CHAPTER 2: THE PREPARATION

'What the hell is going on?'

Rayyan who just arrived at Smith's villa, was shocked to see his family house. The gardeners are preparing the garden and the maids are so busy cleaning the house. He parked his blue black Volkswagen Arteon and entered the house while being greeted by the maids.

Rayyan found his mum at the library. He took the chair beside Mrs Smith and hugged her. Mrs. Smith smiles broadly while looking at her youngest son."Welcome home,dear.How are you?"

"I'm not fine. What's the deal,mum? With all the grand preparations. I don't think it's just a normal formal dinner if the maid just cleared the mini hall." Rayyan asked in confusion. Why should they cleaned the hall if it's just a dinner. They will have the dinner in the dining hall, why bother to care about the medium-sized hall which located in the middle of the garden.

"Well, it's a secret. It's a surprise from us. You know, your father and I really hate boring, repetitive event. So,we added a bit 'fun' into this dinner. Don't you think it's exciting, Ryry?" Mrs Smith innocently stares into Rayyan's eyes while hugging Rayyan's arm.

Rayyan tried to avert Mrs Smith's eyes. Well,he doesn't really into surprise. He prefers to be well-informed about something."But, don't you think that the guests will be angry? Because they don't get informed about it. They may be shocked and there will be some of them that feel unsatisfied. It'll affect our business relationship." He changes the focus to the guests. Well, it's true. Some of the rich-arrogant old man will get pissed over a small thing if it doesn't meet their preferences.

Mrs Smith softly laughs." Don't worry,dear. We already told them about the surprise. We already expected that there will a protest if we inform them the details during the dinner on the spot." She puts her book away and faced Rayyan." You worried that you will lose some business partner,huh?"

Rayyan rested his chin on Mrs Smith's shoulder.

"Of course, I am. It's our family empire and I don't want to destroy the Smith's hardwork." He snuggles into his mother's shoulder." Wait,does it means that I am the only one who doesn't know about the surprise?"

"Well,it seems so..." Mrs Smith playfully answers. Rayyan slightly pouted.

"Why can't you just tell me? I'm your son,right? You know, I hate surprise.."

"No can do, honey. I already promised your father to keep it as a secret from you. Well, it's like a present for you." She pats Rayyan's black hair." Just wait for it,okay?"

"Okay,fine. I will wait for it like a good boy.." Rayyan finally give up. There's no use to keep persuading his mother if she already promised father."Hmmm,mom. Can I dye my hair?" He silently asks his mother." I want a bolder colour such as blonde,maybe? Just like Richard and father."

"What? My answer is no! You've been asking for it since two years ago and my answer is still no!" Mrs Smith jerked away from Rayyan." Why do  you want to change your hair colour? We have the same hair colour. Why you want to go blonde like Richard and father? You have a beautiful soft fluffy hair, though." She plays with Rayyan's hair.

In the family,Mr Smith and Richard,the eldest son have the same hair colour and they are both Alpha. On the other hand, Mrs Smith and Rayyan have a black hair and they are both Omega.

"But, I want to look more stern and furious"

Mrs Smith pinched Rayyan's cheek." You will never look scary with this face of yours. You have a small thin lips, a big dark brown eyes and this soft fair cheeks. You are a carbon copy of me,my dear. Isn't it great?"

"Actually I want to lose this cheeks because it makes me look younger. But,no matter what exercise I did,it never change."Rayyan touches his own cheeks. Richard always pinched them when they were younger and even now. 'Maybe that's why it stay this way'

"There's no need to. I love them." Mrs Smith sneered. She stands up and pulls Rayyan to stand along." Go and get some rest. You just returned from work and you must be tired. The maid will call you later for dinner,okay?"

"Okay,okay. See you later,mum." Rayyan went to his room to take some rest. He also brings some works home, so he can complete it by tonight. Buried in the workloads,he forgets about the surprise dinner.
