Where the Fireflies Are
In the quiet village of Gyeoul-ri, where rain carries memory and time moves with the rhythm of harvests, two boys meet and change each other in ways neither of them can escape.
Baek Byeongho is the village’s so-called “golden boy”—gentle, composed, and quietly admired by everyone around him. But behind his perfect image is a child shaped by abandonment, unstable love, and the pressure of always being seen as something pure.
Hwang Tae-joo comes from the city—sharp-tongued, restless, and carrying a kind of anger that refuses to settle. When he arrives in Gyeoul-ri, he finds himself drawn to the boy everyone worships… and just as quickly, resenting him for it.
What begins as curiosity turns into obsession. What looks like rivalry becomes something far more fragile—something unspoken, unnamed, and dangerous in a time and place where such feelings are not allowed to exist.
But childhood does not stay gentle for long.
