Chapter 2: Complaints

"Hmph...!"

Gosh! It's been a month and I haven't even managed to take a first step yet?! Raizen sure is a dense and antisocial person that doesn't even know what people wants!

Everytime I ask him something, he would either ignore or ask me the same question! It has started to piss me off!

Luckily I'm alone in my room now, otherwise I won't be like this. I need to start a new plan, even though he is dense, he still focuses on his studies and lessons.

I have the class' contacts now, and everybody is in the group chat. However, the only person that is still not in is Raizen. I tried several times, just to get his number but he managed to get off it.

I checked my phone upon thinking about Raizen. My heart beats only slightly increased to 67. It's quite disappointing, am I really in love with Raizen?

Maybe it's just my delusion after all, but that is the only time my heart beats reaches 81. It's still hard for me to get over with, since he is by my side every school days.

But, every conversation I tried to make up, he just silently ignored me, without even replying. There's that one time, he even said to me:

[Raizen: "I'm busy with my own business, stop butting over mine's just because you're bored. I was suspended because some girl like you talk to me. I don't want those things to happen again."]

Really though, he is really an idiot! Who talk to a girl like that?! He even compare me with the girl that made him suspended! I am different! Everybody's different! You can't do that!!

But... I have feeling that he... He is kinda down...

His face always have that reluctant look, even when the whole class is laughing, he is the only one that can't. He just led out a wry smile, and continued taking notes of teacher's explanations.

I guess... He is depressed...

I also got the news that he is an orphan, and currently lived alone after moving out from his grandparents' house. I should apologize to him...

He saved me, and he made my heart beat faster, and even, he often helped me with notes. Even though he just used a piece if paper to communicate.

What would he do if I apologize? Would he make fun of me? That is expected, after all, he is still human.

Ah... Whatever, I'll leave that to tomorrow!

Raizen's side.

Sigh...

It's been quite a while, and everyday is a new challenge for me. I expect that people would despise me, or pretty much not even talk to me. But because of this Riruka girl, I can't even have my own time.

She even followed me when I'm going back home, and I gotta say, It's kinda creepy. I don't even feel safe when I'm at work now. Oh, and for your information, I am a part-time waiter at Foila Karaoke.

It has quite a good pay, and doesn't tire me out. The other worker there is quite friendly too, and it's been two years since I work there.

Back to today, she followed me back home, and it's around afternoon. Though, I managed to escape halfway. And, I came across someone familiar.

Kosaki Mizuhara.

The main cause, the whole reason, the person behind my suspension. Kosaki Mizuhara, the popular girl of class 2-A, the person who talked to me and made me suspended.

"Raizen-kun! Where have you been all these while?!"- Said Mizuhara worrily, while trying to reach my hands.

I quickly stuffed both of my hands into my pockets, and replied: "It's none of your business."

Mizuhara awkwardly pulled back her hand, and silently played with her fingers after I stuffed my hands.

She doesn't seem to be continuing where we left off, I made my move and walked past her. Heading towards my apartment.

[Mizuhara: "W-wait, Raizen-kun!"]

"What?!"- I scratched the back of my head, while replying with my slightly angry voice. She seems to be startled a little, her pause doesn't take too long for her to continue talking.

[Mizuhara: "I want to apologize.. Because of me Hayate-"]

[Me: "I don't want to know anything about that, my wasted one year won't return with your apology."]

I continued walking, while sighing after replying to her words. She seems to be trying to reach out for me, but stopped halfway and just watched me walking away.

...

Sigh...

Alright, I'm home now. It's Friday, and this is my day off. What should I do...

Yeah, I can just go out early for my workout. Just a simple one, not the one at the gym, I don't prefer that. Having a workout outdoors is quite refreshing actually.

With a lot of other people also working out, it's quite enjoyable. I can also breathe in the fresh air of the park, and last but not least, I might get chance to meet new people.

I get out of my school uniform, and changed quickly to my tracksuit. I take my sport earpiece on my bag, and immediately connect it with my phone.

