Hospital

Chapter Two

Hospital

My eyes open to see a man standing over me. "NO, IM SORRY" I shout blocking my face with my arms in an X shape "I- I won't run, I'm sorry" the tears I thought had all dried up wouldn't stop pouring out. to think, I would be brought back once I collapsed. how- how long have I been out? I pushed the train of thought I had aside as I noticed it was silent "ah lady, Im just here to change your IV bag" the man frowns, as he reaches over me "NO!" I don't know this man, but that didn't change anything before "what is going on here" a different man with a husked tone walks in "the lady won't let me change her-" "I'll take it from here Brent" the man replaces "listen Madam, I know you're in shock right now" his tone is slow and calm "but we must change the IV bag, you'll still very much deprived of fluids" he holds his hand out to me, confused I pull away "do- don't touch me" "ma'am, I promise we won't touch you, we only need the bag beside you" pointing, I follow his finger. "hospital? I'm in... a hospital" the tears once again make their way down my cheeks. "WHAT?!" the doctor steps back "miss, please calm down" he attempts to ease. "I- I really not back there" I weep looking back at the doctor "is.. is this real" I try to stand, but my feet buckle beneath me "miss you were very badly injured when you were found." concern apparent upon the doctor's expression, but as much as I wish to take this calmly, my chest begins to squeeze. Clenching onto my heart, my sight again takes a dark view, as everything spins and blackens.

As if on an infinitive loop, I open my eyes to see a man standing over me. but this time, I take a deep breath in, smelling the saline and clean oxygen. "I smell smoke" the man startled asks "what?" he begins sniffing himself "I thought I sprayed enough" "it's not you" I turn away "I'm just hyper sensitive to the smell" trembling from the memory, I clench my hand closed "I.. sorry, you must not have fond memories of the smell" I look to face him "they're not particularly good ones, no" but at least he doesn't smell of booze.. that's the only reason I can bare the smell "if he smelled of boozed to I would loss my mind again" I mutter, noticing I spoke out loud, he founds "I'll try not to smoke before checking on you" confused, my expression gives me away "I'll be placed to look over you, beginning this morning" he explains, with a comforting smile "you've been comatose for two weeks now" he frowns "so take it easy, please"

he left me to my thoughts. I still am not sure if being alone is best for me. I'm left with memories of only that place. but being near people still leaves me on edge. "will I ever belong anywhere anymore" "of course" a voice peers into the room from the doorway "hello, I'm the nurse who'll be watching over you this evening" she nods nearing the white board on the wall "I thought.. I thought it was a guy" I mumble avoiding eye contact "he's gone home, he said he was in a hur-" "hey you .. I was as fast as possible-" the girl nurse and the guy from before pause as they stare at each other "want? ARE YOU DOING" the girl shouted, smacking the guy as he winced. in awe I gawk at the two as she keeps hitting him "a- you can.. hit back" without fail my eyes well up. "huh?!" the guy panics "look what you did Mara" "me? what bout you Harvey" Mara smacks him again "get out" mara points to the door, sternly he kicks him out "wait.. I wanted to say by-" and the door shut completely. "sorry bout him" mara sighs "I'm mara, if you didn't hear before" she tilts her head slightly "and you are?" she waits. "Im.." I pause "my name is..."
