After running around several blocks few times for a while Nate finds Jake sitting on a bench and he remembered about what Maya said and He hides himself behind a tree few feet away from Jake.
All the things Pete said flashing continuously in my mind with my own memories of my mom as everything rushed up together my vision starts to fade and I manage to find myself a place to sit while my mind still clouded with all things about mom and I said to myself “Deep breaths Jake, Remember the day Mom took you the lake”.
* Deep breaths* And I started to remember about that day at lake, Mom was lying on a grassy meadow and playing with me and everything comes to my mind like it is happening now,
“ *Sound of my mom’s laugh*
Mary : What are you doing, Honey?
Jake : I’m making a bouquet mommy.
Mary : For who honey ?
Jake : To you mommy, It’s your birthday.
Mary : Awww.., Thank you Honey, Its really beautiful.*Kisses cheek*
Jake : Ewww mommy *Rubs cheek*
Mary : *Laughs* What you didn’t like it ?* Grabs Jake and tickles him*
Jake : *Laughter* Stop it Mommy Hahahaha..........
*Hugs Jake tightly*
Mary : Mommy loves you Honey.
Jake : I love you too Mommy.”
Jake opens his eyes with tears rolling down his cheek and with a smile on his face says “I miss you Mom” wipes off his tears and looks up.
When Jake’s about to notice where he is, A familiar face runs past him “Nate ??”
My voice when Nate ran past me “Where is he going ?! Who cares I have my own problems to think about Glad he didn’t see me”.
Second time when he ran past “Where did he come from again am I having a dejavu !! , Certainly not he’s looks tired maybe he forgot to take his purse again”
Again “ Is he jogging ? ,Sh*t !! He saw me !! Why is he standing still?? And now he’s cat walking dude you’re really awkward , Never mind it looks like he’s going back”
When I was about to think that he is going back, He walk past the street and hides behind a tree which is slimmer than him “ What’s he doing ??” His head was tilting from left to right “Wait that’s what he was doing last time when he was spying on our new neighbor for which obviously he got caught and the neighbor calls him perv till now ” .
And as for now it’s really making me awkward when he’s lurking around me like that so I decided to call him out and ask him to go back.
“I can see you Nate” waved hand at him.
Nate walk towards me saying something to himself, he must be blaming himself for not hiding properly or preparing some story for why he was lurking behind that tree.
He walks past me and stands behind a stranger who was sitting few benches next to me and keeps hands on his shoulder and stranger gave him hysterical look and asked him “Yeah, you need anything ?”.
My voice “ Are you kidding me ?!! I literally waved hand at you”.
I called him again “Nate” and waved hand again, He apologized to him and walked towards me with hand on his face, “ What are you doing here Nate ?”.
“ I was just walking lost in thoughts about what happened today you know about you” He tried to say it in more serious way he could but it was still awkward and funny, And I didn’t want to spoil his efforts so I said “ Thank you Buddy But I’m good”.
Nate shocked by reply I guess his eyes where wide opened in surprise or shock it was really hard to differentiate with his hard breaths from running laps in search of me , He gulped in thirst and asked me “You’re Okay !!?? ,I mean after all this you’re still okay ??”.
I tapped his shoulder “ Let’s drink something and talk” and we got up and went to the the cafe nearby.
We took our orders and sat on the vacant table outside the shop and finally I understood what I should do now “Nate I think I should visit Mike” I said , Nate who was about to take a sip just paused for a while as he was after hearing what I said and “ Hmmm.., Are you sure about this ?”, I took my last sip from the cup “I just want to know more about my mom Nate and He’s the only person now who knows about me and mom than Pete” and I looked down “ And I owe him an apology for how I treated him Nate”.
Nate took a sip“ So How’re you going to find him ?” I looked at Nate “I think I know where he’ll be, But before visiting Mike I think I should have a word or two with Pete and Maya”, Nate placed cup on the table and he asked “ Like......??” I stood up “ Like Thanking them for taking good care of me” and saw Nate , He looked confused “ So are you gonna leave Me, Pete and Maya, Jake ?”
“Let’s go back buddy” I taunted him towards our way back to home “I have lot of things to do”.
We walked for a while and Nate called me “Jake, So what about Leah?,What are you going to tell her ?” I looked up”Leah”.
Inside my Mind picture of Leah smiling at me.
And I said to Nate“ I think I know what to tell her Nate”
*phone rings*
I answered “ Jake, where are you I’m in front of your house, Is Pete and Maya back ?” said Leah.
