A Thief Can Change

Shizu looked at the thief.

Shizu - "So tell me... why would a kid like you try to steal, huh?"

Shizu wasn't able too see his eyes as they were overshadowed by his messy bangs. He held onto his sweater really tight, clenching it, making him look like as if he was getting severly punished by his own parents.

The child remained silent while Shizu kept staring into his eyes, as if trying to find an answer just by looking at him. Finally, the kid sighed deeply and held his head so he would be able to answer the hero's question.

Kid - "My friend... he's starving and he needs food... but I don't have money... so I thought.."

Shiku immidietaly flicked the child's forehead that resulted in a loud "kaplak!". The hero did not hesitate to do such things,

The kid wailed in pain when the sudden impact had reached his nerves. He covered his forehead with both hands trying to supress the pain while his eyes got teary.

Kid - "O-OW!!! What was that for?!..."

Suprisingly the kid did not cry nor was he that angered by Shiku's flick. The hero was amused by this and stood up, smiled and asked him.

Shiku - "what's your name?"

Kid - "Huh?... oh it's-...... bikyole"

Shiku - "Pretty unique name you got there, bikyole. And you already know that I'm the infamous rumored hero, Shiku naname!"

Shiku made drummings noises while he introduced himself even though little bikyole already know of his name and character.

Shiku - "Now Bikyole, I'd like to ask you something important... stealing, lying, killing... are these actions good or bad?"

Bikyole - "They're bad.."

Shiku - "and what were you doing just now... stealing, correct?"

Bikyole - "Yes.."

Shiku - "and is stealing good... or bad?"

Bikyole - "...bad..."

Bikyole's face was slowly turning to the one filled with guilt, but Shiku was happy that he admitted that what he did was bad. The hero still knew that it's not too late for Bikyole to follow the right path. Shiku rubbed Bikyole's head and cheered him up.

Shiku - "Don't feel so down... I stopped you from stealing didn't I? that means you didn't steal anything.."

Bikyole kept his mouth shut and looked like he was about to cry. Naname was flustered since he never knew how to deal with a kid, but once again, he snapped his fingers together to show that he had a great idea to turn this kid's frown... upside down!

Shiku - "so you said you needed food for you friend, right bikyole?"

Bikyole - "Yes... but I don't have money.."

Shiku - "you must be starving too right?"

Bikyole - "yeah.."

By acessing the situation, Shiku can guess that Bikyole and his "friend" parents were already gone or had left them two to be left on the streets.

Shiku - "How about this, I'll treat you and your friend to some food that I got back at my place?"

Bikyole's eyes lightned up slightly,

Bikyole - "R-Really???"

Shiku - "Yeah!"

The child wiped away the corner of his eyes and started to hop around in a circle, he really was a kid. To be forced to steal for the sake of survival was a cruel thing in the world,

Shiku - "Buuut, I'll give you food if only you and your friend won't do anymore bad things, got it?"

Bikyole - "Yes! I promise that me and my friend won't do anything bad anymore!!!"

The hero was happy that the once to be thief was now just an innoncent boy hoping around like a small bunny.

Shiku - "Alright my place is pretty near here"

Shiku turned around to the abandoned ramen building and bikyole was confused. Before the small child gets to say anything,

Shiku - "I know what your gonna say, and yes... this right here kid... is my "place"..."

Shiku pointed at the old looking building which had vines growing out of the cracks, the banner of tge shop all tattered and dirtied by years of dust, the lonely flickering light on top of the creaking wooden door of the small restaurant.
