Rose lived with her mother as an only child and was very intelligent. She often won mathematics competitions at school and did well in her daily home responsibilities. Because of this, a neighbour named Emily, who had a daughter called Beauty aged ten, became unhappy. Emily always wished that Beauty could be as successful as Rose or even do better.
