Ash and Silvy

I don't deserve anything, no one needs to give a pity or happiness to me and i am happy with that. I. am. Happy. Words can be strong so i will say it to make myself believe it. I am happy, okay?

The sound of stepping the puddles make makes me drag back to reality. I just couldn't help myself to think how much long ago it was to stay dry on raining days, how much long ago did i felt someone's help... I open my mouth to shut down those thoughts.

"What is your name? I forgot to ask you at the classroom, my name is Silvia"

I put my hand to my chest and introduce myself. Few second i wait for his response but he only mumbles something quietly under hia breath. I was only able to pick out the word Silvia, my name. I just wait until i get to know his name but even a minute passes he won't look at me although i can still see his pink face clearly.

"Can i.. Call you...."

When he finally makes out a word his face seemed pinker and his voice had a little hesitation in it. I simply look at him patiently and wait to hear his last few words but this seemed to make a backfire because his face suddenly turned stern and his voice became sharper like the voice at classroom.

"I will call you Silvy, you can't say no! Okay?"

The sudden change of attitude made me jump a bit but the thing he said was new to me. A nickname! The thought was enough to make my mouth turn into a smile and nod a few times. After i swallow in the thoughts of getting a nickname i look into his eyes, grabbing his sleeve gently to show that i want my question answered.

"Oh. My name is Ashbel"

Ashbel... I hesitate a little to suggest his nickname but i go for the chances. My face feels warmer now and i realized i looked away from him so i made an eye contact with him again and said the words slowly.

"Is it alright if i call you Ash?"

The fright of him rejecting me seem to become visible on me, his eyes suddenly soften still having the same red colour on his face.

"Fine, if you want to call that so badly"

It was the first time that my mouth said what i thought in my mind, my smiles naturally came alive. Rain sound was covering most sound we make but i said my words as clearly as possible.

"Thank you, Ash!"

The more his face went pink the more my smile widens. Soon we will walk different paths which made my heart a bit dark but i was able to hide that thoughts away from Ash. As i walked right path Ash seemed to hesitate something and glances at me a few times.

"What's wrong, Ash?"

Even though i asked him the reason he didn't reply and just stayed by my side, not going to the left path. I looked up at him in curiosity, he didn't open his mouth to speak. Ash simply followed the way to my home, holding the umbrella tightly.
