Counterfeit Angel
“Keep it simple. Keep it simple. Keep it simple.” Rubeus keeps on whispering to herself while going to the main celestial circle of their department. Their commander, Archangel Uriel, summoned her due of her insubordination and getting into fight with a Thronus (Major) high-ranking angel. When she reached the pathway of the entrance of Celestial Circle, she chant an Enochian spell for her wings to appear, she would be meeting her officer in charge in the brigade, Seraphim Alein in the end of the pathway.
Her amber red with highlights of white wings appeared and glowing. This is one of the reasons why she’s getting into fights with other angels, but she never hate the color of her wings actually she love it! Her wings were so unique because most of the angel has white with highlights of the color of their respective commander while hers is vice versa. She continued walking to the pathway until she saw Alein, her OIC. Yesterday she received an earful of verses, so today Seraph Alein is with her normal self, quiet and composed, she was a lady with a few words at most angels (close to a mute on her opinion). She saw Alein raising one eyebrow when her wings was spotted, it was “no secret” to her OIC that she was “hiding” her wings if not on mission.
“Well, the commander didn’t want to see a “wingless” angel standing within his sight.” she scratched her nape while explaining even she was not asked to. Seraph Alein ignore her explanation like she never talk at all before it turns around and enter on the celestial gateway which she immediately follows.
“There she is, watch her wings, it will turn into blue once she spotted both of you.” she recognize her commander’s voice, Arc Uriel despite the distance. She can even easily recognize Archangel Uriel even in a busy fight on Tartarus, even he was miles and miles away. There are other two angels she spotted talking and standing next to Arc Uriel. The nearer she was the clearer she see who those two are. She notice that the color of her wings slowly changing from amber red to blue with the highlights of white.
“Ohhh.” the other two angel reacted in duet. Archangel Uriel is with Archangel Michael and Archangel Gabriel. She and Seraph Alein stop, and bow few meters away from where the three archangels stood.
“Arc Uriel, Arc Micheal and Arc Gabriel. Seraphim Alein and Angel Dominion Rubeus reporting.” Alein starts greeting while bowing as a sign of respect.
“Rubeus come closer.” Arc Uriel called her with a smile. She stood straight and a three step forward before she bows again for respect.
“You’re right kiddo keep it simple.” Arc Gabriel said. She squeeze her eyes shut, how can she forget that Arc Gabriel has a talent in mind reading. “Oh yes indeed I can read it like a book.” Arc Gabriel added.
“Gabriel stop scaring the kid.” Arc Michael counter.
“She’s wondering why three of us is here.” Arc Gabriel continued reading her thoughts. “Oh crap she thought of it again, that’s what she says. Really, crap? Are you sure you’re one of us?” Arc Gabriel smile cleverly because of her thoughts.
“Well, for starters the reason why the three of us is in front of you is indeed because your repeated violations are piling up and recently you got into a fight with your superior.” Arc Micheal answered.
“Don’t try to utter a single Enochian letter to shut down your thoughts or else I’ll use force to sever half of your wings as a punishment.” Arc Gabriel warned. She raised her head in confusion and curiosity. “Oh you didn’t know? If an archangel use force to sever the wings of a normal angel, it can grow again but it’ll take sometime and the pain is unbearable.” Arc Gabriel smile broadly while informing her which makes all her blood drained from her face. “Trust me one Enochian letter out of your mouth before you know it you will be crunching in pain while your waiting for your wings to grow.”
“Okay, enough with chitchat and playing around. Angel Dominion Rubeus you were involve on a fight with your higher official Angel Thronus Viel yesterday, aye?” Arc Uriel cut-off Arc Gabriel’s play.
“Yes Arc Uriel.” she answered almost immediately and bows her head.
“We want to hear your side of story.” Arc Micheal added.
