As class started I could feel the girl glaring at me from where she sat. The girl then turned around and whispered to her friends. They all turned around and made ugly faces at me. I slightly smiled and rolled my eye.
So irritating. I’ll just lay my head down and listen to some music until lunch.
...1 hour passes...

I jolted up. How can a bell be so loud? I rummaged through my backpack for my lunch and set it out on my desk. The rest of the students left but Michael remained seated staring at me. As he stared I notice his eyes were like red rubys. He had a button nose with small soft lips. Time passed as I analyzed him.
“Do you need something?” I asked.
“I’m curious about you.”
I cringed. My left eyebrow shot up. What is he talking about??
“Do you need my help with something or…?”
“Can we share a lunch?”
“Get one from the cafeteria,”
“I don’t feel like it,”
I sighed. I didn’t want to share. The portions were hardly enough for one and if I didn’t eat lunch here I knew I wouldn’t be able to eat at home. My aunt barely fed me.
“Well, whatever.”
We ate our lunch and very quickly. I guess he didn’t eat breakfast either.
“If I buy you something from the cafeteria Renee will you continue to amuse me?”
“Will I have to pay you back?”
“What type of man would I be if I had you pay me back?”
I followed him to the cafeteria. I needed to save some food for later. I didn’t ask him what he meant by “amusing him” because after he bought me food I was going to cut him off. If he was just going to go to the cafeteria anyways then why eat my lunch?
As soon as we arrived in the cafeteria everyone stared at us. I put one of my airpods in and told Michael I wanted a strawberry milk and a sandwich. He did indeed buy me those things but he didn’t even buy himself anything. I was going to ask why but then I thought it didn’t matter. I grabbed my food and headed back to the classroom.
“Hey, you *****!”
I turned around, it was that perfect female from earlier.
What the hell does she want now.
“Actually, my name is Renee and you are…?”
Her eyebrows tensed up.
“Amelia.”
I turned around back to the direction of the classroom. I don’t really care to finish this conversation. She continued to scream my name. What the hell is she so loud for? Amelia stopped Michael and pulled him aside. I continued to walk.

Lunch was over. I sat down at my desk and looked out the window. It’s beautiful outside today. The class came flooding with students and the teacher resumed where he had stopped earlier. I paid attention to the teacher as best as I could but Michael kept staring.
“Stop staring at me,”
“Why?”
“It’s weird,”
“I’ll stop if you let me walk you home today,”
“I don’t think your girlfriend would be too happy about that,”
He laughed.
“Amelia could never be my girlfriend,”
I rolled my eyes.
“Either way, I don’t need a partner to walk home,”
“What if I drove you home?”
I do live pretty far away from the school. To walk home it would take over 30 minutes.
“Okay, but only if you keep buying me lunches,”
I bit my lip. I felt bad but I have no money and I needed to save what I could until I got a job.
“I could even buy you a house if you want,”
“Yeah, whatever.”
As promised, he pulled out his notebook and started taking notes instead of staring at me. I exhaled and closed my eyes.

I jerked out of my sleep.
“Remember students, tomorrow our lessons start so bring your supplies and come prepared.”
“Are you ready,” Micheal said.
“Yeah,”
He already had his license and his own car. It was a Tesla. How could a mere 16 year old already own a Tesla?
We hopped into his car and he drove to my house. Michael told me to play some music so I did. As I got out the car he said
“I’ll pick you up tomorrow too, 7:20 am sharp.”
“No I do-“
He drove off. I sighed and opened my door. My aunt laid on the floor with a bottle in one hand and a balled fist in the other.
“You’re home earlier than I expected,”
“A classmate took me home,”
“Oh really,”
She sat up and threw the bottle which was aimed at my head. I threw my arms up to block it and the glass shattered upon my arms. I looked at my arms and they were covered in blood.
“You really piss me off” She said.
“Why don’t you piss off?” I mumbled quietly.
She didn’t hear and went to her room. I locked myself in the bathroom and looked for the first aid kit. There were barely any bandages so I could only cover the deeper cuts. I washed off the wounds and put ointment and bandages over the ones I could. I then sat along the bathroom door and cried. I cried and cried until I couldn’t cry. Soon, I fell asleep.
