Prologue

There was a girl, pure and bright, who almost finish her fourth year of college. She has fallen in love with a man that every girl wants as their other half. They always spend time together as if nothing will separate them.

The girl thought that this man is the one whom she will marry in the future. After both graduated from college and worked in the same company, their relationship has become more intimate.

One day

It was the girl’s 24th birthday, her colleagues and friends host a celebration for her. But, she has been waiting for someone else to come too. As the celebration is almost ended,

“ This is from your boyfriend.” The girl’s best friend handed her the letter with a rose attached to it.

In the letter,

Happy Birthday my little rose!

Sorry that I couldn’t attend your party because I have to deal with my family issue. I will be back tomorrow. How about we meet in our secret tunnel at 10 pm? I have a surprise for you.

After finishing reading the letter, the girl hugs her best friend in excitement.

The next day at 10 pm, the couple is holding hands and walking down the tunnel.

“ How is your family?” The girl asked the boy.

“ Everything is handled now.” The boy replied.

When they reach the end of the tunnel, the boy turned to the girl,

“ I have a surprise for you.”

“ What is it?” The girl asked.

“ Close your eyes and you will know,” the boy said in a soft voice.

She closed her eyes and waited. Suddenly, she felt something hit the back of her head and fainted.

When she wakes up, she is being tied up to a chair in a dark room. After a while, the door opens, the person who walks in with a whip has turned her eyes in disbelief.

“ Do you like my surprise?”

“ What are you doing?” She felt her voice shaking.

“ My little rose, do you think that I love you?” The boy said with a smirk.

“ I thought we love each other…” She said in a low voice.

He started to laugh and said, “ Don’t be silly. I want to be with you only because you’re the daughter of Tom Forest.”

“ How did you…”

“  I get close to you only for your background in the beginning.” He said.

He put his hand on her face, “ I will let you pay for what your father has done to my family,” he whispered.

The girl is still confused about what he’s talking about. Then, she remembered what her father was telling her about the Shan family that tried to steal his top company secret, but instead, their companies went bankrupt in one day.

“ You’re the son of the Shan family?”

The boy only smirked and started whipping on her, the girl was screaming with pain. The blood is dripping from her to the floor.

Everything became blank for her when the door was blown open.

What she only remembered was her father’s arms around her,

“ Emily!”
