It's a date

"Hey, what are you eating?"

I smiled a bit at him and answered.

"Babe cooked some light food for our dinner and I made desserts, but for now, I am only eating takoyaki and milk tea."

"Isn't it bad to always eat takoyaki and milk tea? Isn't it bad for your health?"

I looked at him and he is just looking at me as well. I can see that he is worried about me. I tried to focus and wait if I can feel something like what babe have described to me. I just sigh when I feel nothing.

"I'm fine. Just for today."

"Okay, as you wish. Uhm, do you have something to do tomorrow night?"

"Just make lessons for Monday's class. Why?"

"Can I ask you for a date?"

A date? Come to think of it, we haven't even had a proper date. Maybe doing so will help my heart to beat for Love for him?

"Okay, let's have a date tomorrow night."

He smiled sweetly at me.

"Thank you, love."

"You're welcome."

"I love you."

For a moment, I was stunned, wondering what I will answer him. But as usual.

"Love you too, love."

He smiled at me and gave me a flying kiss. I just smiled at him and ended the call. I looked up just to see the moon smiling at me.

"What's with the blank stares again?"

I felt her sat down near me. I didn't look at her and just stared at the night sky.

"I didn't feel anything. He told me he loves me and answered him half-heartedly or rather confused."

I heard her sigh.

"You are the worst, babe."

"I can see that."

"So what else did the both of you talk about?"

"We will have our first date as a couple tomorrow night."

"Oh my god. I am so excited babe! What will you do? Where are you going? Aww, I wish  my boyfriend will ask me for a date too."

I just smiled at her a bit.

"I do not know where we are going and I don't know either what we will do tomorrow."

"Oh my god!! Let me just remind you, babe. It is not the time yet to give him the red flag. You are just new to this, you still haven't even know  whether you love him or not."

My eyes widened and looked at her.

"What the hell are you talking about, babe! Of course, I won't give him that."

She laughed at me and I just can't help but laugh too.

"Just kidding but half meant. Anyways, I know how hard your head is, how hard as a rock your heart is so I am confident that you really will not give him that. I can even picture that you will give him a  punch if he dares to kiss you without permission."

I just keep laughing at what she is saying. It is because she got it right.

"You really are my best friend, huh?"

"What else?"

She arched her eyebrow while looking at me. I just look at the night sky again.

"I don't feel anything and it scares me."

She hugged me from behind and lean on my head.

"You can feel, you are not totally numb and void of feelings. You love your family, you love me, you care for many people. It's just that, maybe you are not really that familiar with the feeling of having someone to rely on, as you rely on yourself too much you get used to it. Maybe you are just scared to fall in love with somebody else. I do not exactly know the reason but I am sure that you can feel it in your heart. Just try to open up yourself to others, not just to me and your family."

"I will try."

"That's good. Then should we watch something to spend the night?"

I smiled and nodded at her. We spent the night watching whatever we want to watch. The next morning, we are still watching and fell asleep around 11 am. Babe just woke me up when she saw Mark's message that he will fetch me exactly 5 pm. I just prepared myself and take a bath. At exactly 5 pm, Mark really showed up in front of babe's door.

"Good afternoon. I am here to fetch my girlfriend. Sorry for the inconvenience."

"No worries, she is always welcome here. Enjoy your day. Give me a message if you are free, babe. Enjoy, remember, try to feel it."

I nodded at her and kissed her on her cheeks.

"I will try."

Mark opened the door of his car.

"Thank you."

A moment later, we are already inside a mall.

"Let's go. Let us buy first something to eat before we enter the movie theater."

I am about to nod my head but he suddenly grabbed my hand and lead the way. I am just following him. He bought anything that he thinks I will eat. Fries, Sundae, and many more sweets.

"Here we go. Ahm, this is the last movie that is available. Is it okay with you?"

I looked at the movie name and just nodded. I do not know the movie or even the actors and actresses. I just don't want to ruin his plans for this day.

"Let's go inside then."

We went inside and just a few people are watching. The place is so dark and cold. We took seats from the upper part and silently watch the movie. As the movie goes on, we noticed that the movie is an erotic drama. I am just eating the fries and the sundae and not minding the movie, not until Mark covered my eyes.

"What?"

"I-I don't want you to see what is happening on the screen."

"You chose this movie. Besides, I think it is just fine."

"No, I mean. This is not suitable for you."

I tried to shove his hand but he just hugged my head and pressed it against his chest.

"Let's just go out. It's being hot in here."

"Hot? But it's so cold."

"Haist! You don't understand. Let's go, love before I can do something not appropriate to you."

I just agreed and he lead the way out. We just roamed around the mall, buying or eating whatever. All throughout, he is holding my hand and not even letting it go for a second.

"Did you enjoy our first date as a couple?"

"I... did."

He smiled at me and lean on his back. We are already inside his car.

"I love you, love. I just can't believe that you let me be your partner. I promise I will not let you get hurt. I will not hurt you either."

With those sweet and caring words from him, I tried to feel anything from my heart. I am not feeling any butterflies in my stomach. My heart is not beating erratically. It feels normal.

"Thank you for loving me."
