"It's such an honour to be hosting your first interview, Mr. Luther. How is it that even after being at the top of the industries globally for the past 4 consecutive years, you haven't yet debuted in the public circles? Was it-"

"IT'S HIM! THE RUMOURED CEO OF THE CLAVVIER GROUP IS MAKING HIS DEBUT IN THE PUBLIC AND SOCIAL WORLD. HE'S SO HANDSOME!"

"I WANT TO BREAK APART THE TELEVISION AND JUMP OVER THERE TO TAKE HIS PICTURES!"

I banged the tray hard on their table.

"Please refrain from crowding and squealing around the television."

"Are you even a woman, Ava? I'm wet just by seeing him on tv."

Ew.

"I am perfectly able to keep my hormones in check, you see."

"Ugh, just move aside. You're blocking the view!"

Shitty teenagers.

I wiped my hand on the apron and returned behind the counter.

"You look pretty exhausted."

Hailey, my co-worker, patted me on my back.

I gave out a long sigh.

"Today's just not my day. It's just me wanting to quit being a human."

"Sounds tough."

"It would've been nice if I was a bear."

"A bear?"

"One which hibernates all year long."

Hailey laughed.

"Well, Ice Bear thinks Grizzly is being too lazy. So, Ice Bear will hand over the trays to Grizzly and Grizzly will serve tables 2 and 3."

I frowned.

"You're shittier than those teenagers."

"Am I?"

I took the trays and wriggled my way through the crowd surrounding the tv.

"Indeed. My hectic schedule didn't allow me to appear formally in public."

I froze.

"Being the owner of 47% of Clavvier Group's shares and the official CEO, it must have qui-"

His husky voice was too familiar for me to ignore it off.

The same voice which breathed sweet words. The same voice which made me fall in love. The same voice which crushed my world in pieces.

"I will remain faithful as long as you need me, Ms. Elena."

"Ms. Elena is the loveliest person I've ever been with."

"I love you, Elena."

"Elena Clavvier is nothing more than a mere bait for the Clavvier Group be in our hands."

All the memories came flooding back in my mind. It felt as if it was just yesterday when I left that wretched home.

"Ava? Ava?!"

I came back to my senses.

"Y-yeah?"

"Are you okay?"

"Yes."

Of course, I'm okay. Elena Clavvier is not here anymore. He has got nothing to do with me.

Hailey took the trays from my hand.

"Take the rest of the evening off."

"I'm fine." I insisted.

"Atleast sit and rest for a while."

"Yeah, I'll do that."

"-such intellectual remarks! What did motivate you the most to be fixated on the your aim to the top of the industries?"

"The largest amount of shares of the Clavvier Group may be under my name legally but i wouldn't call it mine. I intend to return the shares to the rightful owner. It is one of the main reasons why I accepted an interview."

"...The rightful owner?"

"The heiress of Clavvier family, to be precise."

Gasps erupted throughout the entire cafe.

Of course, it would be shocking to hear that the current CEO, who made the Clavvier group stand among the top three conglomerate in the world, has decided to announce his retirement right when he first appeared in public.

"That's quite shocking. The fallen Clavvier family owns only 13% of Clavvier Group. The heiress who was supposed to inherit the family's business has disappeared into thin air. Meanwhile the eldest adopted son is currently serving a prison sentence. Such an unfortunate family. It was only 5 years ago that the family was successful in each and every way. Rumours say that you were quite close to the previous owner's heiress."

"Yes, we were lovers. We planned to get married right after she became a legal adult. Due to circumstances, the marriage was not carried out. Well, that wouldn't matter since we will be getting married once I get a hold of her."

And with that, cups and phones made a crashing sound as they fell to the ground.

Aiden Luther just proclaimed he was engaged with the fallen heiress of the Clavvier Group whose whereabouts was still unknown.

Meanwhile, the 'heiress', who was casually sipping water at the cafe she worked in, spitted all of the water right on the face of the burqa of her boss, the owner of the café.

Today is just not my day, afterall.