I put on the calories-burning tracker and pedometer on. Then, I attach it inside an arm pocket, tightly tying it on my arm.

Finally, I put on my shoes. Just a simple sport shoes, doesn't have to be so trendy.

I get out of my apartment and had a deep breathe. The fresh afternoon air reached my nose, I lightly smiled and started to jog to the park.

Ruka's side~

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH~!"

That was a good lunch! I had quite a meal today, mom's cooking is always dabest! My mom giggled lightly after I praised her cooking.

"Mom, when will dad get home today?" - I ask curiously, after knowing that my father hadn't been there for lunch. She just smiled and lightly replied to me:

[Mom: "Your dad meet an important client today, but he will be back before night time~"]

[Me: "Oh, is that so... Then mom, can I go out to jog today?"]

[Mom: "Of course, dear. You seems to have gain some weight now!"]

[Me: "Mom! Don't say that!"]

My mom giggled lightly after teasing me, but she seems quite cheerful, so I don't want to ruin the mood. Also, it's been a while since I was out to go jogging. I guess today's fine.

I ate a lot after all. I don't want that to return to me on another day, so today would be fine.

I prepared up inside my room, switching to my sportswear, I lightly wore my ribbon in a different way. I tied it from blocking my forehead, so that it wouldn't disturb me later on.

I looked at myself in the mirror, with a quick look, I tried to watch out for pimples. That thing is damn annoying! It destroys my face! I can't afford to let it grow.

After saying farewell to my mom, I left out of the house, and head towards the nearby park. It didn't took me long though, just around six minutes jog to get to the park.

Oh~ looks like I saw a familiar face~

Hehehehe! Raizen is there! He's wearing blue tracksuit alongside with red sport shoes! He also had those sport earpiece on and he looked quite cool!

I jog lightly, trying to tail him from behind and surprise him. He seems quite active though...

...

...

GASP.. GASP...

How can he be this energetic?! I've been following him for nearly half an hour and he haven't even worn off! He still continued to jog around the park in a continuous sequence.

After around the third round, he finally stopped. I had a seat beneath a shallow tree, and tried to catch up on my breathe. Gosh! He is still not tired!

Right after he finished jogging, he had body warm-ups. Not too long after that, he do push-ups. I just looked at him from a distance, and I hope he didn't saw me.

He did around 50 push-ups non-stop, until he shakes his arms, looking quite tired and numb. After that, he looked around the park.

AT THAT MOMENT, HE LOOKED AT ME.

Oh no, did he saw me?! Did he found out?!

...

That's quite a weird way to hide from people, she is funny at least.

Though, I really feel intrigued for the fact that I met with someone from my class. She doesn't seems like trying to do something.

Also, I need someone for my sit-ups. I can't do it alone in such an open space. After all, I usually do it at home with my bed as the one holding my feet down.

I head towards her direction, she seems quite flustered and surprised after looking at me. She covered her mouth while her face is pink.

[Me: "Hey, Shina-san."]

[Riruka: "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! I'M SORRY!!!"]

The girl quickly made a distance from me, and immediately bowed down repeatedly. Why is she acting like this? This is quite embarassing, not gonna lie. There is also quite a few people here.

I stopped her from bowing down and bring her back from her sense.

[Me: "Can you help me with my sit-ups?"]

[Riruka: "S-sure..."]

[Me: "Alright, thank you. Please hold my feet down tightly."]

She lightly clenched her fist and looked at me in excitement and hope. Why is she looking at me like that? Do I look weird working out?

I get onto my position, and lie down on the grass. She wrapped her arms around my knees and then, she put her knees on my feet to stop it from moving.

[Me: "Alright, I'll start."]

[Riruka: "Okay!"]

And then, I finally started to do my sit-ups. Though, this is quite disturbing to me. Since her ****** is pressing against my knees. Calm yourself down, asshole. Can't get turned on now. More importantly, to a stranger.

