Pilot: The Endless Chase

I'm constantly chasing after something, but I'm not sure what that 'something' is. All I know is that it means a lot to me and that I want it desperately. However, no matter how hard I try, I am unable to find any clues to what I'm looking for. "When will I find it?" And, "When I find it, what will happen next?" These questions run through my mind every day and I'm starting to wonder if the topic of interest is an obsession.

This questionable 'obsession' isn't the only thing different about me. My family just so happens to be in a bad situation right now. My father was not so nice to have run off with our family's savings. Now, the rest of us, our family of three, is on the edge of broke.  Thankfully, my mother is picking up my good-for-nothing father's slack.

My mother, the star of this family, is an extraordinary person. She may not have an eye for the right partner, but she couldn't have been more caring for our family, despite my loser-of-a-father. My mother is very strong. She loves with all her heart, and she fights for what she cares about with all her will. My brother and I are her pride and joy. So, she will never let us fade into the background as Dad did.

As for my brother, well, he was adopted. He's two years younger than me. He respects me and idolizes me. Honestly, I try to play the good big sister, but everything that comes with that role is just weighing on me. Whether it's getting groceries on our low budget or helping my brother with his homework, there's never a moment of rest when it comes to my family.  It's not that I don't like doing these things for them; it's just been really stressful lately. This is especially true because the more I endlessly chase after these feelings and dreams, the more I feel that I'll never reach whatever or whoever it is. Lately, I've wanted just to get rid of these heavy thoughts, but it's hard when you feel like fate is involved. That's how I feel. Welcome to the world where I'm right here!

Now, I won't give any more spoilers, as the story must start somewhere. So, I wish for you to read this story. And, while you do, think about just how good it feels to love someone and have them love you in return. Once I find it, I don't want to lose what I'm chasing after. After I've worked so hard to find it, there's no way I'd give my treasure up! Fate is definitely at work, as I don't even understand yet, just how deep the roots of love run. At least, when the sun rises on another day, I may know.