“I was reading a book when their group stopped and then Angel Thronus Viel he hold up my hair and said I might be a human who committed a mortal sin and I accidentally done a divine indulgence that’s why I became an angel however the color of my wings and hair is the reflection of my sins.” she tried to put the story short and simple. “I tap his hands off my hair but he laughs it off and caught my wrist as he twist it, I fought back with my available fist and hit him in the face.”
“You are well aware that self defense is out of question especially for a well trained angel like you.” Arc Uriel is asking her using a more serious tone.
“In layman term she’s a dominion or a captain per se fought to a thronus or major, right? How come that the thronus is in disadvantage?” Arc Gabriel frowned in asking.
“Well, she can win a spar to Seraph Alein without using a weapon or spell.” Arc Uriel answered and shrugs off.
“And if I’m not mistaken she’s also one of your guards when you tour around Tartarus gate, right?” Arc Micheal frown as he confirms, Arc Uriel nods in answer.
“Whoa! Seriously?!” Arc Gabriel was amaze. “With your small frame you fought a thronus bare handed and almost killed him?”
She stood up straight in shock to the information she heard. “I almost killed Angel Thronus Viel?”
“Yes. So to put it bluntly, you fought to your superior and you didn’t stop until he stop moving, right?” Arc Uriel confirms the reports she nods right away. “I spar with you countless times with your wings and you know the feeling of being beaten down to the body is a double intake for the wings. So without your wings you will feel less sore and stressed. Angel Thronus Viel was sent to medical infantry because his wings was stressed and its feather starts to fall.”
“Even you have your wings that time you are not allowed to fight back even it kills you especially with a high ranking official. I understand that you felt insulted and he attacked you first, basically that’s a self defense but here in Heaven we don’t tolerate self defense if you just walk away from them or call your OIC the result will be much better.” Arc Micheal explains the situation.
“I’m sorry.” she was in a verge of crying, she didn’t mean to kill any of her kind that doesn’t approve the color of her hair and wings. In the blink of an eye Arc Gabriel is on her front patting her head, the color of her wings turned back into amber red with highlights of white.
“Look.” Arc Gabriel spread his wings, one of the prettiest and blinding wings she set her eyes of, the Messengers wings, Luminous White. “We both have wings, we’re angels, and it doesn’t change that fact regardless of it’s color. No one or no words can take it from you.” Arc Gabriel fold his wings and on a blink of an eye he’s with Arc Micheal and Arc Uriel.
“Your needless fights with a fellow angel or a high ranking official are piling and escalating, not to mention a series of violation that you repeatedly commit.” Arc Uriel sigh. “This time I demand for your honest answer on all of it. How do you plea?”
“Guilty.” she answered in a mere whisper while her head is hanging low.
“Alright. So the three of us will gave you a mission that will teach you an additional values and purpose.” Arc Micheal starts. “We agree to sent you down with humans, try to live like a human and learn from them.”
“I’ll ask of you to search for a camaraderie and respect. Learn to hold your temper and try to see how can you live with them without them noticing that you are an angel and they are humans.” Arc Gabriel continues.
“Seraph Alein will see you descend and don’t worry I won’t take away your wings nor your power as an angel. Learn to measure your capability and use patience at all times. You’re not allowed to harm any human and you’re not allowed to mediate on their lifespan.”
“You mean she can see the reaper?” Arc Micheal was shock when Uriel nods in confirmation.
“Can you enumerate, what you can do as an angel?” Arc Gabriel throws a curious look on her.
“I can speak, read and write Hebrew, Latin and Enochian. I was trying to learn Bellsybabble. My expertise is hand combat and spell casting using our three main angel language. I can see and talk to a reaper. I can win against Abaddon Demon or a draw against Satan or Beelzebub Demon. I can see other celestial being even they are in disguise. My speed comes third to our department with or without wings. My spell casting precision is second in rank. My combat ability is first in rank.”
“Why are you still Dominion?” Arc Micheal curiously asked.
“She didn’t enlist for ranking and her short temper always get the best of her.” Arc Uriel answered.
“Uriel, you said you spar with her. How was it?” Arc Micheal suddenly ask.
