Episode 4 - A step Forward

A day passed with tons of workouts. Yui helped Yuuki try to unlock her transformation armor, however, it was no use. Yuuki stood silent as the others transformed in front of her. She watched in shock as Mamoru's uniform changed into a tight turtleneck tank top as it was tucked in his black stretchy skinny jeans as two small set of chains were chained from his two front belt loops to his pockets. His long black ripped cloak withered in the wind as he wore a silver chain necklace with a silver cross with black high combat boots. His arms down to his fingertips were all wrapped in white bandages as his blue eyes caught her attention.

One by one, their armors dazzled in front of her. Yuuki was amazed by how magnificent the team looked with their armor as she still wore her uniform. Mamoru glanced at Yuuki who kept her eyes wide. He smiled at her as he spoke, "Stay behind us, we don't want to lose another teammate."

"Another teammate?" she thought.

She nodded quickly as the others glanced at her. Yui appeared her beautiful staff as Sakura appeared a large screen with a keyboard in front of her.

"The village will be reached within a day if we keep up with our fast pace," Sakura said as she glanced at the pictures of the mission, "if we slow down we won't know what the dreadtooths can do." Mamoru lead the team out as Tsuyoshi's team bid them farewell and good luck.

Hours passed, the team rested for a few minutes for lunch before returning on their journey. The night soon lit the sky as the sun set, Mamoru ordered his team to set up a campfire as he patrolled around the area for safety precautions. He soon returned to the others as Yuuki sat alone under a tree while everyone sat around the built campfire.

"Are you alright Yuuki?" Mamoru asked as he walked over to her.

He sat beside her as she spoke, "You really lead the team well Mamoru… No wonder why the headmaster chose you as the team leader..."

Mamoru flustered in shock as she glanced at him. Letting out a cough to prevent awkwardness, he responded, "I am able to lead this team because everyone has each other's back… That's what makes this team unique to the other teams and to the headmaster."

Yuuki was amazed by him before he left to check not he others. The next day, the team took off. Hours passed as they continued to run, Yuuki followed right behind them as Mamoru listened to every single noise around them.

"Dreadtooths up ahead," Yuka said as she sniffed the air.

Mamoru ordered, "Yui, Sakura, do not leave Yuuki's side."

"On it," the two obeyed.

Yuuki watched as Mamoru increased his speed as his veins began to pop out from his bandaged arms. Yuka's speed increased rapidly as fluffy pointed ears appeared on her head as nine tails flourished out from under her cloak.

"She's a nine tailed fox?!" Yuuki thought in shock.

Yui stated, "Yuka is a faunus, she is the last of her species."

The two glanced at each other as Sadao ran beside her. Yumi and Ryuu ran beside Mamoru on his right as Yuka and Sadao were on his left. Akihiro backed up as he said, "I'll stay in front of you three."

Mamoru took off punching through as Yuka and Yumi slashed beside him. Yuuki watched in amazement on how the team was capable of killing many. Yui and Sakura fought the rest that crowded behind them with Akihiro.

"Someone please help me!!!!" a woman's voice cried up ahead.

The dreadtooths turned around seeing the others charging towards them. Letting out their mighty roars, they also charged at them.

"Get ready!!!!" Mamoru yelled.

Mamoru sprint through slashing multiple as he appeared a sword. Screams echoed violently before it went silent. Fighting through, Mamoru realized the dreadtooths were overwhelming them quickly away from the women.

"What the-!!!!!!" Ryuu yelled.

"Ryuu!!!! LOOK OUT!!!!!!!!!!" Sakura yelled.

Just as he turned around, a dreadtooth was right in front of him. Mamoru immediately turned as soon as he heard Sakura's yelling. A figure slithered its way between the two, within seconds, the dreadtooth was punched back flying and before staggering onto other dreadtooths.

"Yuuki!!" Yui shrieked.

Yuuki backed away as her fist was steaming from the fast attack. Mamoru watched in shock as she kicked the dreadtooths away.

"Someone help me!!!!!!!!!!!" another woman's voice cried.

"Yuka!!!! Yumi!!!!!!!!" Mamoru ordered.

The two leapt into the sky over the dreadtooths onto the other side. Mamoru leapt away slashing the dreadooths in front of Yuuki as he said, "Stay back Yuuki!!"

Yuuki was in shock as Mamoru protected her. He took off pushing forward with the others as Yuuki followed behind quickly. Smoke was seen in the air from afar. Yui clenched her staff as she stated, "The village is in trouble!!"

Mamoru looked at the others who were battling the dreadtooths as they pushed through. Looking up seeing the smoke, he clenched his teeth.

He ordered, "Yui!!! Akihiro!!!!!!!!"

Nodding at him, the two took off to the village, Mamoru was now left with Ryuu, Sakura, and Yuuki. Slashing through recklessly, he didn't realize a dreadtooth lurking behind him.

"Mamoru!!!" a voice shouted.

He turned around seeing the dreadtooth. Stepping back, he accelerated his fist forward smashing it into the dreadtooth's chest. As Mamoru was busy focusing on the dreadtooth in front of him, he hadn't realized another sneaking up behind him. Ryuu slashed through quickly, creating an opening as Sakura followed behind. Yuuki kicked through the dreadtooth sneaking up from behind Mamoru shocking him. Reassuring himself knowing Yuuki was able to fight without armor, he state, "Let's hurry."

She nodded. Mamoru lead her through as Yuuki helped. The team fought recklessly as time passed. The number of monsters slowly died out as many of the villagers were saved.

"Thank you so much for saving us," the villagers said to Mamoru as they bowed to them. The team was offered a small cabin to stay for the night as a gift in return. Resting in the cabin, Mamoru stood up as his team fell into a deep slumber.

"I hope this team is able to be strong like before…" he thought as he frowned.

Looking at Yuuki's peaceful expression as she slept, he smiled as he thought, "Are you watching over us Mayumi?"
