Chapter 5: [My Queen]

Rhianna’s Pov.

“Your highness, may I serve you as a knight by your side,” Mr. Dellion said.

I was startled, am I hearing this right? Wishing that I’m still in a dream, an embrace caught my guard quickly as he carried me like a bridal style. I flustered in embarrassment, trying to calculate his thought of this matter.

“Hey! Put me down!” I shouted as I curled my hands into a fist and started banging it on his chest, worried if he may do something to me. A former secretary has been carried by its CEO, it’s nearly impossible. He walks upstairs, ignoring my words, shouting, and cursing at him. We went into the room I’ve slept in and gently put me down in the bed. I quickly grab the blanket and covered myself, thinking if it’s about the elevator incident, I started to regret being born to this world.

“I’m sorry about the elevator, I will pay the damages, although I still don’t have enough money, I will try my best to…” I was cut off…

He placed his finger unto my lips, preventing me to get further into details.

“Don’t worry about the elevator, as I said, it’s not about it” he said.

He sat down beside the corner of the bed, adjacent to where I’m hiding under covers, trying to calm me down which I did. I became confused to his sudden action; I didn’t hesitate to speak my mind and shouted.

“Then why is it important that you have to kidnap me in the first place and how did you know where I live anyway?” I exclaimed.

He looked at me, I became dumbfounded and I couldn’t understand why he kidnapped me which is not about that incident. It gives me second thoughts that the novels I usually read in my free time give shivers down my spine. This scene, the act, and the character, like I’m the heroine in a story and the one who’s in front of me is the male lead. Thoughts running through my head and in concluded…

Thinking of that, a blush appeared on my face, I shouldn’t have read too many novels. He became confused about my reaction.

“Are you ok? Do you have a fever?” he said as he tried to reach his hand towards me, I back away a bit, glaring at him. Shameless men! You think you can fool me!

“Anna please listen to me” he cried

“Then talk, why did you kidnap me?” I repeated.

He sighed and went back to his position. He starred at the wall trying not to make eye contact.

“Do you remember me?” he asked.

I was confused. Remember him? Well, I remember that he’s the guy at the elevator whom I thought was my colleague which turns out to be the CEO and kidnaps me for that kind of question? Without hesitation, I gave him a firm “no” for him to give up, this is getting annoying.

“Don’t you remember me? I’m Reil, your best friend?”

I was shocked, unsure if I heard it right. Reil? Of course, I remember him. He was my best friend, whom I had a crush on since high school. But I already move on, why did he come at the wrong time? I must be hearing things.

“Did you say, Reil?” I asked for clarification

He nods, which made it worse. HE’S REIL?! How come he’s different now? He doesn’t look like the Reil I know, it must be a misunderstanding.

“Are you really Reil?” I asked, I doubt that he may be mistaken me for someone else.

Trying to collect my thoughts, he turns his head on me, he smiled as I said that. I became even more confused.

“Really! Do you remember me? Oh, thank God, I thought you didn’t Anna, remember our promise?” he said which lead me to a flashback from before.

We were in middle school. We made a promise that when he came back, he will marry me. He will try to win my heart which he already did. But now, I don’t have feelings for him anymore, I mean, I’ve waited for him for 5 years, hoping that he at least come and visit me, but instead, my father got a promotion to another city which is pretty far from where we live. But I still visit my hometown from time to time, but instead, I saw him with another girl which breaks my heart into pieces. Trying to fight back my tears, I shook my head no.

“Then I’ll make you remember, I promised you that when I got into a position, I will come back and marry you, I will make you fall in love with me, then I did, as I tried to go back and see you, you weren’t there, Though it’s still blurry to me, to be honest,” He said as he touched his head which made me worry.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“I don’t want to talk about it, anyway for years I tried to look for you, I almost give up until we meet again in the elevator, Actually I’m thankful that you broke it no offense, that I found out who you are, I’m sorry that I came back late, and now…” he said as he stood up and walk towards me and sat beside me.

“I will marry you, whenever you like it or not”

My eyes widened, Is he really Reil? If he is, he changed. He’s not the Reil I know, he’s usually a considerate person and a thoughtful friend, but now, I don’t know if he’s Reil or not.

