AMNESIA

The sun rose and the morning arrived. I was wide awake till morning light. I dozed off in the morning. I slept with my head on my mother's lap. CRASH!!. I woke up. I found out a soldier stepped on the door and fell into the basement. "Two recruits here"He shouted, "Hurry up!". Everything fell apart at that moment. I panicked and I started to sweat heavily. The soldier came near me and held my hand. He dragged me out of the basement. Tears poured out of my eyes. I couldn't make any sound , just tears.

I was sent into a truck back rack. My father was sent to a different truck. There were four other boys on the truck. A boy came close and asked me "what's your name?". "Kairo" I replied, " And what's your name? " . He replied "Kim Watson". He was sixteen years old, a year younger than me. I turned seventeen on June couple of months ago. Our conversation went on. It turned out he lived in the town named Fotruss, which was a neighboring town of Town Trienk where I was from. He was scared but he didn't show that much at his face. We reached the venue. "Get off" said the driver. I got off the truck. It was a wide and open area. Soldiers were running on the field. Gun shots were coming from far away. "Hurry up! get on the field" said the soldier. We gathered in large group. "Assemble in a straight line" A guy shouted. We assembled. He turned out to be our trainer. He had a scary face. He told us that we would be trained for upcoming war. We ran hundred laps round the field that day. It was evening. Me and Kim headed out towards the canteen. We ate dinner and went to sleep. The training camp lasted for four months. I learned the basics required for the battle. I also learned to use weapons.

The war had already begun. After the four months of training, we were ready for the war. It was winter. We were planned to go to a place called Trome. Captain Fringe was the in charge of this mission. There were five military vehicle full of soldiers. We left earlier in the morning. The road was steep and slippery a bit , probably due to last night snow fall. We travelled for roughly two hours when we reached a bridge. It was around hundred meter long. It was 6 AM. While we were passing through the bridge, the vehicle on the front blew away. "It's a land mine. We're being ambushed" The captain shouted. Kim was on that vehicle. I was shocked. We had become best friends during those four months of training. The gun firing started from both ends of the bridge. Fortunately, I was on the third vehicle. The terrorist blindly fired toward us. My soldiers died with a blink of an eye. We were helpless. I jumped over from the bridge. In the process, I got hit by a bullet on my left arm. It was a long fall. Luckily, the river was deep enough for me to survive. The water was freezing. I couldn't hustle against the water current due to my injured arm. I went helplessly along the water current. I passed out by cold.

A bright light struck my eyes. I woke up. It was mid-day and I found myself at a river bank. "So you're awake", a girl voice. I startled and turned around. I saw a girl with a green eyes wearing a straw craft hat. There was a campfire beside me. "My name is May. What's your name? " She asked. I said her my name. She told me that I was lying on the river bank and I was passed out for three hours. She lit up the campfire to keep my body warm."Where do you live?"She asked. And then I found out that I had amnesia. She was quite shocked when I told her I couldn't recall anything other than my name. My backpack was driven away by the river stream while I was unconscious. She was kind. She asked me to come to her house. I agreed. Her house was across the forest. She told me that she was collecting the firewoods when she saw me lying unconscious on the river bank. She also told me that the village she was from was called Pallet.
