Their First Encounter Chapter 1

I have been preparing for this day my entire life.l knew I was never going to marry the man I love because I am a woman,a princess.I didn't have the right to choose.Hell I didn't have any rights at all.My opinions didn't matter to anyone,not even my family.

As a matter of fact, my father saw as a tool to gain more power,to create an alliance with the Decresh kingdom by marrying one of their princes.

"For a prince or princess the kingdom comes first,father said.Your desire for something comes after."

Yeah right,it could for a prince not a princess.If a prince married for alliance and didn't like his wife he could just marry another.Usually most of them have several wives and mistresses,but for a princess it was a whole different story.She had to please her husband and watch get married to different women.My blood boiled but now was not the time to get angry.

Leaving all the bad thought behind,I studied myself in the mirror.My maid spent several hours to make me look more enticing than I already was.I was wearing a green and gold gown that brought out my curves perfectly and my brown hair was combed back beautifully with golden pin in the shape of leaves and flowers.The makeup was perfect the only problem was the jewelleries.The were beautiful but heavy now that I was wearing a lot of them.

I was beginning to feel weak because of nervousness,or was it fear?I didn't know but I was feeling sick.There was a knot in my stomach that refused to go away no matter how hard I tried to calm down.

"My lady don't you like the dress?"Lilian asked.

Lilian and Samira,my handmaids,they have been taking care of me since I was a kid.They were the only ones I could talk to.I would miss them once I left.

No,I like it.I tried to smile but failed.Lilian could see fear on my face.Don't be afraid,she said.Don't believe in rumours they are nothing but just that.Everything is going to be alright.Maybe your husband is a nice man.She tried to stay positive but I could hear doubt in her voice.

Not that I believed the rumours but they affect me.I wasn't afraid because people said he was the son of the devil,they couldn't be speaking literally.They could be referring to his personality,maybe he was cunning,a murderer,a tempter or maybe he was just pure evil,and that's what scares me.

A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts,and shortly the court lady came in."My lady,it is time."

I descended the stairs trying not to fall or stumble but it was hard because of the heavy jewelleries and the long dress.I was relieved there were only few stairs left but before I could even relax I stepped on my gown and stumbled forward almost falling down before a strong arm came around my waist and saved from ruining myself on my wedding day.
