...✧THE TRUTH BETWEEN THREE HEARTS✧...
The three of them stood inside the library entrance. For a few minutes, nobody spoke.
Taehyung looked between Jungkook and Jeongukk.
It was strange seeing them together. Two people with the same face. But completely different expressions.
Jungkook was usually impossible to read because he was always smiling. Today, he wasn't.
Jeongukk looked calm as always.
But Taehyung had started learning the small signs.
The way he avoided eye contact. The way his fingers moved slightly when he was nervous.
They were both uncomfortable. And somehow, Taehyung was the reason.
"Okay," Taehyung finally said.
Both of them looked at him.
"I think we need to talk."
Jungkook let out a quiet breath. "Yeah."
Jeongukk nodded. "I think so too."
They moved to a quiet corner of the library.
The same place where Taehyung and Jungkook had first met. The same place where everything started.
Taehyung looked at Jungkook.
"Are you upset with me?"
Jungkook immediately shook his head. "No."
"Then why do you look sad?"
Jungkook looked down.
"I don't know."
That answer surprised Taehyung.
Jungkook was usually so confident.
"I just..."
He paused.
"I don't know where I fit anymore."
Taehyung's expression softened.
"What do you mean?"
Jungkook smiled faintly.
"When you met me, I was the first person you knew."
"Yeah."
"You laughed with me."
"Yeah."
"You looked for me every Saturday."
Taehyung opened his mouth.
But Jungkook continued.
"And then Jeongukk appeared."
Taehyung looked away.
"Jungkook..."
"I know he didn't do anything wrong."
His voice became quieter.
"I know it's not his fault."
Jeongukk looked surprised.
Jungkook looked at him.
"I'm not angry at you."
Jeongukk was silent for a moment.
Then he nodded.
"I know."
"And that's the problem."
Jungkook laughed sadly.
"Because I can't even hate you."
The honesty of his words made the silence heavier.
Jeongukk looked down. "I understand."
Jungkook looked at him. "You do?"
Jeongukk nodded.
"Because I feel the same."
Taehyung froze.
"You?"
Jeongukk took a breath.
"I know Jungkook met you first."
"That's not important."
"It is."
His voice was quiet.
"You two have memories I wasn't part of."
Jungkook stared at him.
For the first time, they weren't competing. They were admitting they were scared.
Taehyung looked at both of them.
"You both are unbelievable."
They looked confused.
"What?"
Taehyung sighed.
"You're both worried about losing me."
Neither answered.
"Have either of you thought about how I feel?"
The question surprised them.
Taehyung looked down.
"I spent weeks thinking I was crazy."
"Why?"
"Because I met two people who made me feel completely different things."
Jungkook's expression softened.
Taehyung continued.
"Jungkook, you make me feel like I can forget every bad day."
Jungkook looked at him.
"And Jeongukk..."
Taehyung smiled slightly.
"You make everything feel quiet."
Jeongukk's eyes widened.
"I don't understand."
"I don't either."
Taehyung laughed softly.
"But that's the truth."
A long silence followed.
Then Jungkook whispered:
"So..."
He looked at Jeongukk.
"And you really like him too?"
Jeongukk didn't answer immediately. But his expression did.
Finally, he nodded.
"Yes."
Jungkook closed his eyes for a moment. Then he laughed quietly.
"Of course."
"What?"
"Of course the person I fell for would also be someone you fell for."
Jeongukk almost smiled.
"That's a strange compliment."
"It wasn't meant to be one."
"I know."
For the first time that day, they both laughed.
Taehyung watched them.
And something in his chest loosened.
Because maybe this wasn't about choosing. Maybe it was about being honest.
...~~...
A few days later, the three of them met at the café.
No misunderstandings. No pretending. Just honesty.
Taehyung wrapped his hands around his drink.
"I don't want either of you to feel like you're competing."
Jungkook nodded.
"I don't want that either."
Jeongukk agreed.
"Me neither."
"But we need to talk about everything."
They both looked at him.
"Everything?"
"Everything."
Taehyung smiled.
"Feelings. Boundaries. What makes us comfortable."
Jungkook smiled.
"You sound like you're organizing a business meeting."
"I am nervous."
That made Jungkook laugh.
Jeongukk looked away, but Taehyung noticed the small smile on his face.
Slowly... The tension disappeared.
Not completely. Not immediately. But enough.
Because the hardest part wasn't admitting their feelings. It was accepting that those feelings existed.
And from that day forward... They stopped trying to hide.
They started learning.
Learning how to communicate. Learning how to trust. Learning how to love without fear.
It wasn't perfect.
There were still jealous moments. Still misunderstandings. Still times when one of them wondered if they were enough.
But every time... They talked.
And every time... They chose honesty.
Because the story that began with one book on the highest shelf... Was no longer just about two people meeting.
It was about three hearts finding their way.
