Chapter One

My first shift was when I was 6 years old. It was so painful, of course because it was my first. Mom didn't leave me alone, she stayed by my side and assured me everything will be alright.

It was like tearing your bones, limb from limb and it was like literal hell. Hanggang sa nakasanay na nung lumaki, hindi na siya masakit unless matagal kang hindi nakapag-shift, it hurts like bitch kaya you need to shift every now and then. Para din healthy kayo ng wolf mo, a good relationship with you wolf is good, too.

"Casey, the pack doctor wants to see you." I nodded my head before following her.

"Good morning," I greeted first. "Is there something you'd like to say, Sir?" I politely smiled at him. Dito sa pack, hindi pwedeng sisiga-siga ka lalo na kung hindi ka royalty o 'yung wala kang ranggo sa pack. You will be either dead or being played with. Trust me, you'd wish for your death right there and then when the Alpha looks at you angrily.

"A, yes, we need a great surgeon. The mission was again, a failure. Our Alpha needs great capability to remove the silver bullet beside his heart. If you fail, it'll be the death of you and your best friend." he smiled but no trace of happiness is etched on his face.

It was more a command than a request, and I can never say no.

Isa sa pinaka mataas na ranggo sa pack ang Pack Doctor. Aside from elders, Alpha and Beta, Pack Doctor is also a big role in here, so the last thing I would want is to say no to his requests.

"Can I ask; Why me?" I avoided his dazzling gaze.

His muscles hardned, his eyes turning a shade of blue and brown, his canines showing and his fist trembling.

"You dare to question my command!?" His hard voice echoed thru the room.

His buffy muscle were hardening even more. Matanda lamang ito sa akin ng limang taon ngunit magandang lalaki din ito.

"I-I'm sorry, Sir. I just didn't think I was capable of such responsibility..." I nervously said.

He relaxed himself, I knew his wolf took over. Maybe it was his first time to be questioned. Knowing him, malamang nakukuha niya ang gusto niya and he's known for being short tempered.

"I trust my insticnt. I know what I'm doing. Stop asking questions and just follow me." he passed thru me and left me with no choice.

Ganito ang buhay kapag wala kang pera, kung hindi ka inaalila, ginagawa kang panakip butas sa mga bagay bagay. Hindi ka naman pwedeng magcomplain dahil ang pinaka madaling paraan na lang ay ang kamatayan, and I wanna live as long as I can because I promised my Mom.

Huminga ako ng malalim bago siya sundan, he's scary and my heart won't stop beating erratically. My wolf was in chaos, she was afraid of her Alpha. She felt like dying and so I was.

Natapos ang pag-oopera ko sa pamangkin ng Alpha, turns out ito pala ang nakasalo ng bala mula sa hunters. I did the operation successfully and I can sleep at peace now.

I still remember how my Alpha was staring at me intently like just wrong move and he'd snap my leg with his bear hands. My wolf, dignity and pride was no where to be seen. I was that obedient dog.

"That was great, Ms. Scott. Thank you, you may go now." tumango lamang ako kay Daniel, ang Pack Doctor.

"No, wait." the thunderous voice echoed thru the hallway, my heart almost stopped beating, my mind was completely blank and my wolf wanting to be far as possible.

"A-A-Alpha..." was the words I could only utter when he was 5 steps away from me.

"Come with me." his Alpha tone towering me, I obliged.

We went into the woods and he ordered me to shift.

"B-Beg your pardon?" this could only mean one thing, "I don't say things twice." his inner wolf was showing saying that he's running low on temper.

"I-I, O-Of course, Alpha." I hid behind a tree then shifted.

When I came out, his dark, big, and scary wolf welcomed me.

His wolf's eyes welcomed mine, I couldn't meet his gaze so I lowered my head showing respect.

He mentioned me to come close, my wolf stood still.

Again, he motioned me to come closer but I didn't moved an inch, I was scared and so was my wolf.

"Why won't you come closer, Cassandra!? You're making things worse than already it is!" I hysterically said.

"He won't bite us, I know because he's our mate." my eyes widened and my heart started beating eratically in an excited manner.

He growled at me, my wolf whimpered and she moved two inch closer to him.

His canines were showing, indicating that he'll either mark us or suck off our head. I hope it's the latter, though.

He come closer and carelessly bit my ear, my wolf was in delight and so was I but I was afraid this would be the first and last.

He started to smell my wolf, Cassandra was freaking horny and a male wolf can smell it from 10 mile radius, it was embarrassing.

After smelling me and passing his Alpha sent into me, he quickly stood back to his place and shifted infront of me. I took that as a chance to hid behind the tree and also shift back. My cheeks were heating up pretty bad and I could collapse due to cardiac arrest. But of course, that's only metaphor.