“But I don’t like you, I told you before, I don’t have feelings for you, you can’t marry someone if they don’t feel the same way, that’s ridiculous!” I shouted.

For years I cried for that day, I don’t want to get hurt again, I don’t want this, I wish I never gone out and hide forever. This place is so cruel, reality is cruel. I wish I never existed here in the first place. I just want to dig up a hole and hide there forever. He held my hands. I look away, avoiding his gaze upon me, showing disapproval to his sudden confession.

“What if I’ll make you fall in love with me? Will you accept my proposal?”

To my surprise, I look at him, our eyes met, it’s like our first met when I mistake him for my friend’s ex. His gaze made me fell into his eyes, like a bottomless pit, his sincerity made me doubt if he was the guy whom I saw with the girl. Well, how am I supposed to know, as he leaned closer to me, our lips were about to touch, I stopped him by raising my finger and touched his lips. A cue for him to back off…

“Woah there, lover boy, my lips aren’t yours, I only give my first kiss to whom I shall marry”

“Then you’re in luck, I will marry you after you accept it, I don’t care how long it takes, I won’t consider no as an answer,” he said as he back away and grinned.

“Well if I say no, will always be a no… just let me go, this is a crime you dumbass” I warned.

“Well I have no choice, I searched for you for years and I promised myself to never let you go so I won’t” He grinned.

“Unreasonable! If you won’t let me go, I’ll shout” I said as I tried my ways to get out of his den.

“Heh… I won’t mind, although they might misunderstand something if you do that” a smirk appeared on his face, trying to convey my thoughts for a moment, then I understood what he’s meant. I flustered in embarrassment.

“You shameful bastard!” I cursed, he smiled and he suddenly hugged me. His strong arms made me feel protected, it’s my first time someone hugs me this way, I could feel his heart pounding every second to the moment he breathes.

“Your shameful bastard indeed,” He said.

I tried to push him away but alas, I’m not strong enough to do it, so I rest myself on his shoulders, my eyes feel droopy and I fell asleep in his arms. Zzz

Reil’s POV.

I felt her breath on my chest which tingles down my spine. She didn’t try to push me away anymore, is she asleep? I loosen my grip, seeing my queen rest in my arms. Anna really became stunning over the past few years, well I’m glad she’s not an open person, she hid from this world for 3 years at least no one see her the way I do. I don’t want to show her to the world, I want to keep her by my side, I’m afraid that someone might take her away from me. But when she became mine, I’ll show her to the world, telling them that my wife, Mrs. Rhianna Dellion is mine and only mine, and whoever dares shows disrespect about her will sentence to death. I must make her fall in love with me, after all these years. I can’t bear to waste any time. I have to, I love her and hope one day she will love me too. I carried her back to her sleeping position and tuck her in. I gently kissed her forehead and walk away.

Second Person’s POV.

Rhianna woke up, she yawned as she stretches her arm. She thought that last night's scene was a dream, but seeing the same place made her realize, she wasn’t dreaming at all. She sighed and get up from her bed and look at the time [9:59 AM].

“Ugh! I woke up too early, well I guess I’m hungry all of the sudden” she said as she gone up from her bed and went out of the door. As she walks downstairs to the living room, she saw the maids already waiting for her.

“Good morning Ms. Allura,” they said in unison.

“Good morning, although please call me Rhianna, as I said, no need to be formal with me, by the way, where is your Master?” Rhianna asked.

“He went to work Ms. Rhianna, he said that you can ask us everything…except for the exit,” One of the maids said.

Rhianna pouted. they know that she wants to escape but alas she has to endure this afterward.

“Alright, oh where’s the kitchen again?” Rhianna asked.

“Right this way Ms. Rhianna,” They said as they showed her the way. She saw mesmerized by the gourmets and hotpots been placed on the table. Rhianna sat down as she looked at the maid and smile.

“Come, eat breakfast with me” She said.

All of the four maids are startled by her words. It was their first time someone asks them to eat with their master’s maiden.

“No we shouldn’t Miss Rhianna, we are your servants and we shouldn’t eat with you” One of the maids complains.

“Servants or not, I mean who could eat this all? I don’t like food to be wasted. Come! Don’t be shy” Rhianna exclaimed.

