A mother and daughter's separation

Mikayla's POV

Today is the first day of taking my mum to the next town. I'm trying my best to be calm about it but it's quite hard I can't believe Mr Rigby did that to my mum.

My mum is still unconscious in the back of my carriage and my horse little ol' Daisy is getting tired. She is supposed to be retired but I am making her work like a donkey.

We kept on traveling despite the fact that the sun was going down. The sounds of wolves howling off into the distance scared me, but I had to keep on pushing if I were to reach the next town on time.

“M-mikayla?”, I heard a groggy voice say.

“ Ma, mama?!”, I replied, startled.

I stopped the carriage and went to the back to check on her. My mother looked disoriented and her eyes were blood shot.

"Mikayla, where am I? where are we?", my mom asked.

" Mom, just relax and then I will tell you what's up", I tried to advise but my mother was persistent.

" Mr Rigby tried to violate you but you passed out. You have been unconscious for some time now and the doctor said you might not make it if I didn't take you to the doctors in the next town", I explained to my mom as her expression got worse by the minute.

My mother clutched her head and cried out, " if only I had listed to you Mimi, I wouldn't have made you worry, but how did you get enough money for me to get treated?”.

“ That's a good question mom, and the answer is that I don't have any money at all for your treatment”, I said shyly.

My mother stared at me like I grew a second head. I think she wanted me to return the money to whoever I borrowed it from but there wasn't even any money, thus she didn't even know what to say.

“ Let's go back home Mimi, it's getting late”, my mom said.

But I felt like going back to that place shouldn't be an option. For some reason, that place did not feel like a place where I belonged. I feel like I belong elsewhere, where the food is actually delicious, the weather is pleasing and the people aren't…trash.

" There's just one problem mama, I hurt Mr Rigby's daughter and Mr Rigby is planning to bed you or something ", I said, trying to direct her away from that place.

But before my mother could say anything, we heard a growl. Usually it would be some wolf trying to get back to it's pack but this sounded different …it sounded evil …

Just when my mother and I were about to come to a decision of how to proceed, a black and purple stripped creature jumped towards us.

This creature startled Daisy, which made her to take off with the carriage. This sudden departure made me fall out of the carriage and be left with the ferocious creature.

" Mimi, run, come on run !!!”, my mother shouted.

My mom looks like she wants to jump out of that carriage but she can't even get into a kneeling position by herself. She looks kinda funny but I can't be humourous in this situation unless I want my last action before death to be disrespecting my mother.

" Mom, throw me my sword, quickly!”, I shouted, while trying to get away from the creature.

My mother struggled to find my sword as I was running in a zigzag fashion in an attempt to confuse the beast. It took a few seconds more until my mom, clumsily threw my sword towards me, while being careful not to hurt me.

I got my sword and unsheathed it. This sword once belonged to my dad…before he went missing. I swung the sword at the beasts eyes because it's usually a weak spot, unless it's special, it would be severely injured.

The beast stopped moving for a split second before it continued it's rampage. I swung my sword and dodged, but the beast was too ferocious. It kept at it until I noticed that it had regenerated one of it's eyes. But I think that led to it becoming weaker but it's strength still overpowered me.

I was growing tired. The weather was going against me for it started to snow. The carriage my mother was in was long gone.

The monster strated to slow down and it looked like it was retreating, but I was so wrong. The beast made a U-turn and came at me at full speed. I thought I was gone for then all of a sudden, there was a green spark. This spark couldn't even be called a spark. It was more of a lighting flash, and that flash came from me…and was directed to the creature …

The creature was struck down. I went over to check if it was still alive, but it was only unconscious. I decided to finish the the job because it's fur could be useful and so would it's horns. I couldn't believe what I just did but I couldn't do anything about it.

I harvested his fur and horns with the dagger I had in my boot. I tried to see if I could run after my mom, but it was in useless, but my attempt wasn't in vain because, my mom had thrown some of my stuff out of the carriage, probably in hopes of me needing some stuff in case of a situation like this.

I am now all by myself. it looks like me mom was whisked off towards the south east, I believe that is were the territory of Baron Velount is. Hopefully my mom is okay.

As for me, am just going to keep on heading south to the next town.

(a/n: Mikayla is going south because she is close to the next time. she is not going to were she thinks her mom is because she isn't 100% sure she was taken there )
