Darkness

I wake up suddenly and look around I think I had another nightmare, but it felt so real, like there was actually someone watching me. I shudder as I get out of bed.

“Blaaaaiiisssseeee!” I hear a Lilian call out. I open my door.

“Yes?” I yell.

“Are you dressed?” Lilian questions.

“Wha- Why?!” I say.

“You forgot again?!” Lilian yells.

“No, I just.... didn’t hear you.” I say while backing up into my room, I slam the door and start getting dressed.

“Come on! Hurry up or you’ll be late for thisinterview.” Lilian says. Oh! The interviews I have today! How could I forget? I get out of my room and run out the door.

“Wait you forgot you breakfast!” Lilian yells out the door.

“No time for that, I’ll eat after I’m done.” I say opening the door for the stairs. As I run down the stairs, my stomach grumbles. The interviews shouldn’t take that long right? I’ll eat lunch later. I check my calender on my phone and my eyes go wide. I have interviews from 10:00 A.M. through 8:00 P.M.. Welp, I’ll just pick some dinner up when I come home tonight.

I’m halfway done with my interviews and I could already tell that they all think I’m not qualified for their jobs. Why does my life have to be this way, I’m so stupid. I gave up my dream job and I don’t have an apartment, ugh. I’ll just get through the rest of the interviews it’s not like I’m gonna get a job anyway.

After I finished all of the interviews, I went to go get some dinner. I walk down and secluded street and look up an alleyway, there are three figures. They start to come closer and they’re image gets clearer, there are three boys that are maybe a little bit older than me. Two brown haired guys and one blond haired guy. I turn to walk away.

“Hey!” I hear one of the boys call, I turn around.

“Yes?” I question.

“Are you all alone, love? We can accompany you.” The blond haired guy said said.

“No, that’s ok. I’m meeting my boyfriend for dinner, so if I could just-“ I said before one of the boys grabbed my arm.

“Hey, hey, hey! There’s no need to go, beautiful.” One of the boys with brown hair said.

“If you would kindly let me go we could both be on our ways.” I say trying to keep calm. The boys surround me and all have a pervertous look.

“You’re not going anywhere.” The blond haired boy. I need to get out of this situation, I need to get someone’s attention.

“HELP!” I yell as loud as I can. The boys get closer to me, then I see another figure in the shadows. I think to myself that it’s just another thug looking for trouble. They come into my view and I recognize him, it’s Chasen.

“Cha-“ I try to call out his name before one of the boys cover up my mouth.

“Get lost buddy, she’s ours.” One of the boys with brown hair said.

“Oh really?” Chasen questions. He lunges forward and punches the blond haired guy square in the face, he falls to the ground unconscious.

“Shit!” One of the brown haired boys said.

“Run!” The other brown haired boy says running into the shadows. Chasen turns towards me.

“Well? Don’t you have a date to get to?” Chasen asks.

“Oh! That was just a diversion. It didnt really work.” I say glumly.

“I see that.” Chasen laughs.

“Well thank you! I have to go I’ll see you around.” I say. Before I could get out of the alley, Chasen slammed his hand against the wall right in front of me so I couldn’t go.

“Just a thank you? Nothing else, like a compliment, dinner,” Chasen lists, “maybe blood?” I’m confused and scared. Chasen looks down at me with a grin.

“What?! Blood?” I question, as I start to shake. Chasen ducks down to my ear.

“Shhhhhhh.” He hushes, there’s something about his gentle tone that soothes me and clears my head, I let all of my thoughts go. Chasen presses his lips against my neck, opens his mouth and bites down hard, his fangs sinking into my veins. I suddenly wake up from my trance and I feel lightheaded, almost as if the life is getting sucked out of me. I scream.

“Ah! Stop!!! IT HURTS!!!!” I yell out, Chasens fangs dig deeper into my skin, pinching my neck. He squeezes his eyes shut in satisfaction. He sucks up a lot of my blood, my vision starts to go hazy. Chasen stops biting my neck and grabs my wrist and sinks his teeth into it, I start to slide towards the ground.

“Stop-“ I say weakly. Chasen stops biting me and looks up, with my blood running down his chin.

“Why-“ I question before the world goes dark.
