Mother's Tears

: Daughter, will you come to visit me at this holiday?

: Mom, I'm tired of telling you! I'm travelling abroad for my company work!

: It’s been almost four years, you haven’t came to visit to me for once.

: Mom, I have my own life, get used to this and let me be!

While Charlotte was hanging up the phone, she said, “When she will leave me alone?” Mom heard of it and answered, “Soon, my daughter, soon.”

Mom passed away about a month later...

Charlotte cried and cried at her mom's funeral. When she came back to her home, she cried the whole night for her mom. She couldn’t even eat that day. She just recalled the memories with her mom. She cried saying , “Mommy, please forgive me. Oh God! I will do anything just please bring my mother back!”

Suddenly she heard someone knocking at the door. She opened the door and something happened beyond her expectations. There was an angel in front of her and she was shocked at it. Angel said, “Please don’t get afraid of me, I will bring your mother back. But, the price will be very high!”

: How much do you want? I will give you all the money I have.

: I don’t need your money. The price for your mother will be something different. Are you ready for it?

: I will do anything to bring my mom back. Just tell me what to do.

: You must shed as many tears as your mother did for you. And, then, you'll get your mother back.

: I've already cried out an ocean of tears.

: No, these tears aren’t enough even for a small spring. When you were little, and had a headache, your mother cried with you. When you had a sore throat, your mother was also sick and cried with you. When you bruised your knees, your mom cried cured you with her tears. I have to go now.

Charlotte was confused about it and she asked the angel, “Where are you going? And, what about my mom? Angel replied, “I told you the price. I’ll be waiting for the moment when you can pay it.”

Days, months and years passed by... Charlotte gave birth to a sweet little baby girl.

She shed many tears as while her daughter was growing. First teeth, first bruised knees, first broken heart. Yes, there were some tears of joy. The daughter got married, left home, leaving her mother alone.

One day Charlotte called her grown up daughter. Every time, every moment, passing by, she was thinking about her daughter, she is at her last age, she just wanted nothing but, spending her last age with her only daughter. Her daughter answered her phone. Now Charlotte felt like her heart has been filled enough and she doesn’t want anything else right now. Her daughter started saying, “Mom?”

: Daughter, I feel bad. Please, come to see me.

: Mom, I’m so tired of saying you! I'm busy! I cannot come every time you ask.

Charlotte’s heart broke into pieces after hearing what her daughter said. She wept and cried with pain all night long. Suddenly someone knocked at the door. It was the angel.

: I had forgotten about you!

: But, I always remembered my promise and I have accomplished it.

: But, you haven’t got my mother back?

: Look in the mirror.

She ran into her bedroom and took the mirror. She looked in the mirror. She saw something which she wasn’t expected. She saw her mother in the mirror. She looked just like her mother – white hair, exhausted with worry for her daughter. Her face was covered with wrinkles carved by her tears. Charlotte said with grief, “Mom, please forgive me. Now I understand how many tears you shed for me. As many as I shed for my own daughter.”

The angel left. But, he didn’t leave alone. He took her with him. He’s taken her forever – to a peaceful corner of a paradise, somewhere on a shore of the ocean, where all mothers who have passed away reside.
