Episode 3

'Ehh? His interest increased! Ah.. right. He likes things that are challenging and interesting. Well…seems like it is not a bad idea to go out with him'

“Ahh.. no.. It’s okay. Everyone can still call me beautiful. I don’t mind at all” Yuri quickly said nervously

‘Hah! Right. How could a princess live without people telling her how beautiful she is’

“Princess. We wouldn’t want Your Highness to be sad again. So, the Duke asked everyone to stop calling the Princess beautiful. That way people won't even hurt Your Highness's feelings. I am sorry Your Highness, we have to leave first. We are hungry right honey?” Jennifer squeezed Damien's hand lightly urging him to corporate.

“Ahh..Yes.. We have to go now. My honey and I are hungry”

He released the hand he is holding and wrapped in around her waist instead and pulled her closer to him.

‘Name calling can increase his interest by two percent? Wow.. I called him an ashole but it didn’t increase his

interest though.. hah’*

They left the restaurant and went to another one which was down the street. Both of them are too tired to deal with

Yuri right now.

They were walking side by side but no longer holding hands or hugging.

“Hey” he started

“What?”

“What happened to you?”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean, you wouldn’t do something like that before when Yuri bully you. You will only come to me and cry” he laughed

“Right. Because my boyfriend can’t protect me. That is why I have to protect myself” She smiled at him.

“Jenny. Are you really okay? You look like you have become another person since yesterday”

“None of your business though?” She spat and walked ahead of him.

He chased behind her and grabbed her wrist. She didn’t turn back but she didn’t continue walking anymore.

“Jenny. Tell me what happened to you. I will help you”

‘Help you say? How can you help me get back to my own world?’

“You can’t”

She pushed his hand away and continue walking. She had tears in her eyes but she didn’t want to break down in front of him. The wind was blowing strongly. She rubbed her hands and hugged herself, trying to get warmer. Her dress didn’t help in keeping her warm at all. She regret wearing this dress. Out of nowhere, a coat covered her head. She looked behind her.

“It’s because I feel hot and I didn’t have anywhere to put my coat” he looked away blushing.

‘Hot? Pfft..How cute’

“Thank you” she smiled sincerely for the first time to him.

He blushed even more.

After sending Jennifer back to her mansion, Damien went to his secret lover who was bedridden. Damien get to know his lover from a party which was organized in the royal place. The girl and Damien get along very well and Damien fall in love with her on the first sight because she is really beautiful. Although to him, Jennifer’s look is quite pretty, but it couldn’t compare to his lover. Sometimes he wonder if he really loves his lover because when he saw how she bullied and scold the maid, he felt bad for the maid. He will always give them a tons of compensation and tell them to find a better owner. They become a couple when she save him from a poisonous arrow that was aiming for him because he felt that love is being able to sacrifice for one another and she sacrificed herself just to protect him.

“You are back” she smiled at him brightly.

She has blonde straight hair, green doe eyes, small nose and thick attractive lips.

“Yes. You missed me?” he smiled at her and walked towards her bed

She quickly embraced him in her arms. She looked up at him with puckered lips and got closer to his face but he looked away quickly and use the back of his hand to cover his mouth as if  it was a shield to protect him.

Although they have become a couple for almost 3 months, he never let her kiss him. He don’t know why he just couldn’t kiss her. He feels that she is beautiful and kind but he just couldn’t kiss her.

“Why don’t you let me kiss you?”

“…”

“Don’t you love me?”

“I love you. Of course I do”

“Then, kiss me”

She closed her eyes, waiting for him to kiss her. He hesitated but still force himself to lean in…

‘Knock! Knock!’

She opened her eyes and he pulled away quickly and straightened himself.

“Come in”

“Sir, there is no news about the crystal that we have been searching but the group of researchers we sent out to search for the crystal said that the crystal seems like it has already been found and used by someone else a couple of months ago. So, it is not possible to find it anymore.”

“Alright. You can go now”

She took his hand and rubbed it with her cheek. He could felt tears wetting the back of his hand. He scrunched down on his knee and take a look at her face.

“What’s wrong?”

“The crystal could not be found anymore. Do I have to stay here forever and wait until I die?” she cried

“I still have another option though. I can still get the crystal from Jennifer”

“No. Don’t go to her. You should stay away from her. You know she likes you. You will fall in love with her if you

spend time with her everyday”

“Shhh..Don’t cry. I won’t fall in love with her okay? She is not as beautiful as you. I will get the crystal for you. You saved me. You are the only one who will become the duchess okay?” he assured her and pulled her into a hug. She nodded and lean her head on his shoulder, smirking.

‘Of course she is no match for me. She is just an ugly duckling with pimples on her face’

“Miss Olivia, how can I assist you?”

“Send this letter to the Johan, the leader of the research group. Tell him that our plan succeed, that useless guy

took the bait”

She smiled happily and handed the letter to the maid. Then, she walked towards the bed and laughed at herself for being such a genius.

