The First Chain

Silence

There was a long silence after that I did not go to school for a few days. My injury was healing as it should as if it didn't know the turmoil inside me. I was wounded inside but no one knew. When I told my family only my mother sympathized for a moment then she got angry with me saying she dominates where ever she went, my father called me a greedy person, hungry to mix with people when they don't to mix with me and my brother "why do you even want friends" and blah blah blah. That’s how it went with my family. Forget it I thought. But how could I, I had already started changing  into something I never wanted to be.

The next day I went to school and stayed away from everyone except for necessary conversation. All I did was just watch everyone. I looked at them smiling, talking, playing games and doing various things. Then the classes started. I totally concentrated on them. Eventually the lunch break came I took out my lunch which was nothing but few loaves of bread. I didn’t go to her class that day. I gave a bite into one and started to chew. Someone put a hand on my shoulder from behind and I heard a ‘Hey. I looked behind and saw my friend. As I saw her my expression changed in an instant.I looked at her with an uninterested expression.

My Best Friend: Hey where were you. You should have come to me if you had come to school. You made me so                                worried that day. How were you walking that you fell from the stairs? I was talking with her when I heard someone scream. So I went there I saw you being carried away by the teachers.I was so shocked and worried about you. Now that you’ve come you didn’t even come to our class.Huh!

Other Friend: Yeah how did you fall?

Putting one of  my eyebrows up

Me: Huh!  (I smirked)

My Best Friend: I called your mom but she said you were asleep. How many times do you sleep in a day.

This made me angry and I coolly said                Me: A sick person must rest to get better or do you never want me to get better?Why'd you call, need anything?                                            Other Friend: This is why I don’t like you. Why do you talk that way?                                          Me: Then don’t talk with me.

She looked startled

Other Friend: What?

Me: What I mean is I don’t mind if you leave. I don’t care. He!

She became angry at this statement

My Best Friend: Did your head hit really very hard? You’re totally changed.

She said laughing

Me: Why do you want it to hit hard?

My Best Friend: What, No. Why are you like this?                                                                          Me: It’s the same for you as well.

My Best Friend:  What?

Me:  Why are you like this? Why do you pretend? Huh! Why, tell me, why?

Looking at her I said with pain and anger.          My Best Friend: Hey, why do you talk that way?

Me:Please don’t use me anymore. I know I am a fool to believe in everything people say about friendship. I accept my foolishness. You want to be her friend right? Be it, I will also not come to your class. If you two need help you can come to me anytime but please don’t pretend. I am sorry for causing inconvenience to you…………………Please leave.

Both of them got up and left. As I saw them leave I started to eat and again I there was a tap on my back. It was her again.

My Best Friend: Couldn't you have asked me before. Those words were just for her not  for you.                               

Now I was serious and became angry.              Me: It’s true right.

My Best Friend:  Of course, it’s true you’re my best friend and always will be.

Smiling I said.

Me: Okay I believe you.

She too smiled and left.

As she left I said

Me: Don’t show off. I’m done with you. I want to have nothing to do with you people. The one who you used is gone. You murdered  her yourself. So Fare well, forever I don't need your fake emotions anymore                                                                                                           They left.                                                                As I was alone I could not contain it anymore and tears came out.
