Chapter 1 - Raki, the Queen Of Hell

Chapter

1 – Raki, The Queen of Hell

Kiel here! What’s up? I suppose Athy filled you in on the goings on here

in Cielo and the Five Planes, so I’ll just jump into the adventure.

So, it was early in the morning, I was sleeping peacefully, when,

like always, in bursts Athy, who proceeds to shake me awake.

“Damn it, Athy!” I yelled, pissed off, “Can you not do that every

damned day?! I have ears!”

“Don’t be so whiney, Ki,”Athy told me, “Pops has a job for us, and every

word I say is one more moment he has to wait. Eria and DAG are

already up, and I’m not going near Raine’s room, so you can wake

him up.”

Athy probably already told you how M-rated Raine’s room is, but it must

be said again, no female should be subjected to his figure

collections. Not even Athy.

After getting Raine up, we headed to the throne room, where Lord Tyrus was

nervously pacing in circles. He rejoiced upon seeing one of his

precious babies.

“Ah, my sweet daughter Relathica!” he cried, rushing over to hug her,

“The mere sight of you calms my worried heart!”

Lord Tyrus treasures every one of his babies, which include our favorite

little brat, a Love Goddess who doesn’t understand the concept of

personal space, a War God who is the manliest man in all of Manville,

and an Underworld God who is, ironically, the most level-headed of

the lot.

“Pops, I get it, I’m happy to see you too,” Athy reacted coldly to his

display of affection, “Now, what is the super urgent mission you

called us all here for?”

Lord Tyrus quickly regained his composure.

“Yes, of course,” he began, clearing his throat, “Here’s the

situation. Three days ago, a powerful Demon, known only as Raki,

escaped from the Underworld. I quickly sent Gerram, his lead Demigod

Sayel, and Sayel’s Amora Aero, to her last known location, Relic

Forest, to recapture her. However, I haven’t heard a single word

from them since I sent them out. Gerram, being a War God, and the

leader of our military, is very serious about keeping communication

with me, so three days without a single communication has me worried

indeed. So, your mission is to find them. Assist them if they are in

the middle of fighting but try to avoid contact with Raki if

possible. She is considered highly dangerous.”

Lord Tyrus opened a portal for us to New Athens Forest. King Gods have the

power to open portals to any location within their domain. The five

of us stepped through and began our mission.

Relic Forest, while one of the milder forests in Cielo, is still a forest.

And the fact that a powerful demon was probably hiding somewhere

inside made it creepy as Hell. Eria was practically attached to my

arm.

“T-t-this place is creepy, Kiel,” she timidly stated, “And that D-D-Demon

could be anywhere…”

“No worries, Eri,” Raine told her, “I’ll defeat her for you, and

for all of the lovely ladies present!”

“Damn it, Kiel, did you forget to put Raine’s leash on again?” Athy joked, “He

better not slobber on me! This is my best battle outfit!”

“Shut it, Athy! I bet you I can beat this thug myself! Why did Lord Tyrus

send all of us? It’s one Demon.”

“Yeah, Raine, one Demon. One Demon that probably kicked the big bro's ***!

How many times have you challenged Gerram and lost? I stopped

counting after the fifteenth time!”

“Do not blame Raine, Lady Relathica,” DAG said in her usual monotone

voice, “His low intelligence leaves him unable to learn from

mistakes and comprehend impossible situations.”

“Keep the abuse coming, why don’t ya?” Raine growled, “Ki, Eri, you

guys got any snarky remarks you wanna get out?”

“Nope,” I replied, “Athy and Daggy summed it up pretty well I think.”

Eria giggled a little. And then we heard a laugh that wasn’t from Eria,

or anyone from our group, off in the distance. DAG turned toward the

direction of the laughing.

“Scanning…” she said, activating her sensors, “Detecting one God, with 7

percent power remaining, one Demi-God, with 12 percent power

remaining, and one Demon, with 84 percent power remaining.”

“Wait!” Eria cried, “What about little sis Aero? Don’t tell me she’s…”

“I am detecting Amora energy, but it’s somehow completely obscured by

Demon energy… Impossible to get an accurate reading…”

Just then, two bodies flew past us, and landed several yards behind us. We

rushed over to them, and to our shock and horror, it was Gerram and

Sayel. Gerram was completely out, and Sayel was barely conscious.

