Chapter 1 - "Who Am I?"

...Hospital...

I don't know how long it's been, seems like two months already, I keep dreaming about an old house that has a swimming pool there, it seems to be related to my childhood.

But unfortunately I don't remember anything about my childhood because I had a pretty high fever, that was so severe, so I lost my memories.

"Well the next patient is, Esther Lu." called a nurse

"Alright, so your name is Esther Lu right, Miss Lu, have you been having a busy schedule lately?" ask the doctor, Jake Yang

"Yes, I don't have a busy schedule recently or in the past few months" replied Esther

"So what did you experience, why did you come to a psychiatrist?" ask Jake holding a clip board

"Two months ago I started having some pretty strange and recurring dreams, like an old house, and a swimming pool." said Esther

"And a teenage girl who sat nearby and played with me." said Esther to Jake while gripping her purse

"Do you remember anything about your childhood?" ask Jake to Esther

"I don't, I don't remember anything about my childhood, I once had a high fever which made me lose my memory." replied Esther to Jake

After an hour in the room, Esther finally came out of there. The doctor advised Esther to find out a little about her past, whether from her family, friends or belongings.

"You should find out more about your past first." said Jake to Esther

"Thanks for the suggestion." replied Esther smiled to Jake then leaving the room

...Hospital Counter...

"Alright, thank you for making the payment, your next appointment will be on this Wednesday." said the nurse in the counter gave Esther a pen to sign a paper

After that she returned home, and she tried to ask her mother something about her childhood.

"Mom, do you still have photos of me when I was little, can I see it?" ask Esther to her mother who is busy in the kitchen

"Photos from your childhood, why do you want to see your past, it's not important to remember the past, now it's better for you to just live your life." answer her mother, Mrs. Lu

"You don't need to remember the past, just live in the present." said her mother

"But, I'm curious, who knows, maybe it could bring back my lost memories" said Esther to her mother

"Oh yeah, I forgot Rylan said he will come to pick you up tonight, he said he would take you for a dinner tonight." said Mrs. Lu

"Really, but why didn't he tell me about that, why did he tell you instead of me?" ask Esther

"I don't know either, You better get ready I forgot to ask him what time he's coming." said Mrs. Lu

"bout the company, I've sorted it out. I've put it on father's desk. When father comes back, please tell him." said Esther in the middle of the stairs

When she went upstairs she immediately entered her room, and looked for something related to her childhood, but she didn't find anything.

Suddenly her cellphone rang, it turned out to be a call from Roy Wu, her fiancé. At that moment she realized because Roy must know something about her childhood, so she decided to ask Roy something about her past.

"I've been waiting for you outside, Are you upstairs?" said Roy on the phone to Esther

"Yeah, I'll be down in a minute, give me a minute." said Esther trying to pick a dress

...Garden, Lu Residence...

"That's really fast, so ready for a dinner?" ask Esther to Roy hanging up the phone standing in front of her house door

"Please, Miss Lu." said Roy opening a car door for her with a smile

Even though she had forgotten why she was dating with Roy, it had been seven years already, and they both we're engaged, so she already fell for him once again.

They have been dating since they were high schooler, and just five months ago, both of them got engaged.

"Alright, we'll be there soon, it's been a long time since we went here." said Roy while driving

"I'm very excited what place it is?" replied Esther with a playful tone

...Restaurant...

"Welcome, this is your reservation table." said a waiter to both of them, while guiding them to their seats

"I don't remember this place, but I feel like I've been there before." said Esther to Roy with a warm smile holding his hands

"Please sit down, your food will be served soon." said the waiter and go

The atmosphere was quiet and with classical music playing and the upper class people eating and partying, Esther took this opportunity to ask.

"Roy, there is something I want to ask you, what kind of person do you think when we first met?" ask Esther staring at Roy while holding his hands

"From the moment before I entered the hospital." said Esther to Roy
