It's raining heavily today, I shouldn't have gone out.

"Haaah...." (Sighing)

This reminds me of my first meeting with him. It was the day of my nth breakup, and it was raining heavily too that day...

“Rachael”

“Huh?”

“Ah, sorry. You're Rachael, right? You dropped your ID.”

“Oh thank you for picking it up.”

“No problem. You should keep it in a safe place, it would be a problem if you dropped it again.” he smiled and kindly adviced me.

“Thank you for the advice.” I smiled back

I don't know why I feel so embarrassed. And.. now that I look carefully, he's kinda cute. But not my type though.

Baah! What am I thinking? I have just broke up with my boyfriend and now I'm already looking at another guy?

“Are you alright?” he asked me with a concerned voice

“Pardon?” I answered

“Ah, no. I saw that you seem to be frowning.. so I was wondering if I did something wrong?”

“...You did not. I was lost in my thoughts. I apologize for the misunderstanding.”

“No! I should be the one apologizing! I'm sorry..” he showed a panicked face.

Crap. How did it come to this? What should I do now? Should I comfort him or should I just let him be? He's not gonna cry is he?

While I was thinking on what to say, I didn't notice the bus have arrived. And it seems he didn't noticed it either. By the time we realised, the bus is gone. We were lost at words..

“Ah... ****.” ****. I accidentally said what was on my mind. I don't know why I immediately looked at him. He seem surprised by what I said. I was about to say something when he interrupted me.

“I'm very sorry! I made us missed the bus!”

“...It's not your fault” it's true. It's not his fault, I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings that I didn't notice the bus.

“Then I'll be leaving.” I stood up and get ready to leave

“But it's raining?”

“It's fine. I'm in a hurry” I don't want to be here even for a second anymore.

“T-then how about I order a taxi for the both of us? I'll pay!”

Is this what I think it is? The one where you go to someone who's alone at the bus stop and then distract them to miss the bus and then offer them to take a taxi with you so that they will know where you live and then at night they'll rob you??

'I have to get out of here quickly' I unconsciously hold my self-defence keychain.

It seems he noticed what I was thinking and explained himself nervously.

“It's not what you're thinking about! I just thought it would be easier!”

I looked at him silently and see what he's gonna do next.

“H-how about this then? I'll give you money for the taxi! It's my fault you missed the bus anyway... If you run all the way like that no matter how far it is, you'll catch a cold!” It seems that he still thinks that he is in the wrong.

“No need.” I quickly left from there and ran as quickly as I can....

...If I remember correctly, I got a cold the next day.

“...Chael!”

“Hm?”

“What were you thinking so deeply? I called you many times but you didn't answer. It is dangerous because you don't pay attention to your surroundings!” a hopeless voice sounded in my ears

I looked at him silently, should I say I was thinking about our first meeting? I let out a small laugh.

“..You're not thinking anything weird, are you?”

“...I'm not. What are you doing here? Weren't you working?”

“It's raining so heavily and you forgot your umbrella!”

“...I see. Thank you. Let's go back.”

“Weren't you going to meet up with your friends?” he asked confused

“...I'll just tell them I can't make it. Come on, let's go”

“Okay!” he replied with a cheery voice

Is he that happy I didn't get to meet up with my friends? Hah(sigh)... Clingy.

“Your ears are turning pink.” He suddenly whisper to me

I was caught off guard and reflexively said, “No. You saw it wrong.”

“Oh, I see. Sorry”
