The Mental Love
haruki was a patient in mental centre and he falls in love with girl named sakhura who was doctor in mental centre.
sakhura is pretty cute, Haruki thinks to himself one day as he sits on his bed waiting for his next appointment. She looks so much like a little kid; her big doe eyes and chubby cheeks making Haruki’s heart skip a beat as she sits down beside him after checking that everything was okay.
Haruki tries not to stare when she talks because she doesn’t realise it. But he does notice the way her cheeks flush pink when they are together and he feels a warm feeling settle in his chest every time their hands brush against each other accidentally. He likes sakhura, he decides, and hopes to spend as much time with her as possible.
He gets into a fight with her boyfriend during his last year of residency, and they break up before Haruki can see sakhura again. But he sees her around and whenever he sees her smile at someone else he always makes sure she notices him. Haruki knows sakhura is seeing a therapist, but he still wishes he could be there with her whenever she needed someone to support her through her difficult times.
One month later they meet again, and Haruki is more nervous than ever about what will happen this time.
They get back together after Haruki tells sakhura how he feltabout her. After he tells sakhura he still wants to be with her he takes her hand in his and holds it. Her hands are soft like silk in his and they fit perfectly within his own and for some reason he feels completely content.
After a while sakhura kisses him, her fingers tangling themselves into his hair and he wonders if he should push her away or kiss her back. But eventually, she breaks off the kiss and leans her forehead against his, looking at him in the eye. “I want you to come and visit me at the clinic. You should take care of yourself instead of taking medication that is causing your illness to become worse. Please, let us make amends. I promise I won’t ask for anything in return, just please let me help you!”
Haruuki doesn’t want to admit it, but he misses sakhura more than he would like to admit. So, he agrees to go with sakhura to her clinic, even though he has no desire whatsoever. However, when they step foot in the building and he sees sakhura talking with another person in front of an open office door, he decides he is willing to do anything if it means he’ll get to spend the rest of his life with her.Haruki smiles when sakhura turns towards him and he gives her an apologetic look before walking towards her.
It’s been over a week since Haruki last saw sakhura. The only contact between them is in passing as sakhura rushes to get home in the evenings. Every single evening they spend together, Haruki finds himself wondering why sakhura can’t stay longer. He knows he shouldn’t get attached, especially to a woman who probably only sees him as a colleague, but Haruki can’t help himself. His mind keeps drifting back to the past, remembering the first time he laid his eyes on sakhura as she was trying to escape from the crowd and Haruki couldn’t help but feel happy. It felt like something had clicked in his brain and all at once Haruki was falling for her.
But then something changed, he noticed the change when he tried to call sakhura, and it made things harder for both of them. It didn’t seem right, somehow. Haruki didn’t know what exactly happened, but he was sure that he wasn’t supposed to have feelings for sakhura. He loved his friends, yes, but they didn’t mean as much to him as sakhura did.
So Haruki kept his distanceHe stayed out of his old room, never went near sakhura and he tried to keep his relationship platonic with her as much as he could. Whenever sakhura asked him for anything, Haruki denied it immediately. He knew he shouldn’t say yes to everything sakhura wanted, but sometimes Haruki got stuck in his head and couldn’t find a way to turn it off, so he would give in. But he wouldn’t tell her the full truth. He promised.
He had a friend who worked as an art teacher at a university. He talked to him, told him he wanted to become an artist after working at the hospital for three months. His friend understood, offered Haruki advice and helped him out financially, but when Haruki left work he was left confused and disappointed. He was so close to giving in to sakhura.
That was until sakhura confessed to him. When she said she loved him, Haruki was so overwhelmed by her words and the feelings they brought that he didn’t know what to say. All he wanted to do was say yes. To hug sakhura tightly and hold her close and never let go.
Instead, Haruki said no. And he broke sakhura’s heart. He broke her trust. But now Haruki has finally decided to do what he needs to.
He will move in with sakhura, start fresh with her and show her just how much he loves her.
Chapter 2
‘’Good morning!’’ Haruki greets cheerfully when sakhura steps outside the elevator and into the reception area.
‘’Good morning’’ sakhura mumbles in response. ‘’What a pleasant surprise to see you here.’’
‘’Why thank you’’ Haruki responds with a smile before turning serious. ‘’You look good today.’’
Haruki has spent the entire night thinking about his new girlfriend and planning out their date. They have gone out to eat many times before and Haruki is convinced that if sakhura liked what he was wearing, it would be worth it.
When he met sakhura at the restaurant she looked incredible in that dress. She looked stunning. The white lace fabric complimented her dark skin beautifully and her long blonde hair framed her face perfectly as her green eyes glittered.
‘’Thank you’’ sakhura replied softly, blushing slightly. ‘’Your outfit looks great too.’’
‘Oh’’ Haruki laughed sheepishly. ‘’Thanks. It’s one of my favourites.’’
‘’Do you go to our school?’’ sakhura inquired.
‘’Not really…’’ Haruki trailed off, suddenly unsure. ‘’My roommate does, and I guess I went to school once but that was when we were kids and I don’t think I remember any of it.’’
Sakhura smiled gently. ‘’Well, I hope you’re having a nice time here. Your roommate must be very excited.’’
Haruki laughed loudly. ‘’Yeah, he is’’ he agreed. ‘’The apartment building is beautiful, isn’t it?’’
‘’Yes.’’ sakhura nodded with a fond expression. ‘’It is. Do you live with your roommate now?’’
Haruki shook his head. ‘’No. My boyfriend and I are living together but I have to pay rent myself. We can’t afford to buy two apartments.’’That’s unfortunate. Have you thought of moving somewhere else soon then?’’ sakhura questioned carefully. Haruki frowned, thinking hard.
‘’I don’t know. Maybe… I have thought about leaving, but now that I’ve met you I can’t bring myself to leave you behind’’ Haruki replied honestly, smiling shyly.
Sakhura giggled softly. ‘’Me neither’’ she answered. ‘’I can’t stand to be apart from you either.’’
A sudden pang of anxiety hit Haruki’s stomach and the butterflies he had felt earlier returned tenfold. He swallowed nervously.
‘’I’m sorry, I- I really do love you and I don’t deserve you’’ he said quietly.
Sakhura blinked owlishly. ‘’Huh? What do you mean?’’
‘’I’ve hurt you so much…’’ Haruki began, tears forming in his eyes. ‘’We aren’t meant to be together. You love someone else…’’
