Soulmates in the Past

A man running away as fast as he can. Running away from the cops. The three cars chased the man with an alarm ordering the man to stop running. He ran and ran. After the police cars behind him lost him,he quickly went back home. He packed his things.

"Pack your things,now!"

"Honey, what's wrong? Edward! Why are we packing things at time like this? It's midnight! You were out for hours and now you're packing up? What is wrong with you?!"

"Stop babbling and pack up now!"

...

"The police are after us."

"What did you say?"

*police sirens getting louder*

"Look..Nobara,I think I'm not gonna make it. You'll get out of this country with Eddie."

(gave a big luggage)

"There's $$$$$ in here. Take this and go away. Save our child."

(forehead to forehead.)

Edward kiss Nobara's forehead before Nobara bring their baby and the luggage with her. That's when she last met her husband.

No sign of Edward after 8 years. She raised their only child,Eddie. They lived in London.

Izumi Nobara is japanese and Edward is american. They got married and were endowed with a child. After that tragedy happen,until now,Nobara still doesn't get it why his husband abandon her. She now lives with her child a normal life by telling him that his father died when he's one year old.

Eddie woke up as usual in the weekend. Take a quick bath and head outside for a walk. His cat following him from behind and rubbing on his leg. Suddenly,a car stopped by the house next door. The house was unoccupied since 2 weeks ago. A married couple came out of the car checking the house before taking out their luggage and things. There was a boy too. Though he look small,but kinda look like his age too.

Eddie ignored both of them. He take his skateboard with him and head to the park. While he was skateboarding,that boy he saw earlier was at the edge of the park seeing him skate with joyness in the boy's face. He look so..impressed? That boy came closer.

"Hey! You're that boy staying next to our house,right? I saw you just now."

"Um..yea?" Eddie replied coldly.

"Woahh your skateboarding skill is so insane!" The boy praised.

"Wait..you really think it's cool?"

"Yeah! You should teach me to do that sometimes. By the way,I'm Louis Günther."

He offered his hand.

"Eddie. Izumi Eddie."

He replies, offering his hand too. They sit at a bench at the park knowing each other.

"So..by your family name,I can tell that you're not from here." He say while looking at the ground.

"Yup. I'm from a small town in German. My family move here because my father had some business in this country. We don't know for how long we'll stay. But I'm glad I just made a friend on my first day here." Louis smiled while looking at Eddie.

"You don't wanna talk about your life in German?" He chuckled quietly.

\[*We talked for hours*.\]

"Well then,bye! See you around." that boy waved.

"Bye."

I went back home. Take a shower and laid in bed. I skipped dinner. I laid in bed and thought to myself.

[What is this feeling? I just made a friend. I don't usually talk to stranger or even my classmates. Well,to think twice, it's not me who is unfriendly..but them. It's them who've been avoiding me. They say I look boring to talk to. No one ever care about me though. What to do.. it's been like this for years..but Louis,he's different. He doesn't think I'm boring to him. He even enjoyed talk to me even though I'm quiet. But you know,friends. They won't last long....right?]

\[*We last longer than I think*\]

As usual,Eddie woke up doing his morning routine before head outside to play with Louis. Once he was outside,he saw Louis helping his parents put their luggage and things in the car. Louis saw him. He approach the boy.

"Eddie."

"What are you doing with those luggage and stuffs? On a vacation?" he chuckled.

"I'm moving out. My family are going back to Cochem."

"What did you say?" he seriously asked.

"H-hey. Eddie. I know. I know how you feel. But I have no idea how to even stop them from moving out. I have to follow them." his teary eyes avoiding Eddie's.

"You'll be back,right?" Eddie's voice was quiet but can be heard by Louis. He's trying to hide his tears too.

"I promise I'll be back. No matter what."

Louis's mother called out for her son.

"Louis, you're coming or not? Faster."

They fist bump one last time before Louis get inside the car and the car drove away.

Tears falling down to Eddie's cheek.