“I never won. Not even close.” she answered instead.
“If I remember it right, Uriel said she can win a spar with Seraph Alein over there but she can’t win a spar on you which Seraph Alein can as far as I can remember.” a low laughs escape to Arc Micheal. “Kid you flip Uriel switch that makes him more tough on you.”
“Anyway don’t you think you dote on this kid too much Uriel by not taking away her wings nor her power as an angel?” Arc Gabriel pointed out a fellow official.
“Nope. Let her experience difficulty to control the power over to a powerless individual.” Arc Uriel grim expression. “If you harm a human, you will be considered as a fallen immediately. You are not allowed to enter heaven not unless I called up for your return.”
Her heart sank and her brain shuts down, she was going to descend tomorrow. She wont be able to see her favorite sergeant, she won’t hear Seraph Alein nor be with the commander’s entourage going to Tartarus. She will miss walking around in Heaven and look down below to find some adorable good humans.
“Sorry she unconsciously shut off her thoughts.” she heard Arc Gabriel saying to the other two archangels.
“So Seraph Alein will walk you to the Gate of Mortal so you can descend. You can pick which country you want to descend first and that will be the start of your journey as a human.” Arc Uriel said while walking and stop in front of her, he touch her face even she hids it while her head hanged low. “Hey kid, take care. Do want you have to do as always and I’ll call you right away, okay? Stop crying. I don’t want to lose the sharp and quick-witted guard on my tour in Tartarus for too long. I’ll surely miss your antics here in Heaven, so make it a quick tour, aye?” he said in a whisper that makes her cry even more. She will surely miss Heaven and its celestials being.
“Let me excuse myself from this meeting Arc Micheal, Arc Gabriel and Arc Uriel. I’m sorry.” while her head is still hanging low she took a step back and away from Archangel Uriel hand before she turn around spread her wings and fly away as fast as she could.
“I can still hear her heart shattering.” Arc Gabriel close his eyes to concentrate to the angel who just flew away.
“Seraph Alein make sure you remind her about the limitation and consequences of this mission before she descend.” Arc Uriel turns to the remaining angel who walks with Angel Rubeus.
“Yes, Arc Uriel.” Seraph Alein bowed and turn around to walk away. Uriel released a deep sigh.
“Do you think she can make it without making herself a fallen?” Uriel is having a second thoughts and he wants to confide about his decision to his fellow Archangel.
“You sound like doting father who send his only daughter in school for the first time?” Gabriel was holding his laughs and Michael smiled on what he heard.
“Well she will be a fallen if she continue to act and think that way. She’s bright and talented but that doesn’t help her to earn the title of an angel.” as-a-matter-of-fact statement from Michael.
“Ahhhh! Michael, it hurts when you always says what’s on your mind. I hate losing her because she’s a jack-of-all-trades and she diligently does all her work load and reports on time.” Uriel answered with a sigh.
“Awww. That really hurts if she’s really that efficient.” Gabriel answered and laughs in addition. Uriel shook his head and look out to where the figure of the red winged angel disappeared to.
Seraph Alein walk her to the Gate of Mortal. Alein remind her about the limitation and consequences tirelessly. She push the Gate but before she could step out Seraph Alein held her wrist.
“Rubeus take care and be back, okay? Godspeed.” Alein whisper and wished her with a blue smile.
“Thanks.” she answered shortly with a small smile. She step out, spread her wings and dive into the human world.
Night time in Country P. She carefully descend in the top of the Tower Elle, close her wings and chant for it to disappear, the wind smells like rain. ‘I can do this. Country P is the best way to start being a human to take advantage my angelic features.’ Broken hearted still, for everything that had happen but she was ashamed of herself when she got to see how Thronus Viel looked like after she left the “meeting”. She realized that it was wrong to use her combat skills to a fellow angel. So maybe this journey is necessary that will set her values straight and the adventure that awaits her will teach her how to be a better angel than she is now.
