Heading towards home, driving through the hot mid day traffic she gets caught up in the thoughts of all what she had gone through as a kid growing up wasn't easy at all, coming from a broken home raised by a single mother with two other siblings she had to face the struggle of taking up all the responsibility of the house🏠 since her mum was a drunkard and a drug addict who wasn't at home most of the time because she was out drinking or high off some drugs and idling about elsewhere. Toyhara had to come up with money💰 somehow because she was the only one who had to take care of her siblings her mum and herself.

Facts was that she wasn't from a poor family, it was quite contrary to that, she was staying with her dad and stepmom till she left home at the age of ten and went to her mum's place because treatment from her stepmother was horrible, she didn't treat Toyhara well in anyway, always piling up work for her, sending negative complaints about her to her dad and asking her to be repeated at school despite the fact that she was a very intelligent little girl and the best in her school, beating her at every little mistake to the extend of even starving her, she was mul-nourished. Toyhara just wanted to be with her mum but life at her mum's wasn't good either, everything seemed perfect and she seemed to be happy with her little family till at the age of fourteen everything came crushing down. Toy's mum lost her job as a bank manager, her husband left her alone with two kids which made her fall into depression till she fell sick and became bed ridden, Toy thought she was gonna lose her mum at that point when she came back from school with her siblings one afternoon and saw her mum laying in bed, mum had lost weight all of a sudden and she looked very pale and weak she looked half dead, Toy cried at the sight because she knew at that point there was nothing she could do to save her...the only money she has on her was a dollar and a few cents which she intended to use to buy food for her little siblings and her mum to eat. At that point she run outside and dropped to her knees on the ground, bowed her head and let out a silent prayer to God (sobbing) "You said you were the greatest, the almighty, the alpha and the omega, the starting point and the destination of life, all knowing and all powerful, yet you can't even save a lowly weak woman from dying, are u really the same person the Bible talked about, the creator of heaven and earth, how could you be powerless right now, I've always had faith in you and believed in you, why do you turn your back on me today?, : why would you betray me?,... if really you are the almighty God that you say you are, I humbly ask you to save my mum, I beg of you to cure her right now and save my mum... if you do not do this for me, I swear to never have faith in you again, if my mum dies I would denounce your name and disbelieve in you existence in this world today".

After having this little argument with God she left the house and went to sit at the seaside all day, she really didn't have the courage to go back inside the house. It was almost midnight and she finally went back to the house, entered the room and her mum was still asleep and hadn't woken up yet, she sadly went inside the room and laid down on the bed 🛏️ her siblings walked to her, she had forgotten all about them...she rushed out to get some food for them to eat.

The next morning Toy had woken up late. She went outside and saw her mum sitting under the mango tree, she was overwhelmed had my prayers worked? she thought God really listened to me! words couldn't explain how happy she was and she couldn't stop the tears that rolled down while she walked towards her mum. "why are you crying, what's wrong?" her mum asked very concerned about why her daughter was crying, Toy just shook her said and told her it was fine and not to worry.

Months passed by after this and things seemed not to be working at all. Toy's mum had been searching for work for a long time and hadn't found any, she had dropped applications at different companies but had received no call and she was getting desperate, there was rent to pay, tuition fees for her children and a lot of petty bills. She was already asked to pack out of the house because they hadn't paid rent for the past year and a couple months now. Toy had already left school some few months ago to come stay at home because her she owed tuition fees and couldn't go to school without paying, there were some days when they had to go hungry because there was no money, Toy's mum worried for her kids while Toy worried about her younger siblings. Days later they were finally sacked to move out of home and they had nowhere to go, they wondered the streets and sometimes had to beg for food till they came to the outskirts of town where there was just this one isolated house where a man and his wife lived. They stopped beside the house, placed their belongings down and slept under the shed of the house. The next early morning the woman of the house which Toy and her family had slept was taking a morning walk in her house and came saw this family sleeping under her shed, she quickly stepped back silently and went back to tell her husband what she saw, he followed her back and saw them still laying down, they decided not to wake them and waited till they woke up. Toy quickly woke her mum up when she saw the man and his wife sitting there staring at them, her mum stood up quickly and greeted them "err..good...good morning sir, ma'am we're very sorry, my children and I were very tired last night and had nowhere to go that's why we laid here for the night, we're really very sorry " ...the man answered "it's okay, we decided not to wake you up, we had been sitting here enjoying the fresh air while waiting for you, as u can see we're a old couple" (he smiled) the way the man talked gave them a strange sense of warmth - (the man continued) "who are you and why would you sleep outside of a stranger's house on the cold floor and with children with you, you can talk to us".

Toy's mum explained their situation to the old man and his wife and the man decided to help accommodate them since they had planned on moving out if the old house the next day and actually had no one to take care of it. Since then that house became Toyhara and her mum's only home and the old man and his wife became their family even though they had moved out of the house and gone to the city and left the house to Toy and her mum and siblings, they came there once in a while to visit.

Now that Toyhara, mum and her little siblings had to worry no more about where to put their heads, they had worries about where to get money to keep themselves sustained. No money, no work even though they tried and Toy had to drop out of school to help her mum cater for the house. Months passed by her and mum had suddenly turned to drinking and using drugs sedatives. Her depression had kicked back. Toy became worried for her mum because sometimes mum would be out of home for days while Toy was worried about her whereabouts and had to take care of her siblings, she was worried her mum's alcohol and drug condition had become serious and could destroy her mum's life. Days her mum would come home were just a few and she kept wondering where her mum goes.

(beep beep!!!) A car honked from behind, Toyhara had been lost in her thoughts and hadn't realized the traffic finally began to move. She sped off, stopped by a five star restaurant to eat. From there she went by the seaside and listened to old Celine Dione music with the sound high in her ears till it was almost midnight.