Eria began healing them both immediately.

“Come on, Sayel, stay with us,”Athy urged her, “What in the Hell

happened? Where’s Aero?”

“P-please…” Sayel cried weakly, “Help Aero… She… She’s been…”

“She’s been turned into the most useful puppet I could have asked for,”

said an evil sounding voice behind us. We turned around, and saw what

looked like our sweet little Aero, but with yellow eyes and an evil

grin that she normally would be incapable of.

“You unforgivable TRASH!!!” Raine cried out, “You…you…”

“Possessed your little flower? But of course. The key to battle is to take the

advantage, and what better advantage is there than having control of

a body that your enemies would never attack? Now, care to play? Since

the toys I was playing with are broken, I could use a few new ones.

Ones that might actually fight back.”

“Screw you!” Relathica screamed, “I’m pounding you right now!!!”

I quickly grabbed her arm.

“Athy, don’t forget she has Aero’s body!” I reminded her, “Aero

hasn’t done anything wrong! We can’t just pulverize her!”

“What other choice do we have?! I’m not letting this Demon make us her

punching bags while we just take it!”

At that point, DAG grabbed Athy by the shoulder and whispered something

into her ear.

“The heck?” Athy replied, seemingly a bit shocked, “I never knew

that!”

“If you've got a plan, Steelface, it would help to share it with the

group!” Raine told her.

“I've got a better plan,” Athy said, “Eria, you heal up bro and Sayel.

Ki and Creepy, you two keep Raki busy for a bit. Me and DAG have

something to take care of!”

“You kidding me? Me and Ki deal with a high-level Demon in a friend’s

body?”

“You said earlier you could kick her butt, right? Keeping her in place for

ten or so minutes should be no problem! Trust me on this, you two!”

Without saying another word, Athy and DAG zoomed off, leaving Raine and I to

get our asses kicked.

“Awww, only two to play with now?” Raki whined, “Oh well, no matter. I

can have some fun with that.”

“Damn it!” Raine groaned, “What is that pint-sized princess doing

leaving us to deal with this?!”

“Just bear with it,” I told him, “When Athy has a plan, we just play

our part and things will work out.”

“How much trust do you have in that girl, Ki? You two are always at each

other’s throats!”

“The little brat may be annoying, but I’d trust her with my life any

day! Now let’s figure out how we’re gonna survive this without

hurting Aero!”

“Jeeeeez,” Raki complained, “Are you done with your little plan yet? Unless

you boys are about to make out, I’m attacking now!”

And with that, the fight began. Raki dashed straight at us. I jumped to

left, while Raine jumped to the right. Raine drew his sword, more to

defend himself than to attack.

“Nice toy, little boy!” Raki taunted him, “Let’s see how well it

protects you against this!”

She dashed toward him, attacked with a forceful hand ******. Raine

managed to block it with the sword but got knocked backwards into a

tree. Without missing a beat, she turned to me and came at me with

the same attack. I dodged, but by so small a margin that she cut my

chest a bit. I seized my chance, and grabbed her arm, and tried to

force her to the ground. Yeah, nice try Kiel. She threw me like a

throw pillow.

“Please, give me more credit than that, Little Kiel,” Raki said, taunting us

yet again, “I may be in this fragile, soft human body, but I still

have my own defensive and offensive powers!”

Well, if that’s the case…

“Eria!” I yelled to my trusted Amora, “Got enough power to spare for an

attack-up spell?”

Eria, who was healing Sayel and Gerram, nodded, and shot a red colored ball

of condensed power in my direction. It hit me, and I felt like strong

as Hell! Amora powers are always helpful to their Demi-gods, but Eria

is particularly talented as an Amora, and her boosts and healing

powers often help me out of particularly deadly situations.

“Ooooh, glowy!” Raki cheekily commented on the red glow coming from me

after the attack-up spell, “But will it make you more fun to

kill?!”

She came at me with a punch this time. Thanks to the boost, I was able to

catch and stop the punch. Using this brief chance to gain the upper

hand Raine got behind her and kicked her feet out from under her,

allowing me to force her to the floor.

“Finally got you!” I yelled, “Now stay down!”

At these words, Raki lost her evil smile and replaced it with a face

that could terrify a hardened criminal.

