Michelle’s P.O.V.

It’s been a few weeks since he took me out. He comes almost every single day wanting to do something or other. Sometimes if it’s slow he just sits at the counter while I’m working and talks to me. Even on my days off from work he wants to go to all these places. I guess he was serious about the friends thing. Though I’m not sure I can trust him yet.

I do have a lot of fun with him that I can’t deny. Something still seems off though. I have a gut feeling about people and it’s never steered me wrong. I feel he is good but not for me.

Today is another day I have off. We’ve had dinner already and now we are walking in the night.

“So, am I a trusted friend now?”

“Well, you’re working on it.”

“I see.” He sounds so disappointed.

“I have to ask why is it that you want to be friends so badly? What’s the ultimate purpose?”

He pauses and stops walking.

“Honestly, I don’t want to be your friend.”

“Then why are we here?”

“We’re here because I don’t want to be your friend, but much more.”

I’m not really shocked more surprised that he said that so casually. I stop and turn at him.

“Why would you want that? Why do you like me?”

“I’m not sure how to explain it really. There is just something about you that keeps me utterly intrigued. You’re so different from everyone else.”

“So you like me because of a new change?”

“No, there’s something else I can’t put it into words but I know that what I want is you.”

“Are you sure?” I’m starting to get flustered and I am not sure if I can keep my composure much longer. Get it together Michelle!

“Am I sure? Yeah I’m sure and I’ll show you!”

“Wha-“

Before I can finish he grabs me by the sides of my face and kisses me. Not a rough kiss like I was expecting, but soft, exploratory, gently pushing his lips up and down against mine nibbling and licking here and there. I can’t help but kiss him back. As much as I don’t trust other people, it’s been so long since I’ve wanted to be touched.

When I start responding he slowly slides one hand in my hair and another circles my waist.

After some time we finally pull apart and he starts petting my hair like a lover would do.

“Is that proof enough that I want you?”

“Hmm, I may need more proof later to be completely sure.” I say while grinning. I’ve decided to throw caution to the wind. Maybe like Chloe said, I can’t remain cold and closed off forever. The only person that ends up hurting is me.

He laughs almost shocked by the change in me.

“Who knew you had a flirty side as well as a cold side? I can’t wait to see more of you.”

He kisses me again only this time a tender kiss on my forehead and then my nose.

“It’s late come on I’ll take you home.”

He holds his hand out to me and leads me to the car. While driving all the way back he never lets go of my hand. He plays soft love songs in the car. So cheesy, but I can’t help but get wrapped up in this moment. I haven’t felt like this in, well, ever. It’s honestly nice to get close to someone. Loneliness takes its toll on a person after the hurt.

We make it back home and he walks me to the door. He kisses me one more time, which soon leads to the rough kiss I was expecting earlier. Biting and sucking my lower lip, it turns very passionate, but I’m not ready for this yet. I softly push him away.

“I’m sorry, I think we should slow down.” Me and him are both breathing hard.

“No it’s okay nothing to apologize for I just got carried away. I’ll see you later. Sweet dreams.”

“Sweet dreams.”

He kisses me once more on the forehead and leaves.

I walk inside and I pass the hall mirror. I can’t believe I have such a dumb grin on my face I look... happy. I can’t remember the last time I really looked happy or felt it.

I take a shower and get in bed, too giddy about the night to really sleep, and my thoughts are full of him. I decide to play some calming music and relax my mind. Soon I’m passed out, dreaming of a certain kiss.