“But our Master said…” but she was cut off

“If your Master scolded you, don’t hesitate to tell me. I’ll teach him a lesson” Rhianna said.

They were startled by her boldness. No one ever acts like this, especially when it comes to the richest man in the country. But still, they hesitated to even reply to her.

“hmm… let’s just say, I commanded you to eat with me since it’s so lonely eating all this by myself. I bet that bastard will understand” She suggested.

They gasped. She even calls him a bastard. Since it was a command, they have no choice but to follow her orders and they all sat down and eat with her. After they’re done eating, Rhianna told them a funny story about her past life, and all of the maids laugh with her. They feel accepted other than the past girls whom they only want their Master’s affection and fortune.

Meanwhile, at Reil’s workplace, A smile appears on his face as he saw Rhianna never changes, she treats all his maids like their friends. Same old kind-hearted Anna, His assistant was startled to see him laugh for the first time. He knew that he finally found the girl he deserves.

“Ok now let me help you with the dishes” Rhianna said as she grabbed her plate. The maids gasped and stood up.

“No Miss Rhianna! we can take care of this, no need to tire yourself” they said.

Rhianna was confused when she saw all the maid’s faces are pale, like they seen a ghost. The maids knew if they make her work, they couldn’t imagine what demon they’ll face afterwards.

“Are you sure?” Rhianna asked.

“Yes Miss Rhianna,” they said in unison.

“Oh… if you need help, don’t hesitate to ask me ok?” she said.

They were amaze, for such person ever existed to this world. They were ashamed to think that Rhianna will be the same as those girls they met so far. Rhianna went out of the kitchen, thinking of exploring the place, maybe she’ll end up in an exit. To her excitement, she decided to explore the mansion. It was huge to start, she went upstairs as she was greeted by the other maids when she walk pass by the hall. She saw a balcony, she walks towards it and look outside, seeing the front yard and the gate. She really wants to go home badly. She sighed as she continues to explore the rest of the place until she saw a very curious door.

“Keep out, oh… very interesting,” she said.

She turns the knob and it opens, she pushes the door open, revealing a piano in the middle of the room. She went near the piano and lifts the lid, seeing its keys in dust.

“Oh… it’s too dusty, let me clean it first” she said.

She grabs the duster and started dusting the piano. When she’s done, she sat down and tested the keys and it works perfectly.

“Huh, I wonder why it has a keep out sign, it’s a very magnificent piano, I guess I’ll play a little song” she said as she started playing the piano.

Reil went inside his office as he looks at the CCTV footage, looking for Rhianna. To his surprise, she went in the room that no one is allowed to enter. He immediately grabs his earplugs as he hears Rhianna play the piano. He smiled and then he saw the maid went in the room, he called the maid immediately.

“Don’t disturb her, just close the door and leave her be” he said.

“Yes Master,” the maid said as she did what she was told.

He zooms in the footage, seeing Rhianna plays the piano beautifully. A flash of memory came to him, in his high school days. He saw her playing the piano in the music club. He always stops by every day when Rhianna plays the piano and listen to its beautiful melody. But when she disappeared, he bought the piano in exchange with a new one. He kept the piano untouched until he found Rhianna and play it for him. Then his assistant came, telling him that the meeting starts in 5 minutes, he tried to refuse it but he explained that it was important. To his disappointment, he put his earplugs down as he follows his assistant out.

“Well that was awesome\, I never played the piano for years *sigh* bring back memories” she said.

She stood up and notices the window. She went near the window and attempt to open it and it did. She looks outside, seeing no one in sight as she looks down, seeing a bush.

“Hmm… he forgot to lock this one since there are no guards in sight, maybe this is my time to escape, welp here it goes,” she said as she climbs out the window and jumps down.

She landed safely in the bushes. It wasn’t that high so she gone up and look both ways and ran towards the gate, seeing the forest.

“Even if he saw me escape, he won’t be able to see me in the forest, unless if he puts security cameras there, I’ll just avoid them, I’m so smart” she said as she went in the forest.

Reil went back, it wasn’t that long so he has time to listen to Rhianna but instead she wasn’t there. He pouted so he tried to look for her but she wasn’t in one of the cameras. He began to worry as he went back to the room with the piano and replay the footage backwards. To his surprise, he saw her went out of the window, he immediately looks at the backyard footage, seeing Rhianna landed on the bushes, then pop out, looking both ways and ran into the forest. He quickly called the guards.

