My Decision

"Mrs Susan Miller, which room is she in?" I asked the receptionist while waiting for a quick response from her.

"Room number 501" she said while directing me towards the general ward which was on her left.

I rushed as fast as I can hoping nothing serious has happened to my mom.

As I entered the room, I saw mom laying on the hospital bed, unconscious.

"Maureen, mom" Katie spoke as soon as she saw me.

"Don't worry all will be well,I'm here now."I consoled my little sister who was crying over my shoulder as I patted her head.

I was terrified in reality. Scared what the doctor might say.

The doctor was standing right there next to mom. Dad was also beside her.

"Doctor, what is wrong with mom? Is she ok?" I asked the doctor

"she is stable now, but make sure to not give her any kind of stress. It was a minor attack."

"attack!" I exclaimed.

"yes, but make sure to not give her any kind of stress in the future or it might turn out to be fatal." concluded the doctor.

"thank you doctor" were the words that came out after relieving a sigh of relief.

After the doctor left, I asked Katie what had happened.

"I'm not sure, she was in her room with dad when suddenly dad called out to me and we came straight to the hospital, I was really scared"

"Katie take care of mom, I'm going to fill out the formalities. Dad why don't you join me," I said looking at him.

"Did you tell her, Dad ?" I asked.

"Dear I didn't mean to, but she was persistently asking me what had happened. When they came to take me, she was there. So I told her."

"Did you tell her about the property as well.?" I asked.

He looked suprised when I asked that. I could tell he was hesitant but finally replied with a yes.

"Just go back in and please don't tell Katie about all this, and I will explain to mom when she is awake."

After I was done with all the formalities, I took a deep sigh and sat on the chair in the waiting room area.

I tried to recall the drama that had occurred today.

"Mom will not bear to loose the house that grandad left for her after all that is where mom,dad and Katie leave. I was planning to rent a house for them..my place...nah it's too small..renting was the idea but now with moms situation, she won't be able to let go of the house." all of these were just cycling in my mind then that's when I remembered," Did he know this was coming ..is it possible?

I closed my eyes and laid back on the wall and went to my flashback.

"Miss Miller, I usually don't give second chances, but I would like to make an agreement with you. Marry me and both our problems will be solved." were the words of Mr Smith before I left the office after Katie informed me about mom.

As I opened my eyes, "I will marry him" were the words I said.
