The Creaky Woods

As the man ran faster and faster in the bright red night. People always told the man not to go into the lullaby wood during the bloody moon. The man wanted to know why it was rumored that once a man goes in the lullaby wood they never came out again. When the man had heard enough of the town myth he started to head to his house where his pregnant wife rest. As he walked through the dark wet street he kept hearing heavy footsteps behind him. He started to get nervous and started jogging home. When he got home there was his wife, Rosabelle. He slammed the door shut breathing heavily saying "T-there had to be someone f-following me!" As sweat drip down from his forehead. Rosabelle hurried over to him with a piece of cloth. As she lightly dab it over his forehead asking "Are you ok darling?" he started to feel a little bit more relaxed and said "Yes thanks." As he started to head to bed he heard a loud thump. He started to hear loud wailing. He went to check where it was coming from. The closer he got the more nervous he got. He didn't know why he was sweating in worries. He kept thinking it was his wife, going into labor. When he thought of that he started sprinting toward the noise. And there she was, ready to give birth any second. He rushed to her side as fast as he could. He said "It's ok honey, I'm right here just keep pushing no matter what pain ok!?" She kept saying "I-i can't!" After a couple of hours had passed of wailing and pushing there lays a newborn child. "It's a girl honey." But his wife grabbed his hand and said "I-i can't be there for her...." "W-what you mean you can't!" he said. Her last words was "We shall name her Sylivia...." The man couldn't believe his eyes. That his wife was dead, he just couldn't believe it. "wake up! Wake up, please I can't do this alone....I need you..." As he sobs . As the night goes by it became morning. He realize what had happened last night and started to sob. He wanted it to all just be a bad nightmare. But he thought how can something so real and horrifying be just a nightmare. When he started to hear a baby wailing he said "Sylivia!" He had forgotten that not only that his wife had died, she also had a baby girl. He rushed out of bed to the kitchen where his new baby girl lies on the floor. He slipped from the blood of the process of delivering Sylivia. He felted bad because right after his wife had died he haven't took proper care of her. As he gently pick her up wrapping her with the closest longest cloth near him, rocking sylivia slowly side from side. Singing the song his mother used to sing to him to put him to sleep. She cooed while dozing off. He sang, and sang as the melodious tunes echoed throughout the house.