She didn’t think that it would be this easy to manipulate the Duke. Originally, she just wanted to get some money from the Duke because she saves his life. Well.. she has planned this ahead. So, of course she has the antidote, the crystal with her even before she was poisoned. But, the Duke decided to take care of her and even found a group of researcher to find the crystal. She didn’t notice that the researchers are also the assassins that she recruited. She made a deal with them and said that she would help them to gain extra money if they are willing to help her to get the things she wanted. A win-win situation. After staying in the mansion for almost three months, getting treated like a princess, she didn’t want to leave here. She didn’t like the Duke but to her, power and money is everything she dreamed for.

'As long as he doesn't find the crystal, I will be able to stay by his side. As for that Jennifer, I can just ask the assassin to kidnap her or kill her when time comes. I need to find out where she put the crystal so I can sell it for a huge amount of money since it will be the only one that is left now' Olivia thought and a smile was spread across her face.

After Damien went home, Jennifer took a stroll in the garden. She wanted to at least enjoy something in this world. Suddenly the system box popped out.

Why do I always meet the target in a garden? No! I don’t want to meet anyone

A magic circle appeared underneath her and suddenly she is inside of a dark room. She became pale. Jennifer looked around but she could not see anything. She trembled in fear as she touched she wall on her right side. When she felt that she reached the corner of the room, she crouched down and buried her head in her arms. That’s when the sound of footsteps from far away can be heard. She prayed that the person would come for her rescue as soon as possible. She tried to scream for help but no voice was coming out of her mouth. She heard the footsteps getting closer and closer.

Again, she tried to make sounds with her dry throat and lips but luck did not go in her way. The footsteps eventually

became further away as no one noticed her presence. She was tired and scared.

Since before, she didn’t like darkness because the orphanage she lived in her previous life always locked her up in

the store room and starve her when she did something wrong. The children in the orphanage would often bully her and she became an introvert. She was originally quite active and talkative. She speaks whatever she has on mind and doesn’t care about what other people think. But, since other children always thought she was just doing things to seek the attention of the elders, they keep on harassing her and abuse her in many ways.

She wouldn’t forget it.

After she left the orphanage, she found a job and settled in a small single apartment. She has a friend who was good to her. He would always take care of her and encourage her in his own ways. He is also the one who suggest her to play the game he created since he is a game developer. That’s when she found this game and has been playing for a long time.

However, when Season 4 came out, she asked him to give her a free version of the game but he ignored her and did not even come to see her.

When she think of that, her eyes are wet with tears but she couldn’t stop herself.

‘Am I getting abandoned again?’

She continue to sob loudly hoping someone could help her out.

‘Next target my head. I don’t want the special tool anymore. Let me out of here’

She closed her eyes tightly praying someone would come immediately if she said she doesn’t want to complete the

mission anymore.

‘Tak! Tak! Tak!’

Upon hearing the sound of the door opening, she looked up instantly at the light appearing in front of her. Then,

she wrapped her small arms around the figure who was stunned at her action. He looked down at her small figure, disgusted. He quickly pulled her away.

“I thought some animal came in. So I rushed here to catch it. Didn’t expect it to be you”

She take a look at him but she did not recognize him at all.

“You.. Who are you?”

“Hah.. I heard you were having a slight amnesia. Didn’t expect that you dare to forget about me though.”

“I am sorry?”

“Anyway, I don’t care how you got in here. You should get out before I kick you out”

With that she rushed towards the door and passed by the figure who was standing at the door frame looking at her.

He looked at his palm that held her arms just now and smell it.

‘She smell good as usual’ he smirked at the sight of her getting further and further away.

He kept his hand in his pocket and walk away from the storage room which is also known as his ‘secret hideout’.

Originally, he wished to get away from his mother who keeps nagging at him about not being responsible enough in

helping his father’s business. But, he didn’t expect to see Jennifer there or even dream about her hugging him. He never see this state of her though.

Usually, Jennifer is very quiet and lonely. She would do everything alone and wouldn’t bother him. So, what is it that

made her become like a mess and even hugged him? He couldn’t think of anything but he thought it was a change in a good way because he has been in love with her since they were small.

Jennifer’s mother was a maid the mansion.

That’s why they always play together. You can say that she was his first love and he always took care of her. That time, they are very close to each other and nobody could even separate them.

Until one night, the master of the house announced that Jennifer’s mother is actually his lover even before he is

married to his wife. From that day, the master of the house has given Jennifer all of his affection because he feels guilty towards both mother and daughter. This made the two children of the current wife to feel jealousy and hate Jennifer to the bottom of their heart.

However, the good days of the mother didn’t last long. She was poisoned and dead by the wife. When the master found out, he made a deal with his wife that he would not expose her as long as she doesn’t touch Jennifer.

Of course, the wife was furious at first but she agreed anyway because she only wants his money and not his love.
