I Am Just A Reader!
It was a bloodbath.
Bodies were laying everywhere, each and everyone of them covered in red crimson blood.
The smell of iron is fresh as a new corpse was being added every second that the battle wage on.
And I wonder if it was all worth it. Were the lives of those who was lost really amount to nothing for them to be used and thrown away so rashly? All for what?
For the power that everyone seem to want? For the glory and grandeur that comes with it? To be able to stand at the top and rule those whom one considers below them?
All for such useless materialistic things?!
"I never wanted this power..."
My murmured words were drowned out by the clashing of weapons and the screams of pain as I stood in the middle of it. Protected by the people who swore to me allegiance and loyalty, ready to sacrifice their life for my own.
I stand in the middle of a massacre and as I see my people die, risking their safety and life for me, a single lone tear slipped down my cheek.
Looking at the sky, my body began to shine a luminescent purple glow as the wind around me began to pick up, making my pure white dress flutter around me. The color of it completely stands out in a sea of red.
With one last deep breath, one last look in the crimson colored sky, and one last glance as the man who had become my everything in the short amount of time that we had shared together, I uttered one last sentence.
"I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise...Ethan"
My body began to shine so bright those around me covered their eyes in fear of being blinded by it. As my world slowly began to blacken and my consciousness started to fade, a shout of pure desperation and heartbreak reached my ears.
"Noooo!"

He had watched and seen it all. From the rising and falling of kingdoms. From the birth and death of those close to him. It was painful, yes. Watching the people around you grow up and live their lives to the fullest before finally passing on while he was just there, forever unchanging. His time unmoving and unchanged as he watched everything around him go on while he is forever stuck.
But none of them could compare to the pain that he is currently experiencing as he watched the love of his life disappear right in front of him.
The one who had made his world once again move and brought colors back to his, in his opinion, monochrome existence.
As he saw her use her powers to end this bloody massacre happening in front of him, he could do nothing more than to struggle to get to her side faster, in hopes of stopping her from doing what she was about to do.
Tears streamed down his face as the once strong and unyielding man broke in the midst of battle as he saw his soulmate vanish from his sight. He kept his eyes open even when others closed and shielded theirs, in a vain attempt to see her visage for the last time.
As his gaze latched on to the white figure slowly dissipating in a flurry of purple and white light, a scream full of desperation and heartbreak tore its way out of his mouth.
"Noooo!"
The painful feeling of their bond breaking attacked his body full force but he paid it no mind for his attention was fully on the fact that his soulmate was no more.