[Yup. Friends doesn't last long. But I'm sure he'll be back. ... Right?]

\[*He did not come back after 7 years*.\]

They were already 20. They graduated and all grown-ups. They can't reach out to each other since both forgot to ask each other's phone number. Eddie got offered a job from Berlin,German since there's a new big building held there. He know he could meet his friend there but somehow he doesn't feel happy or excited. Plus,Louis didn't live in Berlin so there's not much opportunity for them to meet. He went for it anyway. He moved to German by himself.

When he arrived,he casually interview for the job and he got the job within a week. He's a lawyer in German. He does his job not troubling anyone there. The third day he work,he got to deal with someone who's been locked up in jail for 20 years under the case of murder. He read the file of the murderer for informations. He was shocked after reading the name. "Edward Miller". It was his father's name.

[Did mom lie to me all over these years? Does she even know dad is still alive? But why? Why is this happening?] All kind of thought burst into his mind.

/The next morning/

He went to the jail to see his father himself. They both sit infront of each other with a glass between them to separate them both. Eddie started the call. The old man answered.

"Lawyer. Izumi Eddie."

The man was surprised to heard his son's name.

"Eddie,my son. Is that you,boy? It's me. Your dad." That man said with teary eyes looking at the person infront of him.

"Son. I'm sorry I did this. I- I- I..I can explain."

"Why? Why did you abandon us? You could've run away. Mom had to lied to me all my life. You don't know how hurtful mom is feeling without you!" Eddie shouted.

"S-son. Hear me out-" That male couldn't finish his sentence.

"SHUT UP! I AM NOT YOUR SON! I am not a child of someone like you! You murderer."

Tears falling down his cheek as he get out of the room after ending the call. He dissapointed seeing his dad after all this years seeing him as a murderer. He wants to deny the reality he's going through. [Damn. We were supposed to talk about the case. Ugh I messed up.]

Day after day,he still didn't visit the man. Edward felt down. "Yea,he's right. Just whoever wants a father like me. A murderer."

He thinks Eddie didn't want to see him anymore. Eddie also denied the truth that he is his son.

Eddie wants to forget about his father but ended up interrogating the case even deeper. He decide to find out the who was the corpse during the murder scene. He investigate and investigate. Until he found who it was,he felt really guilty and shocked.

\[*It was Louis's mother*\]

Louis once told him "My mother right now is not my real mother. She's a step-mother. My father married her after my real mother died murdered years ago when I was just child...But I swear,if I found out who killed her,i'll kill that person's whole family." Eddie can't stop thinking about those words. He felt so weak cause he couldn't do anything about it. Past already happened. No one could turn back time. All he could do is end the case he held.

He was afraid about what's going to happen. [What if..Louis knew about this? What if..he knew the killer is my father? Would he...kill me?] He hadn't contact his friend for years. They hadn't met or even message. It makes Eddie feels more scared.

[Would their friendship be ruined?]

Next morning,Eddie woke up,dress up as usual with suit and tie like going to work. He head to his work building and went to the rooftop. Looking at the ground,saw a busy streets. All he thought about,was to dissapear from the present time. He wants to run away but couldn't. As he was about to close his eyes and jumped the tall building,a footstep coming from behind getting louder and louder. He turned around to look at the person in the eye.

Blue eyes. Soft blonde hair. Louis Günther. After all these years,his friend appear infront of him right now. They both stared at each other.

"Eddie."

"Louis."

Silence for a moment.

"You..knew it,don't you?" Louis asked all of a sudden. His expression doesn't look the same anymore. His face not as innocent kid as he used to be. His cold expression changed his personality just by looking at him.

"Your f**cking father killed my mother!" Louis spoked angrily.

Eddie kept silent.

"I thought we were as close as brothers. Or even soulmates. I trust you. I trust you!"

"What are you going to do with me now? Are you going to kill me?" Eddie ask as cold as he actually is. He never seen his friend got mad before. All he know is Louis a cheerful person and wouldn't get angry easily. Guess he has the right to be angry now. No words left,Louis take out a gun from his suit and point it to Eddie's heart.

Little do we know what happened next. Wait for season 2 :)
