ch4 A hero!

Right when the beasts were about to attack a person walked out of the crowd of humans. This person was massive, he towered above the rest, yet no one noticed him until he came out of the crowd.

"W- who are you?" The village chief asked the massive man in shock, no one knew who this man was, or why he was here.

"I am a hero!" The massive man said with a reassuring smile, the smile seemed like nothing could remove it, making the villagers feel at ease, even they did not know how it worked.

"Attack!" The beasts did not want to give him a chance to ready himself, so they rushed at him.

Without changing his smile the massive man started fighting the beasts, all the beasts around the area stopped surrounding the villagers to join the fight.

"Run, now!" The massive man yelled at the villagers, who followed his advice and escaped, away from the direction of the border, away from their home.

After an hour of constantly moving the villagers stopped, completely out of breath.

"Is everyone here?" The chief asked, after he asked this the guards started counting everyone, and after a bit the guards noticed that only one person was missing.

"Chief! We are missing Fia!" One of the guards yelled in surprise, causing the villagers to look around, trying to find her, but no matter where they looked, she was nowhere to be found.

"We must keep moving, we need to inform the lord, maybe he can save her..." The chief said after a long silence.

"No! We have to go back to look for her!" One of the villagers said.

"Are you an idiot!? Do you want to be eaten by those beasts?" The rest of the villagers reacted angrily, the stress from what happened earlier was still there.

Before the villagers could fight the chief cleared his throat loudly, silencing the villagers.

"We will vote. Who wants to go back and look for Fia? Raise your hand." Followed by less than a quarter raising their hands.

"it seems that the choice has been made... we will keep moving!" After seeing only a small amount of people wanting to return the chief made the choice to keep going.

The chief felt regret, but he had to do this to protect the rest, he would prefer to lose one person in order to protect everyone else.

Back in the village the two sides kept fighting, the massive man was only using his body, even though the beasts had weapons, they kept getting pushed back because they could not deal enough damage to the man whose entire body was like armor.

The battle had been going for two hours, the massive man still standing, constantly fending off the beasts while sometimes managing to attack.

Eventually, four more hours passed like this.

During these hours of non-stop combat even more beasts appeared, every time one was defeated, another would take their place. Though only ten of them had been taken down, so there was not too much trouble for the beasts.

A few minutes before the beasts invasion.

A girl was walking through a forest when she suddenly heard a lot of people walking near her.

She went to see who they were, confused because this area was near the border, so there should not be any people here.

When she saw the people she heard, she silently retreated, back to the village.

"There are beasts!" She thought to herself while on her way to the village.

When she arrived, she saw that the beasts were there before her, and a massive man was fighting the beasts.

She found a place to hide and watched the battle while keeping an eye on her surroundings.

She kept watching, never letting her guard down for even a second.

Watching the man fend off the beasts with a smile filled her with hope, but bit by bit the smile on his face disappeared, revealing a hint of sadness.

However, the sadness soon dissapeared too, not leaving any trace of its existence, now his face was only filled with determination, he seemed to have prepared himself for whatever would happen to him.

Finally, after a long battle, when the massive man was having trouble even standing, the sound of horses could be heard.

At this moment, the girl left her hiding spot, hoping to send whoever was coming near in the direction of the massive man who was fighting for her village.

She ran with full speed, but she was young, and her body was not very fast, so one of the beasts saw her, yelled at the others, and five of the beasts rushed at her, she closed her eyes in fear, and the only things she could hear were flesh being cut, and blood splattering...