“You think you have me?” she hissed in the most sinister voice I’ve

heard from her yet, “Don’t…you dare…underestimate…THE QUEEN

OF HELL!!!”

She suddenly unleashed a burst of energy that sent both Raine and I

flying.

“I will not be underestimated!!!” she cried out angrily, “Especially

not by a damned human!!!”

She walked over to Raine, pierced his heart with her hand (he’s an

Angel, he’ll come back to life in a bit) and grabbed his sword.

Then, before I even had time to react to Raine getting taken out,

Raki had the point of his sword touching my throat. Eria was

completely focused on healing Gerram and Sayel, and was running low

on energy, so there was nothing she could do to help me. Raine was

dead on the ground, and it would be several minutes before he

resurrected. I was on the ground with the wind knocked out of me, and

a pissed off Demon pointing my best friend’s sword at my throat.

“You know, that’s what I hate about killing Angels and Demons,” Raki

whispered darkly, “They don’t fear death, because they just come

back later, and go about their day. That’s why I escaped the

Underworld. Maiming and killing the same Demons every damn day was so

boring. But now here I stand, holding a sword to a human’s throat.

When I pierce you with this sword, I’ll get to watch the life

forever leave your eyes. My only regret is that the fear of death in

your eyes will also leave, but we can’t have everything, I

suppose.”

Is this how it ends? Cut down by an insane, bloodthirsty Demon? Unable

to save a friend who called me Big Brother Kiel? I closed my eyes and

waited to feel the cold steel of the sword pierce my neck. However,

what I felt next wasn’t cold steel going though my neck, but a pair

of warm arms gently wrapping around it.

“Big Brother, Kiel!!!” Aero cried, “I’m so sorry!!!”

I sighed the deepest sigh of relief ever as tears dripped from Aero’s

gentle green eyes.

“It’s okay Little Sis,” I reassured her, gently patting her head.

Relathica and DAG returned ten minutes later, as Gerram and Sayel were

regaining consciousness, Raine was coming back to life, and Eria and

Aero were finishing up healing me.

“You guys look more like crap than usually,” Athy teased Raine and I,

“And that’s saying something.”

“If you two didn’t save me at the last second, I’d tell you to shove

it,” I told her, “So just what did you two do?”

“Well, our walking encyclopedia here informed me that in order to possess

someone else's body, the possessor must first eject their soul from

their own body. However, this leaves the possessor’s body limp and

vulnerable. And if that body is harmed, the soul instantly returns,

ending the possession.”

“Wait, so if you found Raki’s body, where is she?”

“Well, DAG and I located it, and were about to bind it and stab it, but she

must have sensed us approaching it, and returned to it herself and

quickly fled. So, we couldn’t catch her, but at least we saved your

bacon.”

“Not gonna complain about that.”

Raine walked over to where we were, clutching his chest.

“Can the one who actually died join this conversation too?” he joked.

“You died over 500 years ago from a sword slash to the back,” Athy joked

back, “What does that have to do with what we’re discussing?”

“Are you sure you’re not an Ice Goddess, because that was coooooooold!”

Sayel, Gerram, and Aero were off to the side, having a tear-filled reunion.

“Take a look over there, bro,” I told Raine, “That’ll warm you right

up.”

Raine looked over at them, and a big smile spread across his face.

“What do you know, you’re right.”

Five-Planes 101, by Athy!

Athy: Hello everyone, Athy here! At the end of every chapter, I'll give you

all a short lesson about something discussed in that chapter!

Gerram: (whispering to Kiel) Why the Hell is this necessary? We all know this

shit!

Kiel: (whispering back) The author wanted a silly way to end each chapter,

and a way to give the audience additional information.

Sayel: Do we even have fourth-wall clearance?

Athy: Hey, all of you shut up! Teacher giving a lesson here! Now, today

we're discussing the forests of Cielo. There are many forests all

over Cielo, and they all have unique wildlife. However, this wildlife

can range from the adorable creatures hiding in the Relic Forest, to

the horribly powerful Ancient Beasts living inside the ominously

named Liliana's Woods. All of the charted forests have signs at all

entrances with with wildlife info and warnings, but never enter any

forest unprepared! Or you'll end up a mess, like Gerram!

Gerram: Hey! Damn it, you little sh-...!

Athy: See you next time!
