Episode 2

There was a guy, I guess in his early twenties, smiling at me. He had honey coloured eyes, salt and pepper hair with a tall and lean frame to compile. He was wearing a yellow t-shirt with baggy pants to complete the look. He looked like any other college student.

“Hi! You must be Avery, right?” he asked offering a handshake

“N-” I almost denied when it clicked that this is my new identity. I still need to get used to it.

He looked confused at my reaction. Before he could ask any questions, I compiled the information.

“Yes, I’m Avery- Avery Shantner” I replied nervously and shook his hand.

“I’m Riley Shawn. Nice to meet you Avery,”

I just smiled wryly in response.

“Oh! I forgot! Here are the keys and your new card. Neil will call you shortly,” he said offering me keys and the card.

I took them not before thanking him. I learnt that he stays just below my apartment. Before he could again start a topic to try and indulge me in, I took my leave.

The elevator took me directly to my floor and I thanked god for no stops in between. My apartment was at the 70th floor of the total of 200. The foyer had a receptionist at my floor. I guess there would be one at every floor. I made my way towards her. It’s nice to be friendly with those who are gonna work for you. Technically she’ll be working

for the owner though!

“Good morning ma’am! How may I help you?” she said in her well rehearsed accent.

“Hi! I’m Avery! Actually I’m new here and will be staying at in 710. Just thought of introducing myself,” I said.

“It’s a pleasure to have you here ma’am. My name is Mia Rogers,” she said smiling politely. I liked her immediately.

She asked me few of my details which she verified on her computer. After having completed the introduction, she gave me keys to a Bentley and a brand new iphone X. I was shocked. I didn’t expect this coming.

“I was asked to give these to you when you arrive.”

I didn’t know what to say of react.

“Um- thank you,” I said nervously.

Who left these for me? I wondered.

It has to be Neil. My subconscious answered.

She offered to show me my apartment. As we were about to leave there was a boy in a white shirt and black pants with a red tie who offered to take my luggage in. I instantly knew that Neil had selected some posh apartment for me to stay.
