Episode 4

Its was Sunday. I didn't have much work to do today so I was thinking about cleaning up the pantry. I washed the containers, restocked them, cleaned up the shelves, and swept the floor.

After chores and a shower, I headed for the market since I wanted to add some fresh and new items to my pantry.

I was really tired of carrying all the grocery bags. I noticed a small park. This park was very shady with many tall trees. I saw that most of the benches around the park were unoccupied. This place was perfect for relaxation! I sat there for a while, admiring the sky when I noticed a boy and a girl sitting a bit far from me. "Wait is that Shawn?" I murmured to my self. " Is that his girlfriend beside him.? Is she the one who hurt her leg.." I noticed she had the flowers I gave Shawn the day before. She seemed very close to him. "The flowers he brought are for his girlfriend?? ..."

[ All those bubbles of anticipation vanished with a pop.]

All those moments we spent together. Did he have a girlfriend all this while..was it me who misunderstood his intentions... he..

Questions left with no answers roaming throughout my mind.. Before I knew it, my eyes were puffy.. clothes wet with tears.

I left the park. I couldn't stand there.

It hurts when you have someone in your heart, but you can’t have them in your arms.

I ran and ran .. till I reached home. I put the groceries on the kitchen counter and ran upstairs, I threw myself on the bed.

It was morning. I didn't realise that I had fallen asleep. I took a warm shower before getting changed, for the bakery is supposed to be open by now.

Life goes on. A few customers came early but they left very soon. Not many minutes later.. A lady came in. She seems to be the girl with Shawn yesterday.

"Ahh, I didn't really know that there was a bakery here. Shawn that idiot why didn't he tell me before." She said as she entered my bakery. " Chef, I'll take a chocolate tart, mango cheesecake and oreo truffles! Oh and a fragrant Lavender!"

"Ok.I'll be back with that," I said and left. She is obviously an elegant office lady..but her personality is very energetic.

After a few moments, I came back with the bag containing the ordered menu.

"Thank you! In every important gathering, I need a fragrant flower to calm myself." She said as I handed her the bag. She took a glimpse at her watch, "Ahh! I am gonna be late for the meeting." She said, panicked.

" Hey, you forgot to pay me !! " I shouted as she left without paying me.

" Chef I'll be late for a meeting I'll pay you next time! I am in the same department as Shawn!! I won't break my promise." She said leaving with the bag.

"Hey, you just left like that..hey.." I said watching her disappear from my sight.

What? So they are just ordinary colleagues ..Don't know why I kind of feel relieved.
