The Demoted Empress Became A Farmer

The Demoted Empress Became A Farmer

Prologue

When the darkness was almost done swallowing the remaining light of the day, a thunder's mighty roar echoed throughout the heavens. Behind it, lighting strucked like it was opening a huge chasm in the sky.

It was supposedly a good day and rain didn't pour. The strange phenomenon brought different reactions from those who witnessed it.

Fear, excitement and bliss.

Whatever their reactions may be, they all knew, it was a sign. A sign that the world, as they all knew was about to change.

In the West territory's palace on the other hand, inside a dark chamber, a certain Empress' scream reverberated through its walls.

"Where the hell am I?"

Woke Up

Inside the empress' chamber, the strong clash of lightning and thunder woke Shane up from her deep slumber. She looked around trying to look for anything familiar but to no avail.

" Strange". She tried so hard to reminisce that last scene when her suicidal friend jumped off the building they were residing in until her head hurt. She recounted so hard that cold sweat trickled down her forhead. Her memory was so vivid that she could only see herself falling off that same building, following her friend. The memory made her body tremble that she gasped for air to breathe. Her lungs seemed to be constricted as if she just woke up from a terrible nightmare.

"Where the hell am I?" She screamed.

Footsteps were heard nearing her chamber.

"Sto - " Before she could utter a word to prevent anyone from entering her chamber, the door was already opened and what greeted her were faces of tens of pale looking servants, staring at her in disbelief.

"Why are they looking at me like I'm some kind of a ghost?" She thought.

" Your majesty please command." They bowed in front of her with their heads reaching the floor.

" What is going on? Is this some kind of a play? No. I am supposed to be dead. Then what?" While the servants waited for her command, quick thoughts flashed through her head. A call center agent might have been looked down on by others but how wrong they were. Agents had to think fast and utilized every single tool given. Years of practice made most of the agents quick-witted and resourceful.

" I transmigrated." Her drawn out conclusion hit the mark.

" Go out." She struggled to make her voice as authoritative as she could, just exactly how she would when dealing with difficult customers.

The servants raised their heads, looked at each other's panic-sticken face. Their slender bodies trembled and Shane's heart was struck when they knocked their heads on the cold floor. Fresh red blood flowed and created a beautiful contrast against the spotless white tiled floor. Before Shane could even decide whether to admire the masterpiece or to close her eyes in horror, their screams woke her up from her prior stupor.

" We don't dare!"

How could Shane understand that the Empress, the body she mysteriously pocessed was just confirmed dead. A few moments later, they just heard her scream, sending chills through their very soul.

" Just leave me alone and clean the blood! I just woke up and need to think." Although they didn't know exactly what happened to their empress, wasn't it better that she lived? That way, they would be able to escape the inevitable death once her powerful family found out her death.

"Dead is bad, alive is good." They comforted their selves that they even forgot their wounds. Earlier, they almost cleaned their necks. Since they failed to protect her majesty, there was only one fate awaited them. Death. Now that she's alive and well, they just had to be happy.

Back in the chamber, Shane struggled to organize her thoughts. Earlier, she seemed to have scenes played inside her head. At first, she was confused as she knew those scenes weren't part of her memories but a sudden event in her past life reminded her that such phenomenon sometimes happens.

She closed her eyes and realized that she transmigrated into a strange world and in the body of this territory's empress.

Once the memories were successfully organized, she took a deep breath and opened her eyes. Inside the beautiful emerald orbs, flashed an unshakeable resolve.

" I must do everything to survive. Isn't my survival ability my strongest trait?"

What did she see in the dead Empress' memories?

What would she do?
