Doctor Visit

After returning to her room, Hera immediately changed the dress Freya picked for her that morning into her own worn-out black dress, she sat on her usual chair near the window to catch her breath for a while before going out.

Hera closed her eyes, her fingers tip tapping into the cold window beside her. She pushed her window wide open and took a deep breath before closing her eyes, enjoying the wind that caressing her face.

After Hera woke up that night she started to forget something, as if someone intentionally blocked most of her memory, leaving nothing but a piece of memory about the condition of her family and what she has been doing so far.

At first, Hera ignored that feeling but the more she fell asleep and woke up the next day the more her heart and mind became empty and numb than before. The only thing that could warm her cold heart was when Hera spent her day with Alicia, the only person that cared enough about her well being from the beginning to the end.

Thinking back of what Hera did to make that little girl cry and hurt, suddenly makes her feel guilty. That little girl remained innocent even after Hera’s death, she was just someone that took away Hera family love and attention, the two things that she had been wanting for her entire life. Something that will never come true.

“Lady Hera…” Michael's voice made Hera turn her gaze towards the door, which was already wide open. Behind him, a man with white robe and large suitcase stands in silence, waiting for Michael to introduce him to Hera.

Hera narrowed her eyes before looked away, ignoring those who just walked into her room without even knocking on the door. Even if she said something they would never listen to her, moreover Hera didn't want to deal with anyone from this family for some time. If she stayed quiet they would continue to ignore her, like always.

After receiving no answer from Hera, Michael slowly approached Hera's seat, followed by the doctor who was ordered by The Duke to check Hera's condition.

“Lady Hera, this is Sir Aaron.” Michael introduced the man behind him to Hera, “The Duke has requested Sir Aaron to check your condition, Milady.” He announced his intent and purpose in coming to Hera's room.

“Hn…” Hera made a few sounds of response, can no longer ignore them.

It’s been two… or is it three days since she came back to that night. Hera couldn't remember exactly when, but she just realized how weak her body was compared to when she had woken up at the previous chances. Even after Hera fell asleep for a whole day, buried in blankets, she still felt extremely cold.

"Excuse me, Milady." Sir Aaron pulled the other chair and sat beside Hera, he held out his hand to her. "Could you stretch out your hand, Milady?" Sir Aaron, the family exclusive doctor, stated with a little bit respect in his voice for Hera. His delicate hands soon pressing on Hera's cold wrist, looking for her pulse.

Soon enough, Sir Aaron's gaze immediately looked serious. He pulled his hand away from Hera's wrist, "Excuse me for a moment, Milady." Then his index and middle fingers were already on her neck, making Hera stare at him coldly, but still let his warm fingers pressing on her neck.

For a while they just stared at each other in silence, one with a cold gaze in her eyes and the other showed a deep concern for her.

"I'm sorry for the impudence, Milady." Sir Aaron stood up from his chair, stepped towards Hera's bed and took one of the thick blankets which was immediately wrapped around Hera's body.

"How have you felt these days, Milady?" Sir Aaron asked.

"I'm fine." Hera mumbled, she reached out for her already cold tea and took a slow sip.

"... How about your meal?" He asked another question with a deeper frown on his face.

Before Hera could answer that, Freya knocked on the door of her room which was still open and walked in with a closed silver salver in her arms. Her expression looked professional, way different from the expression she showed Hera in the morning.

"Your breakfast, Milady." Freya glanced at Michael and Sir Aaron nervously before putting the silver salver on the table in front of Hera, she secretly threw a warning look at Hera so she wouldn't open the cover while Michael and Sir Aaron were still with them.

Hera only grinned lightly and continued to ignore her, waiting for Sir Aaron to ask her another question.

"Is this her meal?" Sir Aaron redirected his question to Freya, who could only nod when suddenly asked like that.

The maid suddenly panicked when she saw Sir Aaron open the lid of the salver and was dumbfounded by the food they served to the first Lady of Silverna household.

With a paled face Freya slowly retreated, her head bowed deeply, but she secretly glanced towards Sir Aaron. Trying to see what kind of expression the man who had been silent for quite a while was showing.

"What's the matter, Sir Aaron?" Michael, who has been silent the entire time, chimed in when no one made a sound for a while.

When Michael slowly approached them, Freya looked more panicked than before. She even tried to block Michael's steps, but then froze in her place with just a sharp gaze from Michael.

"You dare to give this disgusting food to your master?" Sir Aaron suddenly growled furiously, he couldn't even hold back his anger and slammed the silver lid he was still holding towards Freya, who screeched away in horror.

"Freya…" Michael looked down at the funny looking puree Freya served for Hera's meal, "What does this mean? Did you or did you not try to serve your master with this kind of meal?" Michael's tone was flat, but from his expression, that man seemed to be holding back his emotions.

"... Th-that's not… It-it's was Lady Hera… Yes… La-lady Hera always requested this meal…" Freya tries to accuse Hera, who just sat there watching them quietly. "Yo-you heard it too, right, Michael… Back in the dining room, she requested for this meal." She added to her accusation.

Of course Michael remembered what Hera said back then, he even repeated what Hera had said in front of sir Aaron. "According to what I heard, Lady Hera asked for her usual breakfast."

"Usual meal? You said she always eats this? What about her other meal?" This time Sir Aaron sat back in his chair, looking straight into Hera's eyes. "How many meals did you have for a day?"

Hera sighed while massaging her forehead slowly, her head was spinning because of the uproar in her room.

"... I can't eat other food aside from this. Even though it looks like this, the taste is not bad." Hera replied casually, "I couldn't care any less about my meals."

Sir Aaron and Michael were stunned by Hera's casual answers. They were silent for several minutes, trying to digest the information they had heard from Hera's own mouth.

"Freya get out of here. Go back to your room and wait for my command for this matter." Michael stated, his cold expression started to crack, a strange emotion began to appear on his face.

Freya came out of Hera's room with her head dropped deeply, her hands clenched tightly on both sides of her body when the door to Hera's room was closed tightly in front of her eyes.

Michael walked towards Hera and knelt in front of her, "Tell me the truth, Milady. What do you mean you can't eat other food aside from that dish?"

"I just got used to it." Another casual answered from Hera.

"Milady, do you have any discomfort in your body?" Sir Aaron, who already calmed down from his anger, threw another question to Hera.

Sir Aaron really needed some explanation from Hera about her condition before he could give his diagnosis to The Duke.

Apart from her cold body temperature, her very weak pulse and the meals she always ate, he didn't know anything about Hera.

"I feel fine, really. Nothing wrong with me." Hera chuckled, she smiled weakly, her eyes narrowed down. "I want to rest now."

"..."

The two men stayed silent, not moving an inch from their place and just staring at her for a long time, trying to find something… anything that was wrong about her, maybe her gesture that indicates something.

Received no answers from the two men in front of him, the smile on Hera's face faded, her cold face looked tired and more paled.

"Could both of you please let me eat my breakfast in peace and rest?" She asked rather politely to the two men. "Just come back another day and if I still am not look fine… then I will answer anything you want to ask me."

Hera didn't know if her words could convince them to leave her alone or not, but she really didn't want to see or talk to anyone right now.

"Alright. I will be back in two days. But from now on please try to eat another meal gradually." Finally, Sir Aaron sighed, he gave in to Hera's requests.

"Hn… I will try." Hera smiled and made an empty promise to Sir Aaron without him knowing.

Shortly, Michael led Sir Aaron out of Hera's room, leaving her all alone. But before he could close the door, Hera called out his name, made him stare at her with his slightly raised eyebrows.

"Tell him that next time… don't care about me. Don't look for me. Just leave me alone, as usual."
