The Rise Of The Unknown

The Rise Of The Unknown

The Unkown

The year is 2110.

The World Youth Martial Arts tournament is being held in Delhi, India. The tournament with a total of 1600 young fighters participating is one of the most viewed events in the world. Although there is so much viewership, this tournament is not held for entertainment. Rather it has a completely different and darker purpose behind it. The tournament is held every year to choose the best from the youths and be chosen by the top guilds in the world.

The tournament has very simple rules just like a Grand slam tennis tournament. The age bracket is 13 to 25 years. There will be qualifiers and a main tournament. There will be a total of 264 fighters progressing through the qualifiers to the main tournament. The qualifiers and tournament have the fighters fight each other one on one having a time limit of 15 minutes to knock the fighter down. There is a point system where the player gets 3 points for a critical hit and 1 point for a simple or normal hit landed on the opponent. If the players are not able to knock out each other than these points will decide the winner. There will be a referee to supervise the fight and give out points to the fighters during the fight.

The stadium name in which the tournament is held is called APJ Abdul Kalam stadium. It has a total capacity of 1,23,689 seats. There are VVIP seats, VIP seats and other seats for the audience who came to watch the tournament. The stadium has 24 different arenas with fights held after every twenty minutes. The tournament would be over in just the period of two days as the maximum time for a fight is already set. There are a total of 4 main arenas which has the capacity of approximately 18,000 each. Each arena has a stage made of strange white bricks which looked very hard and difficult to break. No youth fighter has yet managed to break this material. The bricks were laid in a round manner completely flatten out with a diameter of 8 metres. The stages was joint to the arena, so as soon as the fighters enter the arena, they would enter the stage as well. The wall on the sides of the stage were about 3 metres in length, so that the audience seated could have good view without any hindrance.

One of the favorites to win the tournament and the top seed is a young man name Alex Delierro. He had won 4 back to back youth tournaments and is the most promising. This youth has a height of 6'3, short blonde hair spiked upwards, fair skin, large and sharp eyes, nose not large nor small, dressed in a fitting T-shirt and gym pants looking 18 to 19 and handsome enough for the young girls and women of every age to cheer for him by just looking at him. The body of this man is neither bulky nor thin rather that fit T-Shirt shows that this man has a right proportion of muscles. This boy looks cold and his eyes shows disdain for the fighters here as if he is looking down on everyone.

All the other fighters are either dressed in some kind of Martial arts clothes representing there form of martial arts pratcised by them or normal clothes that does not hinder there movements during the fights.

Apart from Alex there are two other favorites. A girl with fair skin looking the same age as Alex and a man with a fit and bulked body. The girl name is Du Lin having an East Asian look. She has a slim body with no fats in any part of her body. Her eyes narrow and beautiful as if they can pierce the person they see. Her hands delicate, her hair black tied in a ponytail and long enough to touch her thighs. With a stature one head shorter than Alex wearing a sleeveless T- shirt and fitting shorts showing her slim legs and curvy figure. She looked as if she is some kind of supermodel. However her calm temperament shows that she is not someone to be messed with.

The other fighter was tall with a stature of 7'3 and has a bulky and well shaped body. His arms looked as if they punched someone or something a hole would be driven right through. This man with black hair, black eyes, oval face, dark skin, a scar on the forehead looks scary for people and other fighters to ran away from him. However he looked as if he doesn't cares for any of those things. His eyes looks fierce, as if he is ready for fight anytime. He was wearing a wrestling suit and just by looking at him people can guess that he is a wrestler. Although he has fierce eyes he looks young. This tall fighter name is Janine Kwayne and age seems to be 2 to 3 years older than Alex.

Alex, Lin and Janine are the top three seeds of the tournament, the three winning 16 youth tournament altogether. Alex has the most wins with 7, Lin winning 5 and Janine winning 4. All three have faced each other with Alex leading and never lost either of them and Lin having a winning ratio of 4:3 against Janine. Just like a grand slam tennis tournament players are seeded with the player likely to win seeded top and next likely winner seeded below and do not need to go through the qualifiers.

