THE MASKED HEIR
Alexander Sterling has always hated assumptions.
The world believed every Alpha was dominant.
Alexander knew better.
Unfortunately, the rest of the society didn't.
FEW DAYS AGO.
Alexander was dragged by his friend Noah who is an Omega to a club called THE IVORY CLUB, though Alexander didn't agree to it at first but his friend Noah, is someone who never takes 'no' for an answer.
When he entered the club, blue neon lights washed over the polished marble floors while the scent of expensive perfume mixed with aged whiskey. The bass thundered through the walls as sharply dressed guests filled every corner of THE IVORY CLUB.
"I already told you I didn't want to come to this club, I'm not really in the mood for clubbing" Alexander complained to his friend Noah when they got to the VIP section of the club where some other Alphas,Omegas and some Betas are in.
"Oh,come on don't be a buzz killer,we are already here, have fun and besides who works on a weekend" Noah asked while waving to some other Omegas at the other section of the VIP section.
"I don't have any other thing to do that's why I gave my assistant the permission to take a weekend break, no need to involve others in my boring life" Alexander said.
"My poor baby, that's why I'm here for you "Noah coos. " That reminds me, you mentioned your parents proposing a marriage alliance to the HAWTHORNE FAMILY, damn your parents really knows the real deal, the HAWTHORNE FAMILY has been ruling the business industry since more than two decades" Noah says.
"Yeah, they've been ruling the business industry for over two decades and their son and obviously the heir Sebastian Hawthorne....'' Alexander said but was interrupted by Noah
''The man whose side profile broke the Internet.'' Noah said while grinning.
''Yeah, he hasn't been making it easier and his identity is also unknown, only close associates and family members has seen him." Alexander says.
"Yeah, you are right about that though his side profile has once being shown, I mean bro's side profile caused an uproar in the media, and business world and bro got a lot of fans, including me, have you seen his jawline, his jawline could literally cut a glass." Noah was practically swooning.
"Okay, that's enough of the swooning, someone you guys haven't even seen" Alexander said while smiling.
"Leave it like that, we aren't complaining, so who's marrying him" Noah asked.
"My sis was the one who was going to marry him, after all she's an Omega and it seems like he's an Alpha, I mean he has the qualities of an Alpha, though I would love it if my sister have a love marriage, so I volunteered to take her place, same secondary gender marriage isn't new to the world anymore, my sister has always wanted a love marriage not an arranged marriage." Alexander answered which made Noah choke on his drink.
"You say what? You are going to take your sister's place" Noah asks while in shock and later sighs "Your sister is really lucky to have you as a brother, God when you were creating brothers, why didn't you give me a brother like Alexander "Noah lamented which made Alexander burst into laughter.
"Your brothers loves you way better than I do, and they show it every single damn time " Alexander said while laughing.
"Uhmm,Alex " Noah called.
"Yes? " Alexander answered
"That stranger over there has been staring at you since we got here" Noah said while discreetly pointing at a section behind them.
Alexander turned around to see the person, when he made eye contact with the stranger, his breath caught, the stranger was staring right into his soul with his black like onyx eyes, the guy was in a two-piece suit, his hair black as the night, he wasn't muscular like Alexander, but he was lean and well toned.
The stranger carried himself with quiet confidence.
Even without saying a word, people unconsciously made room for him.
Alexander turned back to Noah who wriggled his eyebrows at him with a smile tugging at his lips.
''Why are you wriggling your eyebrows at me? And why is that guy staring into my soul'' Alexander asked Noah.
''Don't you like it, that guy is obviously into you and he's literally showing it, he's sexy, you aren't yet engaged to your supposed fiance so you are free'' Noah said while nodding towards the guy.
''No, I'm not doing that'' Alexander said and takes a sip of his drink which made Noah sighs and takes a sip of his drink, then stands up.
''Wanna join me on the dance floor?'' Noah asked .
''No, have fun without me and if you see someone, just message me your location'' Alexander said while taking a sip of his drink while Noah moves to the dance floor, moving his body to the beats of the song.
Alexander continued drinking, and before he knows it, he misses the glass slightly, though he could feel the burning gaze of a certain someone behind his back.
Few minutes later,a ping was heard from his phone, he took it out, and saw that it was a message from his Noah saying he has seen a guy with a location and he saw that it was the club's hotel and he also saw the room number attached to it,he liked the message then pocketed his phone then continues drinking.
The music changed into a bass which vibrated through the floor ,the music loud enough to drown out almost every conversation.
Fishing lights swept across the crowded dace floor, where strangers moved without a care in the world.
He hate every second of it.
Alexander sat alone at his VIP section, his tie loosened and the first, and buttons of his shirt undone. Five empty glasses sat in front of him, and a sixth was already halfway gone.
''Another''
The waiter nervously glanced at the growing line of empty glasses before reluctantly reaching for another bottle..
''Sir,maybe you should-''
''I said another."
A fresh drink slid across the counter.
He downed it in on perfect swallow.
''So that's your solution?''
The voice came from the seat beside him.
Deep. Calm. Confident.
Alexander turned lazily.
It was the same guy who was staring right into his soul the other time, one hand tucked into his pocket. Unlike everyone else trying to draw attention to themselves,he seemed perfectly content observing the room.
The stranger's face was partially hidden by an elegant black mask.
'' You my doctor ?''
The stranger simply looked at him.
Then...
''No''.
''Then mind your business''.
The stranger chuckled softly.
"I was trying to."
He motioned towards the waiter who was staring at the floor.
"But it's difficult when someone keeps trying to drink himself to unconscious."
Alexander rolled his eyes.
''You always lecture strangers?"
"I've been making sure you don't fall off your chair."
A reluctant laugh escaped Alexander's lips .
It surprised even him.
The stranger smiled faintly.
''There it is."
''What?''
''A real smil ".
Alexander looked away.
''You don't know me''.
''No''.
''You don't know why I'm drinking''.
'No''.
''... Then why are you still here?''
The stranger didn't answer immediately.
Instead, he reached over, took Alexander's untouched glass and slid it farther away.
''I figured,'' he said quietly,''that what you need right now isn't another drink.''
Alexander frowned.
''And what do I need ?''
The stranger met his eyes through the mask.
''Someone who will listen.''
For the first time al night, the noise around them seemed to fade.
Alexander searched the stranger's eyes, trying to make sense of the man hidden behind the mask.
''You're strange.''
''So I've been told.''
''... Buy me one dance.''
The stranger tilted his head.
''I thought you hated dancing.''
''I do.''
''Then why ask?''
Alexander smirked.
''... Because I want to know who the man behind the mask really is.''
The stranger stood, offering his hand.
''Then come find out.''
