

"Yeah, that one."

"It's mine now," she said with an innocent smile.

I turned toward Sunshine and old man (dad)

"Sunshine, if anything happens to this brat, don't blame me."

Without waiting for a reply, I walked over to Naina, gently flicked her forehead, and snatched the sandwich from her hand.

Meanwhile, Anika sat there quietly, enjoying the entire drama while eating her breakfast.

Naina eyes drifted toward Anika, and a small smirk played on his lips.

"Mom," She called out innocently, "do you know Anika di didn't come home last night?"

Anika nearly choked her food she was eating. She coughed, her heart racing with nervousness.

Everyone at the table turned to look at her in surprise-except Dad.

"Is that true, baby?" Sunshine asked softly, concern evident in her voice.

"You didn't come home last night. Are you okay?"

Anika awkwardly rubbed the back of her neck before forcing a smile.

"Y-Yes, Mom. I'm fine. I had some work to finish, so I couldn't come home."

"Alright. Just make sure you get some rest now," she replied gently.

Before the conversation could move on, Naina interrupted dramatically.

"Not fair! If I were in her place, you would've scolded me. Sometimes I feel like I'm adopted."

There she goes again, I thought, watching her overact. Now I am thinking why she is even an author-she could easily become an actress .

I already knew this drama had no end.

With a quiet sigh, I pushed my chair back and stood up.

Walking over to Sunshine, I gently kissed her forehead.

"Bye, Sunshine," I said with a smile.

Then I turned toward Dad.

"Bye, old man."

He immediately frowned and crossed his arms.

"I'm not old."

I chuckled, trying not to laugh.

"Okay, okay... stop glaring at me. See you later, old man.

He shook his head with a helpless smile, while the rest of the family couldn't help but laugh at our usual banter.

Just as I was about to leave, Anika stood up from her chair.

She walked over to Sunshine, kissed her forehead, and smiled.

"Bye, Sunshine."

Then she turned to Dad with a mischievous grin.

"Bye, old man."

Dad let out a dramatic sigh.

"Not you too, baby."

He couldn't help but smirk.

"My darling," he said, looking at Mom with fake disappointment, "why are they calling me old?"

Mom laughed softly before teasing him,

"Maybe because you are old."

Dad placed a hand over his heart as if she'd just betrayed him.

"You too, darling? Even you?"

The four of us burst into laughter while Dad shook his head helplessly.