Werewolves don't die from heart attacks.

He was standing in his ***** glory, showing off his 8 pack abs, his tanned skin and his manly build. I could even barely look down. He was my Alpha, it was rude to even look at him.

I bowed my head and wore my shirt and pants back on.

"I cannot believe my mate is a filthy commoner." his words stung like a bitch. Of course, he would've thought his mate was someone as high and mighty as him, like the daugher of an Alpha or Beta.

I swallowed the lump in my throat and forced to look up to him.

"I-I have to now, thank you for your time..." I said bowing before turning back on him.

"Make sure Lucas' smell won't be noticed. I don't want them to think I'm screwing someone as pathethic as you." I nodded then ignored the seering pain thru my heart.

My wolf was broken and so was I. He didn't techincally rejected me but he made it clear that he didn't want to do anything with me.

Who would've thought he'd be my mate? Why didn't I felt something when I first saw him? Was it because the moon goddess knew that he'd reject me? Why?

I was sad and broken but I didn't let that affect me. He was just another mistake, and I'll find someone better... Hopefully.

...

It has been a week since that incident. I never went near his office or wherever he could be. I never wanted to see him again, I know he'd only bring pain and misery, I'm better off without him anyway.

Cassandra has also been ignoring me, I understand though. She was broken and needed time alone.

"Can we run? It just feels like it..." I nodded my head then sadly smiled at her. She finally decided to talk to me.

"I'm sorry this happened, I should've said no to that mission." she just sadly smiled at me then blocked me off.

I went upstairs and jump off the window, shifting and running like I was free, it felt good.

She ran faster, she wanted to unleash and I let her be, I blocked her off and rested, I needed that.

...

The uneasy feeling woke me. We were in someone else's territory. We're fucking doomed, Cassandra! What have you done!?

Wolves here can kill us for trespassing. And we can't fight back, shit.

We heard big paw steps, it was running towards us. She/He must've smelt the not familiar smell. We ran to the opposite direction towards home. How lucky can I get?

"Shit, Cassandra! It was the other way!"

She ignored me and run as fast as she could.

Before we knew it, someone jumped over us. His canines were showing, slimey saliva was all over Cass' face.

He ordered me to shift and I did, out of fear.

He shifted back into human and I was dumbfounded, he was one of hell gorgeous man. How is he this beautiful?

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" he walked towards me, I step backward until I was cornered.

He strangle me and I was whimpering in pain, his wolf was taking over indicating that he's fuming mad.

"I-I didn't mean to trespass. I'm sorry..." I was getting pale and his eyes were hardly recognized.

Just I was about to pass out, someone lunged over him and towered over me. It was Alpha Luke.

"Dare to hurt her again and that'll be the last thing you'll do." he threatened the unknown beast.

He was in human form yet his canines were out, his claws were ready to attack.

"Alpha Luke? Don't tell me this filthy commoner is your mate?" the dog said with pure disgust and hatred.

"She is not. But she's my wolf. Nobody hurts one of my own, not on my watch." my breath hitched, my palms were sweaty and my heart was beating fast.

My wolf was happy yet scared at the same time.

"We'll leave now." Alpha Luke said then motioned me to follow him, I obliged then thank heavens for sending him.

...

When were were in out territory in the forest, he looked back at me with pure rage and anger. My senses were automatically heightened.

"WHAT WERE YOU DOING THERE!? YOU REALLY ARE STUPID! YOU COULD'VE BEEN KILLED! YOU FUCKING BITCH, DO YOU KNOW I HAD TO CANCEL ONE OF MY IMPORTANT MEETINGS JUST BECAUSE LUCAS WOULDN'T STOP PESTERING ME SAYING THAT YOU'RE IN FREAKING DANGER? THE HELL WITH YOU!" he shouted then pointed his fingers at me. I couldn't say a word.

I wanted to yell at him and say he's the main reason why I was there. Cassandra wouldn't have run carelessly if she wasn't heartbroken. He did this to us so it was his fault!

But of course, I can't say that. So instead, I bowed my head and apologized.

"Do you think your apology will bring back the client I lost!? You stupid bitch!" it still hurted, it still stung whenever he calls me "bitch" or "stupid" yet I was used to it.

He held my jaw tightly and his eyes were turning golden yellow. I knew his wolf was mad but couldn't hurt Cas and I but Luke? He can and he will.

"Fucking bond!" he slapped me before turning his back and went back to his house.

My wolf was crying and so was I. Tears were streaming down my cheeks and I couldn't wipe it, I didn't have to, I needed a good cry and rest. It stung like hell.
