First Crush

I rush through the stairs and drop my bag on the bed and run out.

"Don't you want any snacks" asks mom as she sees me running out of the house

"Not hungry" I say

The next moment I'm on the streets running to Beth's house. The sky is getting clearer and

birds are chirping out of joy.

Faint sunlight dances upon the water collected before the porch of Beth's house.

I ring the bell and beth opens the door wearing a blue plaid skirt and a navey blue coat with gold buttons -her school uniform.

"Hey, come in" she says

"hi" I say and grab her hand and lead her to her room.

"I've a big news to tell you" I say

"The way you have rushed me here, it seem like a big news" she say tying her curly blonde hairs in a ponytail.

"Today a new boy showed up in our class and he is adorable!" I almost sing to her.

"ooh, how adorable on a scale of one to ten" she say clapping excitedly

"Eleven"

"oh my, have my little bird got stuck into a love cage?"

"Maybe she have" I wink

"Tell me his name, no tell me everything about him that you know"

"OK, so, his name is Drew James and he has green eyes and they shine like dewy on a young leaf. He is sweet and polite . He has nice to me so far and his voice, his voice is like music to my ears."

"aah! sounds dreamy to me.Tell me more" she demands

"I don't know more" I say

"oh! then find out"

"how? I can't even talk to him properly, plus I don't even know he'd notice me"

"Well, there's no harm in trying"

"what should I do? what should I wear?"

"how about that pink dress with frills, you look like a doll in it"

"Yeah it's nice but don't you think that would too much, everyone will read into it"

"hm..you're right, how about your yellow floral skirt"

"too short, it's against the dress code"

"oh! I know your red flowy dress, it suits your body and red bring out you complexion"

"yeah! I can pair it with leggings and boots"

"exactly, and curl your hairs slightly, not too much. You have to make you look pretty but it should not indicate you're trying too hard"

"Well I think I learned a lot today" I say "maybe I should go now I have lot of homework to do"

"yeah! me too" she say. I wave her good bye and walk back to my home. The clouds turn pink in the afterglow. The air is cold but not chilly.

I inhale a delicious smell of dinner as I enter the house. My stomach growls and I remember I've taken any snacks today. Right now I'm starving.

My father calls me as he set the dining table and I eat like I've never seen food. My dad is a brilliant cook and everything tastes twice as delicious when you are really hungry.

I do my homework and take out my outfit for tomorrow morning. A mix of nervousness and excitement rushs through me.