“You IDIOTS! Who’s assigned to guard the backyard?!” he shouted.

“Um Master… you never told us to…” but he was cut off.

“I DON’T CARE! She escaped! She went into the forest, if you can’t find her, I’ll fire you all now SCRAM! Find her immediately” Reil commanded.

“Y…Yes Master right away” One of the guards said and hung up.

He was worried if Rhianna was hurt from that fall even though she just jumped from the second floor.

“*sigh* you’re so reckless Anna\, I guess I have to find you\, don’t you dare ran away from me again” he said as he stood up\, calling his assistant to prepare his car.

Rhianna on the other hand was climbing in the trees, swinging from vine to vine, jumping from branch to branch. She hid quickly when she heard the guards looking for her.

“Damn, I knew it they’ll be looking for me. Well I’m not planning to stay inside anyway. I have a video to make so I better find the road quickly” she whispered as she saw the coast clear and continues to jump to the other branch until she saw the road.

“Finally, now I can go home” she said as she continues her way there.

Reil was in his car, hoping to see her on the road. He went to the other side of the gate which leads inside the forest. It was the only way out there. He reached his destination, seeing his guards just came out of the gate.

“So? Did you find her?” Reil asked.

“No Master, we haven’t,” they said in unison.

“Ugh! Find her now, if she’s hurt, I’ll sue you all!” Reil shouted.

All of the guards went in the forest. He sighs, thinking of Rhianna, wondering if she’s ok. Then as he turned around, he saw her sitting in the porch, sticking her feet in the water. He sighed in relief and called his guards that he found her. He hung up his phone and walks towards her and sat beside her.

“Hey jerk, done working?” Rhianna asked.

“Well not really, I became worried that you jump out of the window, so I came to see if you’re alright” He said.

“Nah, I’m alright, it’s not that big of the deal” she said.

“You know, you never change, being a reckless girl as always, are you trying to make me worried to death?”

“Heh… dream on jerk, I’m trying to escape from here, but now I realized that I never know which way is home so I’m guessing you really wanted to lock me up here are you?”

“Smart girl” he smiled.

“Hmph! You know this is a crime you dumbass, aren’t you scared of going to prison?” she said as she crossed her arms.

“Nah… I’m ready for that, especially for you”

“What a flirt, do you always do this to the other girls?” She asked.

“Are you jealous?” he said as a blush appeared in Rhianna’s face.

“No! Who would be jealous of you? Keep dreaming jerk!” she shouted as Reil grinned.

“Nah, don’t worry, I only act like this when it comes to you Anna” he said which makes her flustered even more.

“Hey let’s make a deal” she said which made Reil confused but he nodded anyway.

“If you could make me fall for you in 3 months, I’ll accept your proposal and if I don’t, you’ll set me free and never bother me again” she said.

Reil look at her, hope came to him quickly as she said that. She gave him a chance even if it’s just for a few months. He felt really happy as he stood up and lift Rhianna up and twirl her around.

“H… hey! Put me down, don’t give your hopes up, If I can’t fall in love with you, then you’ll have to let me go” she said.

“Even if I lose the bet, it’s still my choice if I let you go or not” he grinned.

“Why you, shameless jerk” she exclaimed.

“Ok, ok fine, I promise, then you have to stay here with me for 3 months is that correct?” he asked as she nodded.

“You won’t try to escape?”

“Yes, yes I won’t, I promise,” she said.

As she said that, he trusts her. He knew that Rhianna never broke a promise, but he wonders why she left that day, but still he was so happy that Rhianna give him a chance to prove himself that he loves her.

“So, let’s go home, shall we… my Queen?” he said as he held out his hand.

“Yeah, yeah, you better keep your promise as well Reil” she said.

His eyes widened, she called him with his first name for the first time.

“Did you just call me Reil?” he asked, she blushed.

“Heh…you’re just hearing things jerk, c’mon Reil, I’m starving” she said as she grabs his hand and pull her towards the forest.

He was so happy to believe that if he’s dreaming or not like he doesn’t want to wake up if he does.