There are also other talented fighters having won different youth tournaments and have participated in this grand tournament to prove there skills and hard work. Among the 1600 fighters, there is a man standing on the sidelines who is completely unnoticed as if he is air. It's common to be unnoticed, if you are not famous enough and he was not only one here. There are many others like him here trying there luck. This man is neither seeded, nor has he won any tournaments. Not many fighters recognize him. This young man has unkept medium hair which reaches just below his shoulders. The hair covers his forehead entirely, and bangs covering parts of his eyes and nose. People would wonder how does he even manages to see. Even both the sides of his face are partly covered by his hair. His skin seems a slight shade of dark, having black eyes if seem closely by someone. These are the only visible features one can see about this man. His sense of clothing is also seems to be odd. He was wearing a full sleeve loose T-Shirt with the collar covering his neck and only his hands visible to the eye. He wore a loose sweat pant with sneakers on his foot.

It's 10:51 AM and qualifiers starts on 11:00 AM and the main tournament starts on 8:00 PM. During this time the fighters were getting different kinds of advises from there masters, teachers, instructors, parents.

It's 11:00 AM and the qualifier begins.

The very first match was held in arena with a capacity of 3,000. It is the smallest arena in the stadium. The match was held between the strange boy with the unkept hair and loosely dressed and a fighter name Yolan Serankovic. Yolan could have been seeded if not for his leg injury occurred to him 3 months ago. Being a Judo Karate practitioner he injured his leg and had to go through treatment which kept him out from the youth tournament for three months. He seems to be fit now and is the massive favourite among the two. Even the audience seems to recognize him and cheering for him. Between all the qualifier matches this one has the largest occupancy.

Referee instructs the fighters about the rules of the fight and advises them to have a fair fight. The fighters can fight with any technique and weapons. They are allowed to hit any part of the body that is visible to their eyes. However they can't kill the opponent. The rules often at first confused the people, if the fighter can hit anywhere he wants and being martial artist if he gets a critical hit on the opponent than there is huge chance of opponent to die. However as the tournament has progressed every year the people got to know that referees hired for this tournament are all high skilled, experienced fighters who can judge the fight accurately and intervene during the fight or stop the fight if necessary. That's one of the reason there is no separate jury hired for the matches.

Referee signals the fight to start.

Both the fighters first start by looking at each other, judging each other movements. After a few moment Yolan starts the first attack by shortening the distance between the two and kicks towards the abdomen of the opponent with his right leg. The strange man does not seem to move which seems strange even to Yolan as this move was only meant to distract the opponent and was not his quickest and did not contain all his power as he does not know what kind of technique the opponent uses neither his fighting style. He was being cautious even though the opponent was not well known. Just as Yolan's kick was about to hit the strange man disappeared from his sight and was nowhere to be found. However Yolan did not had the momentum as his kick was still on motion. At this time the strange man appeared at the left side of Yolan and with a movement fast enough a punch that can pierce through air was driven right into the chest of Yolan. Yolan was not able to stop due to his momentum and could only take the punch right into his chest. When the punch landed he felt as if cannon was shot right into his chest. Yolan shot through the air and landed on the ground 5 meters away. Referee went to the side of Yolan as he felt that the punch just now was an insta-kill. Referee was right and when he reached Yolan he was already unconscious. Referee saw the strange boy and immediately declared him the winner of the fight. The crowd cheering for Yolan went silent immediately. There was so much silence as if a pin dropped right now would be heard.

Just like that the strange boy who was a complete underdog, unknown and unnoticed won a match against an opponent who could have been seeded and it took only punch.

The crowd became curious and found the man name was Ali as the referee announced the name of the winner. This is how the strange unknown man named Ali introduced himself to the world.
