Finding You Again...
\~Suzuki Haru\~
“It has been a month since I entered that competition... I should be receiving the final results today. The
results that will tell me whether or not I will be able to enter Kyoto University. Japan’s most famously hard-to-get-in clloge which gives me the best chance to find the cure for Sakura... she’s been locked up in that
hospital for too long. All I want is for her to be able to run again... just like she used when she was 5. I will find a way to get you out of there little sister, wait just a bit longer for your big brother to find the cure-“
“Oi! Haru! Stop moping around and get down here! The results are here!”
“Wah?! Why didn’t you tell me earlier old hag?! Stay right there I’m coming!”
Haru jumps off his bed and rushes to his bedroom door. And fails miserably at opening his own door
properly and bumps his head against it. He then finally manages to open the door after several rushed tries and runs down the hallway and onto the stairs... only to fall down step by step.
“Ow! Why does every part of this house despise me? I respect each and every corner properly and clean it every day!”
“Humph. You don’t clean it you idiot, I do. You just either sit in your room buried in your books or watch TV. And I seem to have lost my hearing but what did you call me before?”
“I called you the best grandma ever, grandma. You innocent grandchild would never say anything against you dearest grandma.”
“Idiotic buffoon. It’s right in front of you.”
Haru picked the letter up. Sweat starting to form on his brow. It was what he had been waiting for, one whole month had gone by and this was finally it. So why didn’t he want to open it? Why was he so scared?
How was he supposed to help Sakura if he couldn’t even open an envelope? Haru slowly raised his fingers, ready to open it up...
“Oh for heavens sake! I’ll do it you lazy dog! Can’t even open a letter, expects to become a doctor!”
Grandma read the letter again and again with a grave face. Her expression was sad. All of a sudden hit the floor. Was the news that bad?! He had failed? Then he noticed something... grandma was shaking all over... and... she was laughing?
“You passed you idiot! You got the highest scores and you passed! You’re going to Kyoto University! And I’m getting more space to myself!”
Haru’s eyes were watering as he hugged his grandmother. He was a step closer to achieving his dream and freeing Sakura! And... wait did grandma say she was going to get extra space? Was that really why she was laughing?
“Grandma-?”
“Shut up. I’m happy for you. And me too. Now I won’t have you as extra luggage. Come on I made your favorite dumplings.”
