Flamboyant Love

Flamboyant Love

Chapter One

The gentle breeze of the wind softly hits the skin of Augustus as he sat down underneath a mango tree, he was quite up the hill so he quietly observed the small village where he lived down there. A small smile crippled onto his lips as he took out his pen and white sheet of paper. He began to write down words that will be perfect for his next book, for him it's incredibly easy to make a story. But today it seems, different

Augustus furrowed his brows as his grip on his pen tighten up, he began to think on what to write next but sadly nothing came up on his mind. He let out a loud sigh as he covered the tip of his pen and put everything in his bag. He wondered for a minute, why's that he can't think of anything today? Is it because he doesn't have any inspiration? Or maybe because he wanted to write something's that's different from what he usually do

Augustus leaned his head on the mango tree and closed his eyes, carefully listening to his surroundings, the soft breeze of the wind, the birds chirping, and the rustling of the leaves. Everything is too familiar. He smiled, yup this is home

He continued to close his eyes without worrying too much about anything, maybe he needed rest, yeah, maybe he does. And when his mind is finally peaceful, he can continue his ongoing story later

Suddenly he hears footsteps walking on the grass heading towards him. Augustus opened his eyes and smiled at the person in front of him

"Good day seeing you here Augustus." The person in front him greeted

Augustus' smile widened after hearing those words. "It definitely is a good day Raphael." He replied back and look at the village

Raphael is a good friend of him, always there when he needed someone to talk. Rafael may be stubborn and cocky at all times, but he is very wise and loyal to people he cared about

Augustus felt Raphael sat next to him as he whispered words about the village. "Beautiful isn't it?" Raphael asked

Augustus nodded. "Indeed my friend, who knew this village will involve year after year. It's hard to believe that our village is one of the poorest before, where people died because of dehydration, starvation, and illness. It's incredibly painful to remember." He shook his head with a painful expression written on his face

"But look at our village, it's very peaceful, lively, and beautiful. Like all of the past incidents where people suffered here never happened." He extended his arm, pointing at the village below

Raphael laughed. "It is truly beautiful, my friend."

They both sat down underneath the tree, silence engulfing them, yet it wasn't depressingly quiet. It's more like peaceful and they both know it, minutes of not talking and sitting. Raphael then suddenly broke down the silence

"I came here to tell you that Lord Franklin wanted to invite you to his party later." Raphael stated

Augustus sighed. "You know how much I hate parties and social interaction Raphael. I also don't like Lord Franklin, God knows how greedy that man can be."

"I know but Lady Caitlyn is also there, she will be extremely blue if she doesn't see you." Raphael teased him

He groaned. "Oh goodness, that witch? That's enough reason for me to not go anymore then."

Raphael laughed at his reaction. "You really hate Lady Caitlyn do you Augustus?"

Augustus scoffed. "Correction. I hate women."

Lady Caitlyn is one of the few women who desired him, she is Lord Franklin's only daughter and his only heiress at the right time, he never liked her since she always humiliate low class people and treat them like rubbish behind everybody's back. But when she's in front of high class aristocrats including him, she became sickeningly sweet and innocent. It irritates him to the core

"I'm not gonna go and that's final. Tell them I'm sick or something, I don't care if Lady Caitlyn go blue." He replied in a more stern voice

"Well then, if you're not gonna go, then I also won't." Raphael sighed

Augustus looked at him. "And why not? Lord Franklin will be displeased if you're also not gonna show up."

Raphael just shook his head. "I don't like parties Augustus, you already know that. And also I have a plan today." He wiggled his brows, smiling like a madman

Augustus frowned. "I don't like the expression of your face."

"Come on it will be fun, plus Vincent will be there also." He pouted

"Fine, tell me." Augustus sighed

Raphael beamed. "I was thinking that the three of us should go on a vacation. You know, travel to different villages."

"I don't know about that Raphael. I have a story to publish, you know how important that is to me" Augustus frowned

"Oh come on Augustus, just this once. You need to relax once in a while." Raphael pursues him

"I really can't Raphael, you know I would definitely go with you two if I don't have anything to do. Just not this time." Augustus tried to make Raphael understand him

Raphael sighed. "Guess I can't force you to come. I understand Augustus, your work is important to you. I'm sorry for persisting you."

Augustus patted Raphael's back. "Hey, no worries. When I publish my written works. I'll be gladly to go on a vacation."

Raphael stood up and arrange his shirt. "You better promise us man, you're gonna pay for the trip next time."

Augustus laughed. "Yeah, yeah. I will."

He watched as Raphael slowly disappear from his sight. He then began to stood up and remove bits of grass stuck on his pants, when he saw no bits anymore. Augustus began to walk back down to their village, thinking where should he go

As he stepped in their village. He noticed the people preparing for Lord Franklin's party, he also saw Lady Caitlyn wearing her most revealing dress ever while screaming at her maid for the wrong choice of jewelry. He sighed as he swiftly disappear in the corner, completely avoiding Lady Caitlyn, knowing her when she accidentally saw him. She will bombard him with personal questions and flirty gestures

Augustus managed to return to his house without being noticed, it's not that he feared talking to people, he just doesn't want to. As if it's a waste for his time, he rather spend time writing stories than having a chatter time with someone he barely know

He entered in his house as he removed his coat and put it on the rack beside the door, he then removed his shoes and leave it on the side. Augustus goes to his work room and slowly opened the door. There he was met by a messy and hideous room, everywhere he look are all papers and dry ink

He looked at the scattered and crumbled papers on the floor, he sighed and close the door as he immediately go towards his bedroom and lay down, he doesn't feel writing today. Augustus closed his eyes slowly drifting to the darkness completely ignoring the preparation outside of his house

Augustus was suddenly awoken by the loud voices and fireworks. He tiredly opened his eyes and looked outside his window, there he saw people wearing their fancy dresses and cocktails on their hands. Admiring the show that's in front of them, dancers and jesters performing for the people with an incredible fireworks display in the sky

Augustus frowned. "I though the party's only in Lord Franklin's house, why's that the whole town is celebrating now." He mumbled

Augustus closed his window and go to his work room, he sat down on his chair as he took out his paper and pen and began to write, completely lost in his own little world

What is his life right now, he silently thought as he write down words like it's a normal thing for him to do