Ruka's side..

Wow... Six pacc...

Never expect I'll have a good view of his body from here. Hehehehe! He seems quite focused on his sit-ups and doesn't seems to be tired.

Did he even used up any energy during jogging? He still seems to have plenty of stamina left, that his face doesn't even show any signs of tireness.

I wonder if this is all his workouts everyday, then he must've been pretty active. But still, he seems quite this whole time though. And I don't want to break his focus.

[Raizen: "49... 50... Gasp..."]

Oh, he stopped. I guess I can release my grasp now.

[Raizen: "Thank you... for that..."]

[Me: "N-no, you don't need to thank me... You saved my life after all, so this thing is still far from enough to repay you.."]

[Raizen: "Let's go get some drinks, my treat."]

Did I hear correctly? He asked me to go with him and have some drinks?! I wonder what he will buy me though.

I'll divide that into four.

If he bought me water, then he likes me.

If he bought me coke then he hates me.

If he bought me coffee means he loves me.

If he bought me energy drinks then he is neutral.

Let's see the results!

[Me: "Uhm..."]

[Raizen: "Here, since you asked me to go with anything, then have some of this green tea."]

But... I like coffee... But did he just bought me, my one and only favourite drink?! I don't care if this is a mere coincidence, but I'm getting more and more interested in him!

That's it, I must make my move today!

[Me: "Thank you~"]

Raizen lightly drinks his water, while keeping himself standing. Riruka just sat down on the bench, as the day starts to fall slowly. With a slight amount of worries, Riruka finally opened up to talk.

[Riruka: "Hey, Raizen-kun..."]

[Raizen: "Hm?"]

[Riruka: "There's something I need to ask you.."]

[Raizen: "Go ahead."]

[Riruka: "Can you..."]

Riruka stands up, and put down her bottle of green tea on the bench. Then, she opened her arms wide and asked Raizen:

[Riruka: "Hug me?"]

[Raizen: "?!?!?!?!?!?!"]

Raizen choked on his water, and coughed to his side in surprise. Not only her question is straight forward, but even embarassing enough to ask and to do.

[Raizen:"What in the world is wrong with you?! Hug?! You're a girl can't you see that?!"]

[Riruka: "... I know... But I want you to hug me."]

[Raizen: "Is that even an answer?! Look, there's usually a gap between a man and woman. Today, I simply asked you to help me for sit-ups because you were the only choice I had-"]

[Riruka: "Then.. It's not because you had a crush on me?"]

[Raizen: "Crush on you? Falling in love is rather a pointless thing to me. A month beside me, you should've find that out by now!"]

[Riruka: "Pointless?"]

Riruka stepped forward, with her hands on her chest, she lightly looked at Raizen with a sad face.

She reached out for Raizen's hand and lightly press it to her heart. Raizen was flustered for a while, and he blushed. However, after noticing the abnormalities, he finally calmed down.

"Can't you feel that? I don't have a strong heart beat..."

"But-"

"Is it too hard to give someone a hug?"

"Hmnnnn!!!!"

Raizen made a distance between both of them awkwardly, but Riruka is tightly holding Raizen's hand that even Raizen find it hard to get out of.

[Riruka: "Please, Raizen-kun... Just a hug.. Won't hurt, right?"]

[Raizen: "..."]

[Riruka: "Don't you... Want to do it?"]

[Raizen: "Shina-san, there's a limit to one's patience. And I can barely-"]

[Riruka: "Just hug me already..."]

[Raizen: "..."]

[Riruka: "Or I should do it instead?"]

[Raizen: "Hey-"]

Riruka wraps her arms around Raizen. Her heartbeat started to soar, and Raizen was already feeling quite embarassed by now. Despite the fact that Riruka is tightly hugging him.

[Raizen: "Shi-Shina-san?"]

[Riruka: "I am right... Raizen-kun... I love you... Can you be my boyfriend?"]

[Raizen: "WHAT?!"]
