Chapter 1

"Wake up Harold we are getting late ", Her mom shouted from downstairs.

He came out of his bed watching his messy hair in the mirror in front of him.

He used to watch himself in the mirror everyday to see how unattractive he is .

He hated himself for his looks . He was a bookworm , always reading and learning, he never groomed himself . He was skinny and had pale skin . He was tall too. His hair were always messy . He was briliant in academics but pathetic in sports. Only thing in life of which was happy about were his friends Ashley and Mark . They were his childhood friends , they were the only one who didn't judged him on the basis of his looks like others also they never made fun of his looks instead they always supported him everytime and used to take stand for him . Harold too loved them a lot . They used to share everything with each other but Harold had one regret about hiding a secret from them .

"I don't think I would be able to tell them about this ever", Harold thought.

He went to the bathroom to have bath , brushed his teeth and reached downstairs where his mother was preparing breakfast .

"Hurry up Harold I don't think you would like to make your friends wait for you ",Her mother said politely.

"Yeah , I don't want too especially Mark he'll go mad at me" ,Harold laughed.

"Mark is really overexcited because he'll meet his girlfriend Mary after 1year , he made me mad after constantly talking about her from last one year . He really loves her . Ashley joked that Mark will hug Mary so hard that she would have to call the security to separate them . When Mary took admission in ST .George Medical University , Downhill. Mark made me and Ashely promise that next year we will join the same college obviously we had no choice so we had to agree also I wanted to be a doctor and here is the day we are going to ST .George , " Harold said while eating his sandwich.

Harold dressed up and hugged her Mom .

"U have grown really fast , I'm proud of you. Her mom had tears in her eyes .

"I love you mom u have made so much sacrifices for me you have worked so hard since Dad passed away",Harold said .

" I love you too Harold . Don't listen to what people say about your looks for me your the most handsome boy in the world . Even if in the university people tease you please don't get offended instead ignore them . You are really kind hearted , you are beautiful from inside ",Her mom hugged her more tightly .

"I think we should leave Harold, looks like your friends are waiting outside," her mom said .

Harold went outside and hugged Ashley and Mark .

"Goodmorning aunt Pansy ", Mark and Ashley said.

"Goodmorning " Ms Darwin gave a smile to them .

All of them sat in the car with their suitcases in the boot of the car .

"I wasn't able to sleep the whole night because of excitement of meeting Mary , can u imagine I waited for fucking one year ", Mark said .

"Can you just calm down Marky and stop acting mad " Ashley replied.

"When will you stop calling me by that name you know I hate that", Mark said in a changed tone.

"That's why I call you by that name because you hate that and I love to annoy you,"Ashley replied with a evil smile.

"That's what u expect from you ,maniac" , Mark said .

"I'm not a troublemaker , you are what do you say about this Harold," Ashley asked.

But Harold was lost in his own world he was watching the passing houses , trees , and clouds .

"Harold !!, "Ashley said in a raised voice .

"Sorry , what were you saying" Harold who just came out of his dreamy world replied.

"I was asking do you also think Mark is the troublemaker?," Ashley asked.

Harold knew that Mark is the real trouble maker but then he looked fiery eyes of Mark which he thought were warning him and said" I think you both are equal in troublemaking," He laughed . He laughed to make Ashley calm down who's face turned red .

Harold explained Mark that he should not tease Ashley because she recently had her breakup . That boy she loved the most used her both physically and mentally . She had gone through a tough phase . She doesn't show us but from inside she is still broken . Mark agreed after this and apologised to Ashley

"You'll pay for this ," Ashley warned .

They reached ST .George after 3 hours long drive .

" Mary was right ,this is really a big building " Mark said with a shine in his eyes .

"Yeah we can see that . I think the left portion is the dormitory and right one is the portion where we'll have our classes," Ashley said .

All three of them said goodbye to Ms Darwin. Harold hugged her for the last time .

"Don't worry Ms Darwin we'll take care of Harold " Mark said .

They reached the dormitory and checked their room number after document verification . Ashley's room number was 20 and she had to share it with a girl named Stella . Mark and Harold's room number was 15 . Mark and Harold reached their room it had two beds , one bathroom and a study table .

"I'm going to find Mary , would you like to join me " Mark asked .

"No , I'm tired . I want rest " . Harold replied and laid down on the bed.

Mark rushed outside to find Mary .

Harold then sat on the study table took out his books and the diary which he had started writing after his father's death . He didn't wrote daily in the dairy , instead he used to write major events of his life in the diary .

He took his pen and wrote [Task Completed] and put that diary back .

