Chapter 1

I was standing in a meadow. My feet were free from any restrictions, such as a shoe or a slipper, as my bare skin touched and felt the soft texture of the grass underneath it. Flowers the color of red and yellow were scattered all around me as my body spun on the spot, a small smile etched on my face.

After a moment, I stopped spinning and looked up, facing the wide blue sky. Fluffy looking clouds flitted about making the smile on my face grow bigger, as a feeling of contentment and utter bliss blossomed and bloomed inside me.

Taking a deep breath and inhaling the fresh air around me, I closed my eyes and savored this moment.

"Adira!"

A voice called out to me and my body reflexively turned around to where the sound came from. There, in the edge of the clearing in the meadow, stood a man. His face was blurry but from what I can see, he had the most amazing silver white hair that was left to feely cascade down his back. He was tall with well defined muscles, but not too much as to appear bulky. His body, in my opinion, was just right with no unnecessary extra bulk and made his body appear to be more on the leaner side.

Without my permission, my mouth opened and from there a happy voice called out.

"E̸t̸h̸a̸n̸!"

The man began to move towards my direction, but just as he was about to reach me my whole vision started to blacken and I found myself falling.

I woke up with a gasp as my eyes immediately closed after I opened it, the light coming from the window momentarily blinded me and stung slightly from the abrupt exposure. My green orbs looked around the room as I controlled my ragged breathing caused by the scary sensation of falling.

After calming down, my mind went back to my dream before I fell and woke up, but I quickly realized that I can't remember what it was about. What I do remember however, was the feeling of contentment and utter bliss that came with it. The happiness that I felt as I experienced what it was that I dreamt about.

"Hmm...I wonder what my dream was about to elicit such a feeling?" I wondered.

I carded my fingers through my fiery red hair as I tried to remember, but it was for naught. I got nothing.

Sighing, I decided to stop my futile attempt to jog my memory and instead opted to prepare myself for the day to come. Looking at the clock, I saw that it was 7:30 in the morning and my classes start at 9:00 am.

I stood up from my bed and debated wether to sleep for a few more minutes before taking a bath, but one glance from the bookshelf in the corner of my room and my decision was made. Instead of going to the bathroom, I changed my body's direction of movement towards the bookshelf instead.

My fingers brushed softly to each and every spine of books lined neatly together and stopped at one particular novel titled; His Vampire Mate and Her Alpha

As the title suggests, it's a book about an Alpha werewolf and his vampire mate. The two races were natural enemies and the two of them had to get through many hardships in order for them to have their happy ending. With their own instincts both screaming to love and hate one another, their bond was tested and tried, but in the end the two of them managed through it all and was finally happy.

This was one of my all-time favorites. Taking the book into my hands, I went towards the sofa in the corner of the bookshelf with a small coffee table beside it and took a seat. I flipped the book open and began to read the book for the 10th time this week.

As I immersed myself into the world inside the book, time outside of it began to flow. The next time I looked at the clock, I almost just about jumped up from the sofa after seeing the time; 8:30 am

"Seriously?! I only have 30 minutes left!"

Hurrying to the bathroom, I got a quick shower and brushed my teeth before a black shirt topped with some brown denim jacket. For the pants, I have on a blue denim jeans coupled with a pair of black leather combat boots. I pulled my hair into a high ponytail and I was done! A quick look and nod of approval for myself in the mirror and I was ready to go. The only problem is that I only have about 10 minutes more before classes starts. But luckily for me, the university is only a 5-minute drive from my apartment.

Stepping out from the building, I quickly went inside my purple Toyota Camry and drove to school in a rush. Stepping out from my car, I barely made it in time with only a few second left to spare.

Sliding into one of the seats, I sighed a sigh of relief when the bell rang a few seconds after.

"Got lost into the world of books again?" A whisper from my left surprised me enough to let out a small yelp. Hearing a quiet snicker from the side, I glared at the offender which was none other than my best friend, Eliza.

"Not funny! I almost didn't make it in time. You know how Mrs. Beth is towards late and lazy students." I whispered back to her as said teacher began to write something in the board up-front before facing the rest of us.

"By the way, have you heard the news?" Eliza asked me just as I was about to face the front prompting me to look at her once more.

"What?"

"Apparently we have some new transfer students..." she trailed off as her attention was pulled from the front. Looking at what got her attention enough to stop her from telling me the news, I quickly found out why she was quick to be quiet.

A man was standing at the front of the class wearing a white shirt and some black pants coupled with a pair of white sneakers. The said man had shoulder length black hair with some beautiful blue orbs, that looked like sapphires, for eyes. Said eyes were currently locked to that of my best friend and a teasing smirk found it's way to my lips

"Someone has a crush. And by the looks of it, the attraction isn't one sided~"

Snapping out from her daze, Eliza quickly shoved my shoulder playfully just as another man entered the room. And this time, it was my turn to fall into a daze.