Harold ran from here to there , he was searching something . He stopped after he found it . She was a girl with black hair, dark black eyes , long hairs

She was really beautiful. Specially her eyes were magnificent . Time stopped for Harold everything stood still he was just watching her and smiling . He was mesmerized . He stood there till she went in her class room . Harold was in the right portion of the building . He was very happy after so much time . He was going back to his room but when he entered left portion of the building Mark saw him .

"You said you want rest Harold ," Mark asked .

"Yeah, I needed some fresh air too ," Harold replied.

"Inside the building ?" Mark questioned.

" I was lost and if you are done with your inquiry session can we got to Ashley?" Harold said calmly.

"Yeah we'll go but I have a sad news," Mark looked disappointed.

"What happened Mark?" Harold asked.

"I wasn't able to find Mary now I'll have to wait for the fresher's party where second year students will also come. She must be having her classes and I didn't wanted to disturb her studies. I'll surprise her tonight in the party ," Mark said .

"Cool!" Harold said .

"Let's go to Ashley" . Mark said .

They reached room number 15 . The door was closed .

"You think we should knock," Harold asked .

"Have we ever knocked before?" Mark smiled .

Mark kicked the door and entered like a cop . A girl who was sitting on the study table got scared and fell from the chair . She got hit on the face by the book which she was reading .

Mark laughed. Harold ran towards her, gave her his hand to get up . She was finally standing in front of them after struggling a lot to get up .

Harold gave her specs which was lying on the ground .

"Are you alright?" Harold asked .

"Yeah , I am alright but my nose hurts ," She said in a sweet voice .

Even Harold and Mark found her voice to be sweet .

She was a little smaller from Harold and Mark . She wore specs . She

was very good looking . She had small pair of lips .

" Sorry ,alright". Mark said .

"My name is not alright , I'm Stella ". The girl said . Her voice was melting their ears.

"Thank you , sorry but what's your name ," She asked Harold .

"I'm Harold and he's Mark we are Ashley's friends " Harold said.

Mark noticed that while talking to Harold ,Stella wasn't even blinking her eyes . It looked like she was lost in him .

"Where's Ashley, " Mark interrupted .

"She went outside I don't know why ,"

Stella replied .

When they both were about too leave.

Stella said " you can wait here " .

But Mark noticed that it looked like she is saying this only too Harold.

"So tell us about yourself ," Mark asked .

"I came here on the basis of scholarship . I come from a small town Yorkstar . I love to read and learn , I just study , study and study , my friends used to call me bookworm.

But here I don't have any friends . My parents have so much expectations from me because they are really proud of me . I have always been teacher's favourite kind of student."

Stella said.

"Don't worry we can be your friends here and I would like to mention Harold is also a bookworm , he's always in the books , he speaks very less , he's the topper of the school .

And I'm a the kind of guy who lives life to the full . I want to enjoy every second of life. By the way I have a girlfriend too she's in second year in this university . Her name is Mary ."

Mark said .

"I have never been in a relationship because I never had the time , also I considered relationships to be waste of time . The only two persons I love are my mom and dad . But I also want to experience someday how does it feels to be in love. " Stella said .

"It's the most beautiful feeling the world ." Harold said in a low tone .

" How do you know Harold you have never been in a relationship because we're always in the books." Mark asked.

"I don't know " Harold replied .

"And I would like to correct you I have never been in a relationship not because I was always in the book but the real reason is that I'm unattractive." Harold said .

"Not this shit again , I have told you a thousand times you are not unattractive." Mark protested.

"Exactly you are not". Stella said .

"Thanks Stella" . Harold gave a little smile .

Stella took Harold's hand and rubbed the back of his hand with her thumb and said "never ever think about it again."

Harold felt strange but he felt good from inside . This was the first time a girl holded her hand .

Mark was looking these two without blinking .

"What's happening guys ," Ashley said from the entrance of the room.

Stella removed her hand quickly . She was blushing . Her cheeks turned pink.

"Carry on guys" Ashley laughed .

"It's not like that,"Stella said .

"I was just joking guys ." Ashley said .

Harold felt really uncomfortable after what has just happened .

"Where were you," Harold asked Ashley trying to change the topic .

"I was just exploring the building ." Ashley said.

"So what are the plans for tonight's party ." Ashley asked.

"I'll definitely go because Mary is coming." Mark said.

" I'll come too." Harold said .

"Stella are you in?" Ashley asked .

" Sorry guys but I have never gone into parties so I won't be able to make it ." Stella said .

" Come on Stella you should come" Mark and Ashley said .

"I told you I'll not feel comfortable there , sorry guys." Stella said.

" You should come Stella , it'll be alright. But we'll not force you, last decision is yours " Harold said .

" I'll think about it ." Stella said .

"I think we should go to get ready." Mark said .

" I definitely have too look good for Mary, Also I'll be making Harold dress up good . " Mark said in an exciting voice .

Mark and Harold went to their room.
